Sincerely, this is not the Ritz. But it’s better! A small, family run hotel where the hosts do their outmost to accommodate you. That attitude dwarfs the small - but IMMACULATELY clean rooms, and the steep staircase really is a very minor thing. I especially appreciate how the hosts went out of their way to prepare me a lovely breakfast before I had to dash off to work. Even if this was almost 2 hours before the scheduled breakfast time! Plus, they were really very kind to also do my laundry! The hotel is situated just a couple of blocks from the city centre yet in a quiet area. Finally, it’s also very reasonably priced so this is a great place to stay!

The kind availability of the owners. I booked here in "emergency" for just one night, in a period when work was at its peak and there was a hitch with the move to the new house. I had to get up early and breakfast was served about 2 hours later. The owners got up before dawn just for me, to prepare breakfast. So I couldn't properly evaluate the structure, and its services as they should be, and for this reason in the title I write that I think it deserves a chance. But I think if the owners were so kind as to prepare breakfast for me in advance, I think they will also be extraordinary during a normal stay.

What an amazing find this place was. The staff are all so friendly and helpful. All 4 of them went above and beyond to help. The bed was so comfortable I didn't want to get out of it. But make sure you do as the breakfast is well worth getting up for. Anything on the very large breakfast menu, cooked to order, and unlimited tea, coffee juices, toast and cereal. The bar was extremely good value. There's a kettle, and as much tea coffee, and milk, as you need. It's about 5 minute walk to Coral Island, 7 to the Tower, and 8 to Winter Gardens. We arrived on the Friday, for the football on the Saturday, but unfortunately the football was called of at dinner time Saturday. I've already told the owners, I can't wait to go back for the rearranged fixture.

The actual area on arrival doesn't look the most inviting with lots of derelict buildings. But don't let that deter you from this little gem. The shower was a little small for someone like me, whose on the large side, but I was offered a change of rooms but declined as I could get in and out

Rooms are dirty got bites in bed only stayed one night then went to another hotel.

A great stay. Very central location. I didn't catch the name of the lovely couple that looked after us for the weekend but they made us feel very welcome indeed. We'll definitely be back next year! The breakfast was cooked to perfection and the great chef will cook it to your individual desire. The hotel itself is comfortable and although not 5*, is absolutely great for a weekend stay. Absolutely everything was perfect for us. The staff (André & Julie) were brilliant. They couldn't do enough for us. The breakfasts were amazing and we even had an evening meal with them on our last night. We had such a good time, we stayed an extra night and we'll be back at least twice in 2025. The Charnley Gold Hotel is a hidden gem. Anyone looking for somewhere to stay on a short break in Blackpool should DEFINITELY stay here. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Hosts were very friendly and approachable, i asked for an early checking time and that was duly requested. Great breakfast variety from a continental to a full english, whatever to choose the chef is more than happy to cook it for you. Room 6 was very clean . Only about 6 minutes walk to coral island, and the main shops

Ensuite bathroom in room 6 was small, but very clean, so it didnt effect our stay .

Close to all amenities, short 5 mins walk to centre of town. Very friendly couple looking after the hotel for the owners,nothing too much trouble if we needed things. Michelle housekeeper was a delightful lady.Breakfast very good, good value for the price.

Bathroom sink a pain,had to manoeuvre around it.need decent pillows.other than that all great.

Love this hotel. Julie and Andre were such good hosts. The room was clean and it had a lick of paint too since the previous management. Breakfast was cooked to order and the scrambled eggs were the best I’ve had in Blackpool. Seasoned and hot. Baked beans were hot too. The bar was really good value for money. Excellent location for the lights and Funny Girls. Brilliant weekend thanks and we will be back in May.

Very friendly welcome, clean room, best breakfast ever, it was so delicious and set us up for the day. Plenty choices and eggs were cooked perfectly. Loved the special recipe scrambled ones! It's l ocated in the centre close to shops, takeaways and attractions. Excellent value for money . Couldn't fault it at all and highly recommend .
