The hotel enjoys a prime location that offers a wonderful view and a cheerful outlook. Swimming in the pools is very enjoyable, with the infinity view of the sea, the beautiful weather, and the excellent services at the hotel. The hotel staff is cooperative, responsive, and works to ensure the comfort of the guests. The swimming pool is wide and clean.

The hotel is somewhat old, with some deteriorating surfaces that mar its appearance. It needs roof tile repairs and the pathway to the beach needs cleaning. The public pool area by the breakfast restaurant also requires maintenance. I didn't like the glass barriers around the public pool, as they obstruct the natural view of the sea due to dirty glass. There are some ants on the breakfast tables, occasionally getting into the food, although this problem is very easy for the hotel management to solve. The hotel's location is far from activities and markets, so you always need a taxi or have to use the hotel's shuttle bus, which operates at specific times. The breakfast is limited in options. The price is too high relative to the value you get.

Staff were fantastic, food was good, room cleaned daily. Lots of steps and uphill walking to rooms, however vehicles on offer if you requested.

Extwrnal Infrastructure could use some maintenance. Internals were good.

We booked the deluxe room, which was just fine for the price: beautiful view, enough space for 2 adults and a child. The staff is super-friendly, the service excellent. For example, we came back from the beach and I left my sandals outside the door to avoid tracking sand into our room. Took a very quick shower, and went to retrieve my sandals, and housekeeping had cleaned them off (totally unexpected, incredibly quick).

The location is a bit outside of town, but there is a shuttle which makes it easy to get into town and back. The hotel needs some maintenance, it is showing it's age. However, all the amenities of a 5 star hotel, for a much lower price than other places. The 'beach' in front of this hotel is not for swimming; kamala is a 5 minute drive.

The staff were all so friendly, and made us feel very comfortable. We were travelling with a 6 month old and they made our stay very easy. Mr Park and Ms May were particularly friendly and made the effort to greet us every day. The views from every part of the resort are just incredible. It is breathtaking wherever you look, the lush gardens and the traditional style architecture feels like real thailand! It's nice and secluded away from the hustle and bustle of the beaches, but close enough to pop down to the beach for a quick swim. The room was spacious and comfortable, with all of the necessities. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely visit again.

We had an absolutely fantastic stay at this hotel with our family for 3 weeks in Grand Pool Villa! From the moment we arrived, the staff impressed us with their kindness, politeness, and genuine friendliness. They went out of their way to ensure our comfort and make us feel at home. The room was impeccably clean, and the food was top-notch, with the breakfast being a particular highlight—delicious and beautifully presented. The hotel also boasts an incredible sea view that made our stay even more special. We enjoyed many relaxing hours by the infinity pool, which offered breathtaking vistas and a perfect spot to unwind. We’ve had the pleasure of staying in many 5-star hotels around the world, but nothing has ever come close to our experience at Ayara Kamala. This wasn’t just a beautiful hotel—it was a place filled with heart, warmth, and the kind of care that stays with you long after you leave. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed like family. The ladies at reception were absolutely wonderful—so warm, kind, and genuinely sweet. We truly loved them, and we only wish there was a way we could repay their kindness. Every interaction with them was so special, and they made us feel right at home from day one. The staff, across the board, were exceptional. Everyone was so attentive and helpful, to the point where we found ourselves in awe more than once. Housekeeping was amazing—our room was always spotless and refreshed with such care. Every day, they left us cute cookies and a rose in our room, which felt like such a sweet and thoughtful gesture. On top of that, they decorated our bed and prepared a beautiful spa bath for us upon arrival. These little touches made the experience even more special and memorable. Even the drivers were incredible. Not only were they always punctual and polite, but they remembered our room number every time without us ever saying a word. It’s those little touches that made us feel truly cared for. There were so many moments of kindness during our stay, but one that really stood out happened one evening while we were playing pickleball. A staff member came running down from reception—not to ask us to quiet down, as we initially feared given the late hour—but simply to bring us cold bottles of water. She had seen us playing and, entirely unprompted, went out of her way to do something so thoughtful. It was a small gesture, but one that completely took us by surprise. We hadn’t asked, we hadn’t expected it—and that’s exactly what made it so touching. It was the kind of selfless act that captures the true spirit of Ayara Kamala.

If we had to mention one small drawback, it would be that we had booked a sea view, but unfortunately, our view was somewhat obstructed by the bushes, which was a bit disappointing. However, this didn’t detract from the overall incredible experience.

Everything this but mainly the pool view

Views from the resort are awesome, nice and quiet, peaceful and a sense of switch off. Feels like this place has a ton of opportunity to really make it something next level. If you are willing to accept slower service and a bit rough around the edges, it really is such a beautiful place to stay.

The main evening restaurant was always late with food and often not listen to instructions given about how you would like the food prepared. Often dishes would be served randomly rather than all together. The staff need training. Breakfast service was hit and miss, service could be really slow when there was no one around. The bed mattresses felt old and in need of replacing. The gym, bit weird, pole dancing studio that gets used once a year and some gym equipment that has seen better todays / need replacing. You will need to rely on taxis or car hire to get down to Kamala or other beaches, you can’t walk to any near by restaurants.

The property is located on a hill right infront of the ocean, very close to kamala beach, and not far from patung also. The service is supper fast with whatever we need, the staff are very friendly and helpful, and ready to provide any service and advice. they provided us with complementary massage for all adults in their amazing spa, breakfast buffet was a bit limited, but u can order anything eggs pancake, french toast and they make it fresh, u can also order the same breakfast in the room without additional charge. Buggy service to take u anywhere is supper fast, The pool in the grand pool villa is very very big, makes u enjoy swimming, rooms are spacious, bathroom has jacuzzi Everything in the hotel made our trip memorable.

1. some rooms or villas has some stairs down or up to reach, if u have knee problem, or wheel chair or elderly, ensure that u r in room without stairs. 2. u need the shuttle if u need to leave hotel to beach , nothing around is walkable distance maybe some people dont like this, personally didnt have problem

We very much enjoyed breakfast as well as the friendly staff. Special shout out to Guitar who is especially friendly and accommodating. The room was spacious and very clean. We very much enjoyed the sound bar which allowed our music to be even more special. There was always a car to take us to our room whenever we needed it. We ended up eating at the restaurant more often than we thought we would since meals were well prepared and beautifully presented. The massage at the Spa was exceptional and worth the price even though more expensive than massages near the beach.

We missed having international television available which is the reason we didn't give it a 10/10. While the breakfast were very complete, some of the dishes in the buffet that were presented could have been heated on the hot plates that were there but not turned on. But the food was absolutely beautiful and well prepared. We had access to the full a la carte menu which was a special and unusual treat.
