Swimming pool was lovely and breakfast was good. Room and facilities were clean. Most of the staff were friendly and courteous.

Receptionist was not as friendly as the other staff when checking in, but better when checking out. Air Con issue in first room, but was resolved quickly by the staff on duty at night (21:30)who said that we could use the adjacent room without moving everything over during the night. In the morning the receptionist asked why we were utilising both rooms without first initially apologising for the inconvenience. She seems more concerned that we might have both rooms.

The staff is very kind and always try to be helpful. Also the breakfast buffet has a wide variety and it changes from day to day.

The location is really bad. You either rent a motorbike or lock yourself at the hotel after 6 PM since there is anything left to do. It is a pitty that the shuttle boat to the beach only runs until 6 PM, which makes everything way harder, even to get dinner. Also, the restaurant is too pricey.

Most negative reviews here were most likely submitted by nitpickers: “it’s too remote”, “it needs renovation”, “bars at pool are unmanned”, “staff doesn’t speak English”, “breakfast sucks”, etc. Let me shine some light on those comments. First of all, we were dropped of at the reception which looked quite impressive (like a huge tipi). All girls spoke English, albeit one better than the other. After checking in, renting 2 scooters (rental company ppl speak English too) took an extra 5 minutes and we were dropped of at our apartment. We stayed in room 346, one of the poolview villas. We thought the room was lovely: much light, nice bed with a soft matras, tv was fine, the whole apartment is tastefully decorated and also has a big terras outside. Aana resort is definitely not new, but it is clean and neat. Optically the woodwork (everywhere) seems a bit worn, but that doesn’t have any influence on the overall experience. Breakfast. 2 very friendly (English speaking) cooks, 1 fairly big guy and a girl, will prepare eggs for you, just the way you like them. Besides that, there’s Thai food, sausages, bread, and other western options available. The bars at the pool are unmanned. I didn’t ask why, but if (in 4 days) never seen more than 4 people in and around the pool at the same moment. Seems ridiculous to open a bar for a handful of people. Aana Resort is only 800 meters away from an area with many restaurants, street food & fruits, coffee bars, etc. It’s NOT remote. I would definitely recommend Aana!

We stayed in the River view villa with plunge pool, The clean comfy rooms, great staff, the boat that takes you to the secret beach is great aswell. There is a tour booking agent at reception for boat trips off Koh Chang and back to bangkok, also will help with scooter hire etc. The resort is relatively quiet at most times and the swimming pools are great.

The location isn't as convenient as other resorts with no minimarts or 7/11 and the street food is a fair distance away. This is fixed by hiring a scooter from the accommodation, 250baht for 125cc 24/hr

The staff on reception were really helpful and friendly. Both pools were lovely and the free shuttle to the beach was really handy. Also the sunbeds on the beach for Aana guests were so useful. The beds were really comfortable. The location (especially if you hire a moped) is perfect for exploring the best bits of the island

Facilities were a little basic, but for the price of our stay was not a problem. There weren’t quite enough staff and some things weren’t explained, like there being no bar around the pool we eventually discovered you have to call ‘room service’ and order food/drinks but this was not clear. The breakfast was quite limited, so we were bored of it after 12 days.

Everything! So private, two big pools, the boat will take you to the beach with private sun beds, the rooms are clean and very spacious, with a beautiful view. The staff is very friendly, we rent a motorcycle at the reception (cheap and easy), it has a coffee shop in the resort, a good restaurant with reasonable prices. The breakfast was delicious with a lot of variety, and that amazing view.

Should have more sun beds in the pools, at the beach sometimes other tourists are using the sun beds (have signs saying only for Aana Resort customers) but since there isn't staff they will use the sun beds for hours.

I really don’t understand some of the reviews here. The resort is absolutely beautiful, with perfect pools, lovely clean rooms, and a perfectly fine breakfast. Definitely worth the price! We stayed for a few days at The Chill, and yes, it’s true that the service level there is on another level—but so is the price per night! If Aana Resort had a functioning spa and a poolside bar, the accommodation would be flawless. We really enjoyed our stay, and on the contrary, we appreciated the absolute peace and quiet in the middle of lush greenery. ❤️

The staff could have been friendlier, and a functioning bar and spa would be great.

the dinner and evening entertainment needs improvment.

the setting of the hotel is beautiful, you feel completely part of nature and this made it extra special for us. we loved the room, the bed was a delight to sleep in. our room had a plunge pool an a lovely view of the river. the hotel has 2 very nice pools however due to the rain we never got to use, but that was fine by us. the restaurant was delicious, we eat there several times, genuine local Eastern Thai food.

the rooms are getting slightly tired, but due to the rustic setting it didn't bother me to much. more veggie options for breakfast please, I was limited to egg on toast, Koh Chang chickens must eat well because the eggs were super tasty.

We’ve been staying at the Aana since 2012 this was our first visit back in 5 years, still love the hotel but the location has slightly changed and is more built up than it used to be not sure if the beach was owned by the Aana and they’ve sold the land for other hotels to build there as between the Aana and Klong Prato there are 3 small hotels having been built which makes the beach busier and nosier as the bridge that the Aana built has more traffic for people to access these hotels. We absolutely love the location of the hotel hence why we’ve returned but not sure if Koh Chang I’d for us anymore, the hotel we went to on Koh Mak offered more in the way of breakfast and free kayak

The villas need updating the doors to the balcony need work doing to them Hillside pool needs more loungers Things that used to be free they now charge for like kayaks and firefly tour Breakfast needs a little more variety
