I rather wish I had booked an extra week here. It is quiet quiet QUIET which I love. You can sit for hours and look out over the pond, listen to the insects and birds and fish leap. I sure did. I took one day for the temples, the rest just to enjoy the quiet. You can't put a value on that. The staff have five charming dogs and mutiple cats; I would take breaks from my writing to go visit them for a pupper and kitten rub. They are incredibly kind; the owner's sister went out three days in a row to get me food when we couldn't figure out which Grab offering provided what I wanted. They were very generous and kind. The inside of the rooms is very lovely, big comfortable platform bed. What I loved best was all the glass. When the storms came I opened all the doors and windows and let sweet smell of rain come in. Honestly, this was a highlight of my time here. I also liked that there was a sink and a fridge, so I could do laundry and you had bowls and silverware. Very relaxed and homey. Did I say it was quiet? I already miss this place. Let's just say the moment I walked in the room and saw the pond, I was done for. My kind of place.

This is a very minor observation, for it doesn't in any way detract from your stay. This is less of a resort than a neighborhood guest house, the outside of which has seen better days. Everyone keeps the inside of the rooms up, but the dining area and other parts have been left to either go to seed a bit or are under construction. I'd try to neaten that up, for it does detract from the place if you come in to have coffee. . If you ignore that (and you should, because it doesn't affect your stay), this is a wonderful surprise of a place. Again, these are very minor observations. Do PLEASE remember if it's raining or if you come out of the shower, either put the mat on the floor or use the slippers. That tile is slippery as black ice, so be careful.

If I had to go back, I would definitely come here again. The resort is magical. And so is the owner. We found ourselves surrounded by nature, and PEACE. The owner is LOVELY: kind, helpful and he always has a smile on his face. He speaks English, and he cooks DELICIOUS. We wanted a meal? He would cook it for us. If he couldn’t because it was late or he didn’t have the ingredients? He would call his friend’s restaurant and take the food to the hotel. He also helped us rent a motorbike to drive around, as well as a car to get to the bus station. The room was also AMAZING! There was a very Big and comfortable bed, a beautiful and spacious shower, air conditioning and a fan, a fridge with water, a fish pond full of those fish that you put your feet in and they clean them, and there was like a little balcony with views to the reservoir. Super quiet and calm! The owner had 8 dogs and 5 cats, who were very affectionate and adorable to us. We had a really good time, we felt like at home, and we would recommend Saikaew resort 900% to anyone who wants to come to Chiang Rai.

I was here for 10 days. It is in a lovely and quiet location. The push bike was free of charge and it was an easy 10min drive into town. There where lots of little local restaurants and grocery shops like a fruit and vege market shop in walking distance. I find the place itself lovely. If you have an appreciation of art and craft, and a love for animals, you'd love this place. the lily pond is serene and there are big mature trees. Free breakfast consist of toast, butter, marmalade in and instant coffee sachets. But he is a very good cook and for 60 Baht, he'll cook you breakfast lunch and or dinner. There is also an expresso machine where you can order a "real coffee. I think that was around 40B. I took the bike to the hot springs and got rained on on the way back, them got lost, when I got home had a hot shower but got a cold. So I stayed the remaining here, 5 days in bed. The owners are extremely kind and helpful and anything I needed was certainly provided. I love all the cats around but I'm not a dog fan. But the dogs behaved well enough.

We loved staying at the Saikaew Resort. The owner is incredibly kind and helpful and the setting is stunning. We couldn’t believe what amazing value this place was considering the size of the room and the amazing views over the lily pond. It was the perfect place to unwind and relax. We were also able to rent a very good scooter at a fair price which was organised for us by the owner. Even after checking out he let us hang out in the lobby are where my partner did his online meeting. I strongly recommend booking here if you’re looking for a relaxing and hassle free stay.

Nothing much I can think of although if you’re not an animal lover you should probably be aware that there are a number of small dogs and cats around the property. This wasn’t an issue for us but the dogs bark a fair bit when there’s people around the front desk/lobby area.

Hands down, the best place to stay in Chiang Rai!! I wanted tranquil peace & privacy for healing. What I got - this and beyond. Lots of nature and wildlife around plus adorable cats and dogs. I could not have dreamed up a place better than this. The free bicycles with baskets and locks are just perfect for exploring the town, river, parks, cafes markets & temples. Slippers (provided) on with a coffee and free toast on the veranda watching the fish & birds at dawn is idylic. The room service of phat Thai & watermelon, also perfect. The only thing I would suggest if you are looking to add the cherry on top Saikaew, would be dressing gowns/robes- it certainly is there in this category of comfort for this. I love your place Thank you: )

I loved Almost everything in this lil resort except I wish the aircond was placed nearer to the bed especially during the summer Very helpful and service from the owner and his assistance. If you love dogs, you will find many of them as your companion when you walk around or even don’t mind be carried. Very clean & well groomed dogs! Room is simple but very well thought facilities, refrigerator in the room is so cool - great to store cold drinks in the summer time! Nice lil fish pond in each room. Lovely decor from the reception, common area to bedroom. Food is super reasonable price and good portion. Owner offers bicycle free & scooters to rent. Worth staying & coming back again!!

Wonderful location - though it's far from the city center per se, it gives off a countryside/romantic vibe. You can rent bicycles and explore the neighborhood. Would definitely recommend as a romantic getaway! The accommodation had a small terrace overlooking the lake and a pond inside. The bathroom was clean and had hot water all the time. The internet connection was great for two people to be in video calls simultaneously. The owner of the place was very kind and extremely helpful, and their dogs still have a special place in my heart.

This was one of the best hotel experiences ever! I stayed here for two nights but wish to stay longer. I think this place is pretty convenient for a long-term stay. The room is located in the middle of the pond full of lotuses, so you get an amazing view right from your bed. The place is very quiet and clean, the bed is comfortable, the breakfast is nice, the hosts are super-friendly and they own plenty of cats and dogs!

Not a disadvantage and not exactly about the hotel, but I'd like to mention it here. There's a day tour you can book at the hotel. It says it takes 8 hours. In my case, it took 12 hours and was interesting, but completely exhausting. Just keep it in mind if your time is limited.

We really loved to stay in this super comfy room. The beds were amazingly soft, everything was clean, the shower had very good water pressure and on the balcony/terrace there was a fridge, a sink and so on. A big plus was also the air purifier in the room as we stayed here during Burning Season. We had a wonderful view from our room and it felt really relaxing there. Renting a scooter was super easy and communication friendly. Thank you!

Wifi was not really working but we weren‘t bothered by that (and didn‘t ask the host to check it, so it might be a problem that‘s easy to solve).

Large and nice rooms with comfortable beds, good a/c and large windows. Very cute patio overlooking a beautiful lotus pond. We had two rooms. One had a screen door to the patio (the door could be left open without worrying about mosquitoes), the other room didn’t. Fast and reliable wifi (we work online so this is very important to us). Tea/coffee and toasts with butter and jam available for free. The staff/owners were nice and friendly. There is a large parking lot if you come by car

The rooms were nice but the common areas had seen some better days (probably due to being there post-covid). Such a shame as it is such a unique place. Far from the center and not many places to eat close by. The free bicycles were not in the best conditions. Only lukewarm water in showers.
