Great place to stay in Bangkok. Lot of eateries and restaurants nearby within walking distance. Reception staff are very friendly.

There was a light right above my head on top of my bed. I couldn’t turn it off (searched for the switch everywhere). My other travel parties also faced the same issue. Apparently that switch is near the tv or some hidden place. You should ask reception for help. I didn’t bother as I can sleep with lights on.

Nice and comfortable hotel

Location is 30 minute walk from the main Sukhumvit area. Both the main streets are around 10 minute walk and it's difficult to get any taxi from the hotel. Also, there is so much traffic on the main road that even getting a taxi doesn't get you anywhere faster.

First off, the hotel isn’t the most conveniently located — it’s about a 10-minute walk from BTS Thong Lor Station. However, they offer a shuttle service every half hour from 8am to 8pm, so if your schedule permits, it’s a huge time-saver to take their tuk-tuk, which gets you to the station in just 2–3 minutes. I only used the shuttle back from the BTS station to the hotel toward the end of my stay, and they arrived within 5 minutes of my call. On the other days, we returned after 8pm, so we didn’t get to use it. Our room was on the 3rd floor, right near the swimming pool, and by the end of each day, there was a strong chlorine smell in the room. Aside from that, everything was fine. The staff were all incredibly polite and welcoming. It’s not a super high-end or luxurious hotel, but for a 7-night stay and the fact that I booked well in advance, I saved quite a bit on accommodation for this trip.

What I liked most about my stay at Oakwood was the room. It had two tables that allowed for comfortable work, and the WiFi was fast and stable. The hotel also features a nice small pool, but make sure to use it early in the day, as the sun gets blocked by the building next to the hotel in the afternoon. There are plenty of street food options, and a 7-Eleven is just 2 minutes away. Additionally, there is a shuttle that goes several times a day to the Thonglor BTS. Definitely worth the price, and I will consider staying here again!

The only real downside is that walking to the BTS is a bit far. However, there is a shuttle that runs several times a day to the Thonglor BTS, and alternatively, taking a taxi bike will also get you anywhere quickly and cheaply. Overall, the convenience of transportation options makes it manageable!

Overall the hotel met my expectations - the staff were lovely and helpful, the common areas were clean, and the rooms were pretty spacious and bright. The best part was definitely the comfy beds. They’re a bit on the softer side, but the pillows and mattress are super plush and easy to sink into. The bathroom amenities also smelled lovely (fresh and minty) and the housekeeping staff were always prompt. I also tried a bit of the room service menu (which was mainly Indian cuisine) and it tasted pretty authentic and wasn’t overly expensive. The free popcorn and iced water at the reception area was a super nice touch. :)

There was an issue with a guest smoking in one of the rooms (which I could smell in my room) but the hotel staff were able to deal with it promptly and let me change rooms. Some of the guests are inconsiderate, but that isn’t the fault of the hotel. The location is a bit further from the main tourist areas (like the temples), but it was a quieter and relaxing neighbourhood anyway.

Clean and comfortable stay with a beautiful pool! For our last stop in Thailand, we wanted a place with a bit more comfort and style, and this hotel definitely delivered. The location worked perfectly for us - it’s in a quieter part of Bangkok, but getting around was easy with Grab or Bolt (I’d recommend taking a bike for faster travel). The BTS Skytrain was just a 10-minute walk away, and the hotel also offers shuttle services there every half hour, which was super convenient.

The towels developed an odd smell after just one use. There were also a few noisy guests, but that’s to be expected in Bangkok!

Clean and big rooms. I got 2 connecting rooms with my family of 4 for my 9D8N trip. The hotel is no frills, but you get what you paid for. Linens are clean, and housekeeping does a good job daily. The hotel is 10-15 min walk to the nearest BTS Thong Lo station, but they do provide a free shuttle service to send you there. There is a proper 7-11 about 3 min walk from the hotel as well as a few decent restaurants.

The location is not so convenient. Returning from BTS Thong Lo, walking back to the hotel was quite tiring after a long day. After a while, I resorted to taking GRAB back from wherever I was instead of the BTS. I would not recommend this hotel to family with young children unless you take GRAB and experience the great Bangkok traffic. Breakfast was getting tired as they diversity was not so good. Nothing much to do at the hotel, though they do have a gym and a small pool on the 3rd floor Of all the staff I encountered during my 9D stay, I don't really find myself welcomed entirely by the hotel staff except for with the GM Govnd, who makes his courtesy table morning hi-and-greet, and one guy who was always chirpy and also drives the shuttle tuk-tuk to the BTS station.

Very comfortable clean hotel. Breakfast is decent. Vegetarian options. The pool is clean. Our room was spacious.

They are very stingy with the free drinking water. The give two small bottles per day per room and make you pay for any extra. It would be nice to offer free flow drinking water to your guests while they are inside the hotel. All the other hotels we have staying in Bangkok gave extra water no problem. The location does not have any place to walk to for dining or shopping. The hotel is listed as five stars and it is not even close.

Privacy and overall use of hotel facilities and grounds. I appreciated the sometimes subtle attention to their distinct motif; that little twist that only Oakwoods deliver.

Hotel kitchen has comparable menu identified with 4 & 5 Stars; but caution to the wise traveler whom risk eating their HOT croissants. Despite the menu, the restaurant is completely separate billing from the hotel. Something fluid throughout the much lower Star-ratings. Smokers, cigarettes or whatever, are corralled into a glass box, outside in the elements. More than two smokers at same time is a bit choking
