Just had the pleasure of staying at this charming guest house for three days, and it was an unforgettable experience. The highlight of my stay was undoubtedly the breathtaking view of the mountains, which provided a serene and picturesque backdrop to my afternoon’s with a glass of wine. Each day began with a delicious breakfast served in a beautiful garden, where the fresh air and vibrant flowers added to the delightful ambiance. Penelope was incredibly polite and went above and beyond to ensure our stay was comfortable. She provided helpful local tips that made exploring the area much easier and more enjoyable.

we had the best time at Penelope‘s Stellenbosch. Penelope was really friendly and it felt like staying with friends. She gave us tips on what to see and also gave us some advice for our onward travels. the room was beautiful, very clean and the view from the little balcony was amazing. everything in and around the house was taken care of and decorated with love for detail. the whole property is truly beautiful. the location is a 5min drive outside of Stellenbosch but that was no problem at all. you can take your own car or just take an uber (very cheap). on our 2 week journey through south africa this was by far the best guesthouse for us!

We can highly recommend Penelope's. The welcome was very friendly and the house and grounds very well maintained. The location in a quiet and safe neighbourhood close to Stellenbosch, 2 golf courses and various wineries is a very good starting point. We had a great stay at Penelope’s! The rooms are very beautiful with little details like fresh flowers and everything is super clean. We also had a very nice balcony. Penelope and her whole team were very nice and had some great tips for us to enjoy Stellenbosch! The location is perfect: only a few minutes to drive to the wonderful wine estates. There is also a supermarket nearby. We would absolutely recommend to stay here and will definitely come back :-)

The place lays in a very good residential area, it was quiet and safe neighborhood, close both to wine farms and short drive to the centre. It was very clean and well maintained, had a beautiful garden. I loved the breakfast, they did not skimped on anything, expensive fruits, good quality juice and coffee, the scramble eggs I had were so creamy. The owners were so friendly, we had a really good chat with them. The first day we spent some time around the pool and enjoyed the birds, it was so peaceful. They have also back up battery , so we did not feel the load shedding.

The breakfast was exceptional in quality of produce! Penelope and her husband were superb hosts and we felt very much at home. We appreciated the shared kitchen area with its fresh milk for tea/coffee

Having a kettle in one's room, rather than outside in the shared kitchen and more coffee pods and some teabags in the room would have been welcome. Having said that, the room and facilities were otherwise excellent.

Very clean, pleasant and well-presented with excellent kitchen facilities too. The hosts have thought of every little detail in the room to make my stay so comfortable. The pool was lovely and a perfect temperature and the garden and setting beautifully maintained. The breakfast was delicious and plentiful and the hosts very welcoming, friendly and helpful.

Personally I am not keen on internet TVs and prefer more easily usable regular broadcast TV (with DSTV if available). It may have been user error on my side (!) but these can be a bit of mission and not intuitive when trying to find programmes!

A lovely and quiet location, the room had an amazing view of the mountain. The owner Penelope made us so welcome. We were very impressed with the eye for detail! The espresso cups were Illy and not just the cheapest from the supermarket, beautiful flowers in the room. We definitely will be back at Penelope’s!

Penelope's place was neat, immaculately clean and comfortable. It's a perfect spot for a stop in Stellenbosch, close enough to the town but far out enough to experience the quieter suburb feel. We stayed here for a night while attending an event close by and the room was perfect for our short stay. The room is spacious, light and airy and Penelope caters for all the small details. Better than photos. We appreciated all the small details in the room, which made our stay that much more comfortable. Side note - her home made rusks are delicious!

We enjoyed our stay of 5 nights , the room was spacious and light so it was nice to spend time there. We also enjoyed the balcony. It was also very clean! there was not a single dust to be found, the maids work hard everyday to make you arrive in a clean neat room. The pool was actually good maintained and lovely for a swim, this is something we did not see at other guesthouses. pool beds also very comfy. Last but not least: Penelope is very sweet and caring and wants your stay to be very comfortable !

Cant think of any, especially not considering the price. The price quality is really good !!
