Fantastic location, right in the centre of Simon’s Town, so no problems walking to places to eat, drink and shop. We had a room with a view over the little harbour which was lovely, especially as we got an upgrade to a room with a balcony which was lovely in the morning to sit in the sun. Loved the little biscuits - so much so that I hunted them down in the supermarket to buy some for home! The bed was really comfortable with soft bed linen. The staff we met were really welcoming and helpful. Free, safe and close by parking. Breakfast was fantastic - so much choice and delicious! My favourite breakfast of our whole two week holiday!
Nothing!

Room with a view over the harbour and a small balcony. It was comfortable and had wi-fi. Reserved parking in the square outside the hotel. Breakfast was served in a separate restaurant underneath the hotel.
Having to keep the windows and balcony doors closed unless we were actually on the balcony due to the local wild baboons who wandered around the area in the early morning and towards dusk looking for food. They would break into any open room and basically wreck it looking for things to eat. They are protected animals so can't be forcibly driven away, though they will avoid people unless cornered.

The staff were just so lovely and helpful. The location was perfect with lots to see and do. We were so delighted with our choice. Our room had a beautiful balcony overlooking the water, views weee spectacular. Beautiful spacious room, immaculate and great sized modern bathroom. It was a walk away from Boulders beach where the penguins are, wonderful. Our 16 year old had her own room and she felt secure and safe. Staff always on duty which also made you feel safe. Lovely people! We didn’t opt for breakfast just to allow us to go out and try other places. Great waffle cafe under the hotel, beautiful breakfasts and Bertha’s restaurants for steaks and seafood, gorgeous!
Nothing. It was absolutely perfect for what we wanted.

Friendly staff, always available and eager to assist. The view from our room was amazing, looking out across the harbor. Close proximity of restaurants was a huge bonus.
Limited parking available. Concerned about vehicle safety throughout our stay as we had to park in different locations, sometimes in the main road or the adjacent public parking area. Baboons are an issue; we had one attempt to enter our room while we were in it, causing damage to the door lock. This is, however, a known phenomenon in the area, afflicting local residents as well.

Location! Amazing view! The staff were SO professional and friendly … much appreciated indeed. Room and bed really spacious. Really appreciated the extra duvet I received on request, as I was cold due to the weather. Same delivered with a great smile!
The rooms I requested weren’t near each other, but this was rectified the following day. My air conditioner was faulty to begin with. There were clumps of dust and a most sticky surface where the coffee making facilities were, in my son’s room. Everything was sorted out timeously though. My safe was not operational, but corrected by a helpful staff member.

The view was spectacular over the harbor, but what makes this hotel one of the best was its staff. They became like family as I stayed for over 20 days. The location is also a reason to stay with restaurants both downstairs along the harbor and across the road. I enjoyed my coffee at WH across the road as well as downstairs at Bertha's. There is also free parking, which is a bonus as parking on Jubilee is expensive.
Can't think of a single thing, even the visiting baboon on the balcony outside was a plus. I took some great photos. Who says you got to travel to a nature reserve to see wild animals. LOL

The staff were amazing, my boyfriend got very sick while we were there and they were very helpful in making us feel looked after. The food from downstairs was amazing, especially the mussel pot, and it was nice to wake up to such a gorgeous view.
Unfortunately the floors were really dirty, we would walk around and get black feet. There is also only one time when cleaners come for room service, we asked them to come back later and they didn't, so unfortunately we had a dirty room. Having said that the receptionist was very apologetic and made sure to bring us water and towels and take away anything we didn't want in the room.

Great location with parking (limited first come first serve) right outside the front door. We had a harbour view room and although we couldn't open the doors as it was super windy it was lovely to look out on the view. A few restaurants/bars within walking distance which is handy. 2 minutes drive from Boulders Beach to see the penguins - ideal to get there before the day trips from Cape Town arrive.
Breakfast was good but the restaurant location was a little tired and dark - perhaps due to the windy weather so all the doors and windows were closed!

Our room was absolutely stunning. The bed was comfortable, the linen was lovely. Good, big pillows! But what makes the place really amazing is the staff… the ladies and gentlemen that work at the front desk are extremely accommodating, kind, helpful and professional. They are the heart and soul of this hotel! The hotel is in a beautiful location, very central. We walked a lot, and did a lot of driving to boulders beach, cape point etc. we had a lovely stay. Well worth the money and again, the staff are the heartbeat of this hotel!
It can be quite noisy as there are groups of singers that sing along the harbour. This is for the international tourists of course, and they love it. And this is how they make their money, so I didn’t have a massive problem with it. Just use some earplugs for that afternoon nap ;)

The receptionist, Pearl (if I recall her name correctly), has welcomed us, and she has made sure that we have settled in. While sorting out the admin of our booking, she made sure we were comfortable and at ease. She has gone over and above for us. The view from the room was amazing. Spacious and comfy.
Something that is not related to the hotel and out of their control - you may need to adjust to the hustle and bustle from outside the hotel so you may be hearing some noise from outside. This depends on the time of day and people out and about. Otherwise, all is well in terms of the hotel itself :)
