The Location was very good, room cleaning very Good and clean !
We were very UNHAPPY with the fact that there was NO WATER PRESSURE in the SHOWER !!!! The Management is aware of the PROBLEM, but DID NOTHNG SOLVE THE PROBLEM !!!! They could Simply have an " Inline Water Pressure Pump " installed to Solve this Problem, the cost would be very low in relation to All the VISOTORS that are pouring into this Facility ..!!!!

The room was cute and clean. Toiletries and coffee were provided. There was a wood stove in the room with kindling and wood provided. The bathroom plenty of hot water. The food at the restaurant on site was good. It had a great view of the pond and the staff were friendly. The location was great-the main street was within walking distance. It had a variety of shops and restaurants nearby
I wish I planned an extra day.

I loved that we requested wheelchair friendly and it was. The staff was also nice. I also requested to use two parkings to ensure that my partner has enough parking as he is on a wheelchair, and they were kind enough to let me. Great food- very affordable rate. And beautiful accomodation and transport
The ramp to the stables is too steep- especially the one just opposite the stairs. A wheelchair user wouldn’t be able to use it on their own. My partner is someone that prefers being independent as much as possible and would prefer a flatter ramp so he doesn’t have to be helped to go down or up to the room. The bench in the shower made of tiles can be a little uncomfortable for the wheelchair user- maybe a fold over chair would have been better.l and more comfy.

Beautiful accommodation. Clean and safe. Perfect for a weekend in Dullstroom town. Close to everything! Very cost-effective way of staying at Critchley.
The water pressure in the shower is not great. Very difficult to actually have a shower. There was construction happening on an adjacent unit and it started at 7am.

It was lovely and spacious. It was also very cosy and we loved being able to have a braai at night. The Stables are situated conveniently close to the restaurants and shops, so you can walk everywhere.
The garden in the closed off braai area needs attention. This would probably be more of an issue during the summer months. When we had our braai, it was very dark and therefore the lack of a garden was not really an issue.

Great location and facilities
Just a suggestion is to replace the shower arm with a longer arm so the shower water falls in the middle of the shower and not on the bench. We had some issues with about 10 locusts in the room during the night

This place is awesome. We didn't know anything about the town - we picked it because it was half way between Joburg and Kruger. We could not have been more pleasantly surprised - both by the town of Dullstroom and the Critchley property - including an excellent restaurant, the lovely grounds, and the clean and comfortable rooms.

We stopped here, for one night, while we were traveling back from Kruger to Johannesburg. We had an amazing stay. The property is an ancient building well restored keeping the authentic atmosphere. Our room was lovely, very warming, super clean and comfortable. The staff was nice and friendly. The restaurant have a beautiful and relaxing view on the property’s lake which looks really beautiful and quite. Unfortunately we didn’t have dinner here but we would love.
Everything was great

We did not expect so much luxury at such a reasonable price. Probably one of the comfiest beds and pillows we've slept on during all of our travels. Lots of attention to detail for a room. Fantastic surroundings and an easy walk to town. Wonderful host and friendly staff who made us feel quite special. The restaurant was beautiful with lovely views. Thank you to the chef for treating us with such a well presented and tasty meal. We would not even consider staying anywhere else when we are in town again.
We loved everything about The Stables.

The restaurant serves good food and overlooks the pond. The property is situated in a perfect, quiet location, close to the main attractions. We booked Farrier, a self catering unit with a living room, fire place and kitchen downstairs. There is a spacious bedroom and shower, basin and toilet upstairs. Stables 4, a twin bed with shower, basin and toilet, is adjacent to Farrier which makes it ideal for families. Both units were bright, airy and clean.
