Beautiful hotel with amazing food and I received excellent service from the staff! My room was spacious, with a lovely reading area, great porch and a heavenly bed!! The staff assisted me by lighting the fire in the fireplace and switching on the electric blanket creating a cozy warm atmosphere in the room when I returned at night.

The information on the hotel’s amenities on the bookings.com site could be better as it shows the room had no toilet, which was incorrect. The room had a full bathroom.

I loved the hospitality and location. My Wife Loved the fireplace. That was a winner for her. She also Loved the fact that our room was upgraded.

I foŕgot my wedding ring at the establishment. The establishment called me just as I entered Johannesburg that they found my wedding ring. Which was great, because I was not yet aware of that fact. But then I asked them to courier thw wedding ring to Joburg at my cost. They refused and I had to drive R290km to Dulstroom and R290km back to Joburg the following day. I wonder how this would have worked if I lived in Cape Town or even worse, out of the country. That soured the whole experience for me.

Room, beautiful inside, but would have love to get a room with a view. I quickly felt closterpfobia walking outside, staring at 2 walls right in front of me and a thick bush next to me for 4 days. I was supposed to stay for 5 days, but I just couldn't handle it anymore to stare into 2 big walls right in front of me and a bush next to me. I truly felt closterphobia. Whereas if I could have a view, I would sit outside and just relax, work on all the confusing stuff and lots of other things in my head and heart. I was under the impression that breakfast was included in the price - Egg Benedict - a very small portion with no bread to clean your plate, still hungry afterward. It was expensive for that amount of food, so I went to a coffee shop that had a wonderful breakfast that cost less and made you completely full 😋 Dinners- Fantastic good food 👌 Compliments to the chef

The night guard.... one night I was sitting outside, next moment really strange sounds come out of the bush next to me. I got up to lock myself in the room, but the next moment he appeared from behind the bush. I did asked him if it was him making that strange sound... He just said no, and walk past my room with a flashlight in his hand? That was very awkward for me.

The room was absolutely stunning and exceeded our expectations. The location was great, and close to all the restaurants and bars. Dinner was great and had an amazing atmosphere.

The service at breakfast was disappointing on our first day as there was no one to assist us. The waiter eventual arrived, and apologised for the delay, as he was busy in the kitchen. Tables were available but not cleaned when people left. The Breakfast was great when it arrived.

From the day of arrival, during the stay until the day of departure, the management and staff gave us their all The Spa treatment was out of this world. The room service was also excellent. My gratitude goes to Suzette who went all out together with my partner for a pleasant surprise on my birthday. The flowers and the chocolates in our room completed my day. Loved it💕😍

A comfortable, easy accessible room with everything that is needed for a stayover. Excellent and friendly staff. Superb food with excellent waiters who like to spoil their customers. David is a knowledgeable, friendly and humoristic waiter.

There was a problem with the power that dropped numerous times and no one came with a light of some kind or asked if we were okay.

The great service, spacious room and fireplace made it the cosiest solo stay. Staff was always attentive and on hand to start up the fires daily. Bonus is the Spa 😍

Nothing! (*although I'd be a hater if I didn't tell you to have a look at the amazing heated towel rail that didnt work but it's a small nice to have so didnt mess up my experience 😉)

Lovely suite with a balcony with views of the garden and beyond. Hotel dining room and bar were really well decorated and elegant. Great location, close to all restaurants and coffee shops. Would definitely stay again.

Very disappointed that they do not keep a table or two available in their lovely dining room for dinner for paying overnight guests. Had to phone around to book another restaurant which were mostly full. Bathroom was huge but tiles need to be replaced both on the floor and around the vanity. Gardens were neglected but maybe that was due to the heavy rains they were experiencing.

Lovely, cosy property and the staff where amazing. That’s the best thing about the hotel - how attentive everyone was.

We where here in winter and everywhere was freezing. They don’t have central heating (I’m not sure if anywhere in South Africa does) and it was so cold. We had a fire and a heated blanket in our room but still wasn’t quite enough.

Special mention applause to David who hosted us and served us in the restaurant. He was absolutely fantastic beyond all measure. It was also a wonderful surprise to be upgraded to the signature suite. Thank you.

My sister and i both have hip problems and it was extremely difficult for us to get around with all the stairs indoors and out. Some of the stairs have no rails or support for us who battle.
