What a special place this is. One of our top stays while we have been travelling Thailand over the past month. My partner and I had such a magical time at Lazy Republique. The pool is gorgeous, especially at night. Pilou and Fred are so passionate about their place and that really shines through. The bungalows are all set in their own little private areas with outdoor seating. We loved they cleaned it every day as well. The facilities are all beautiful and very well maintained. This area of the island was also our favourite. Set in the south, much quieter with a nice beach within walking g distance. And the most wonderful restaurant next door called ‘Coconut Cafe’ Would highly recommend!

Fred and Pilou are absolutely brilliant hosts. Nothing it too much trouble, they will sort out bike/car hire, transfers and have great local knowledge. Fred's French breakfasts are better than any I've had in France:-) The rooms are basic but very clean and comfortable. Efficient air con. The location, for us, was perfect. Restaurants 50 to 300 metres away. The Coconut Kitchen next door was our favourite. Better quality and half the price of some others. We preferred the centre to south of Koh Chang. So Lazy Republic is perfect If you don't rent a bike ir car it's still very easy to move around. Just walk to the road and wait for one of the pickup truck shared taxis.

What a wonderful place ! We described Lazy Republique as our “Jungle Paradise”. Excellent, comfortable accommodation, set in a lush, green environment with close access to local bars, restaurants and beaches. Transport is easily available for those wishing to explore further afield. Lazy Republique has a lovely pool and sun terrace. There is a lovely bar where many residents meet to enjoy the panoramic views of sunset whilst enjoying drinks and conversation. There is a very homely feel to Lazy Republique- created by our wonderful hosts, Pilou and Fred who are so warm, welcoming and helpful, they felt more like friends who we had known for years. Finally - I must mention the breakfast- so, so good and absolutely recommended! A truly superb place to stay!

I was there at the end of the tourist season. The owners were really nice. They gave me some very good recommandations on what to do and where to go. The hotel is really great with a perfect sunset view from the rooftop. I really enjoyed staying there as well as the breakfast food (I really recommend to try at least once) and the bar (great cocktail ☺️). The position of the hotel on the island let you go anywhere quite easily as long as you have a vehicle, but it's also easy to catch a taxi. If I can, I'll certainly come back

Mr Pilou and Mrs Fred are PERFECT hosts! They invited us to their bar for a welcome drink and also bought us a farewell glass of wine! ❤️🇫🇷🇹🇭 The bungalows are perfect - situated in the garden, up a gentle slope. They have hot showers, fridge, safe/security box, air conditioning, free sustainable water bottles and cold water. The breakfasts were amazing!! I recommend the ‘cocottes’. Mrs Fred booked all our onward travel and transfers for a VERY good price. Mr Fred gave us great recommendations for eating and helped us with our French!!

We had the pleasure of spending 9 wonderful days at the "Lazy Republique," and it was truly an exceptional experience. The owners welcomed us with such warmth and kindness, sharing their extensive knowledge of Koh Chang and effortlessly communicating in English, French, and Spanish. The entire team was incredibly attentive and friendly, making us feel right at home. The rooms provided the perfect retreat for relaxation, and the location couldn't have been better—Lonely Beach was just a short walk away, and exploring the entire island on a scooter was a breeze. The pool and bar were delightful, offering a serene environment to unwind and enjoy the island vibes. Pilou's cocktails were a treat, and Fred's culinary skills were outstanding, adding a delicious touch to our stay. Their expertise truly enhanced our experience. If we ever had any questions, the owners and staff were always approachable and eager to assist. It's worth mentioning that breakfast is served from 8 to 11 a.m., and we loved being able to interact with the owner's cat, adding a charming touch to our stay. We look forward to returning to Koh Chang and staying at the "Lazy Republique" again. Thank you for providing us with such unforgettable memories! ♥️

Lovely little bungalows, the site is so nice and relaxing. Really appreciated all the advice, really helped us to get the most out of the stay on the island. It's near some nice restaurants too (go to coconut cafe!!) We enjoyed the breakfasts, would say they are worth paying extra for. We liked staying in a quieter part of the island.

Not much to not like! The nearest beach was very nice but is a little walk away which was fine for us but might not be for everyone.

Pretty much perfect! Owners are great, super friendly, interesting and informative. Urban bungalows in the garden are fully equipped and best bed I’ve slept in in Thailand. Location wise also the best spot on the island. Would come back and will of course recommend. Keep up the absolute magic of this place! Thank you for everything.

Everything was perfect. The room was so comfortable, the best nights sleep we had on our whole trip. Really comfortable bed and pillows. Fridge and a kettle for hot water Great pool for cooling off Ideal location Perfect location for exploring Owners were so welcoming We forgot our iPad and the owner Fred drove all the way to the pier to give it back to us. We were so grateful. Such a nice man. Would highly recommend

Everything was perfect

We absolutely loved our stay at Lazy Republique! The place is wonderful, the bungalows are very nice and comfortable and in contradiction to other places we’ve slept in Thailand: the beds are also very comfortable! Its located in a bit more quiet part of Koh Chang -which we really loved- surrounded by beautiful nature and the bird sounds really have a bit of a jungle experience. It’s close to nice restaurants and beaches and if you have a motorbike it’s very easy to explore the rest of the island. But what we loved the most about our stay are the absolutely amazing hosts! Fred and Pilou are the friendliest people who make you feel at home and we immediately felt so comfortable around them. They are very helpful if you need anything, make the most amazing breakfast and Pilou makes really good cocktails at the beautiful and cozy rooftop bar (with very nice view during the sunset!). I would definitely recommend this place and will 100% come back next time :)
