The hotel smelled wonderful! Rooms were nice and clean, and beds were super comfy. In-room coffee was good. Glad to see liquid creamer was available vs powder. Loved the holiday decorations in the lobby and the water with fruit infused water that was readily available in the lobby.
Staff was not very welcoming - seemed very robotic and nonchalant - no smiles or welcoming demeanor. Also, there was a "forced" $30 fee that I did not understand nor did I get the opportunity to use since I checked in late and stayed for only one night and did not have time to do tours or take advantages of other features the $30 supposedly covered. I believe it was unfair to charge me for something that I did not have the time or opportunity to use.

This hotel is located at 1 Canal Place, which is on Canal Street, a main thoroughfare of the city, and is within walking distance of everything in the French Quarter and Central Business District. We had a river view suite, and the view was amazing. The facility was immaculately kept, and the staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet was very good, with a lot of options. There's also a bistro, where you can get grab-and-go meals as well. The fitness center was one of the largest I've seen in a hotel - it is the size of 3 rooms, with lots of treadmills, bikes, free weights, and other machines. Another great thing is that they are pet-friendly, and don't restrict you to lower floors like a lot of establishments. We were on the 21st floor and our pup loved looking out the window at the city.
The only thing that could have been better was the pillows - they were extremely soft, so zero neck support. Also, please be mindful that although breakfast is included, if you do select the Bistro breakfast buffet, it is $27/per person.

Location was excellent, rooms were nice. Front Desk I commend staff on politeness Kaylee and Sam very nice
- The parking arrangement is way out of hand. Last year stayed and parking was free to hotel guest. This time parking for 3 days would have been 249.00$ absurd I use hotel valet parking and was able to save 49 $. The parking was Not mentioned in the booking so came as a surprise shock rather! If I would have known this more than likely would have not stayed at this hotel so travelers be aware of this. - Other swimming pool the booking shows a roof top pool nicely presented so I was going to take my daughter whom is 12 for a summer dip only to find out there is no pool so this was a big disappointment and falsely advertised.

Perfect location, very clean and well maintained, friendly staff and very welcoming
The hidden fees !! When I originally booked the hotel my total was around $350 total with tax included. Once we checked in we were informed that there would be a resort fee of $30 per day that we stayed and that it would go towards food , the bar or room service but of course that would only pay for 1 item on the menu for instance there were $18 sandwiches that were listed however once you ordered there is a $5 delivery fee plus tax and gratuity so we always ended up paying more than the complementary amount. After paying resort fees , parking , taxes or total equaled up to around $750 ( double of what we were expecting) So just a heads up to anyone that has inquiries about the hotel . Overall I will definitely stay there again and I highly recommend this hotel.

The staff was friendly and amazing. They helped with any questions or assistance in booking tours and if I came across any issues with the room (there was only one) they fixed it really quickly. Nice room and view. There was majority of staff that just were amazing in how they reacted with you in conversation and helping in anything that I needed.
The room door lock stoped working couldn’t get into my room. I had to wait for maintenance to get there to open the door. Mind you this wasn’t a big issue, I had no problem waiting plus I really didn’t have to wait long cause they were fast to fix it. It was the No free parking thing that was bad for me I want to be able to park and not have to worry about time off when my parking ticket time expired nor wait or pay for valet service.

We have stayed in a number of hotels on our road trip from Miami to Houston and I have been constantly disappointed with hotel we have stayed in, and they weren't inexpensive places! However, the Westin New Orleans was brilliant from start to finish. Great views over the Mississippi from our large room and the downstairs bar on the 11th floor. The room was ready on time. Great gym and very helpful staff. Location is great.
We loved everything about our two night stay.

The lobby was beautiful and overlooked the river which was very nice. The location is close to French Quarter and easy to walk everywhere and get the tram. Kay who got a little hiccup worked out when checking in was great. Nice bar. Right next to aquarium- good for kids! Would recommend!
Bathrooms could use some renovation. The person who served us breakfast falsely authorized $30 extra tips on top of what we left by charging it to our room.

Love that it is walkable to all the great spots like the French Quarter without experiencing all the noise of night life. Great and welcoming staff. Clean room and comfortable beds.
-Parking was expensive. You either park in front of the hotel or in the mall parking which has elevators connected to the lobby. For 2 nights parking fee was over $100+. -Had a little spooky experience when the radio on the clock suddenly turned on at 12 midnight. -Outdated.

Everything was amazing except the $30 a day resort fee. It was a credit for food and drinks but who still had to pay out of pocket for your food and drinks because of all the extra fee that was added.
