A Hidden Gem of Hospitality – Baan Hotelier Resort Sometimes you find yourself in a place where you are not just a guest, but part of the family. Baan Hotelier Resort is such a rare place. Small-scale, full of character, and lovingly created — it feels like a home away from home. We stayed for three nights, just enough to truly experience life between the countryside of Prat and the nearby coastline. Surrounded by greenery and birdsong, you get a genuine taste of rural Thailand, far from the busy tourist routes. From the first moment, you are welcomed not by a reception desk, but by the warm smiles of host Ay and his wife — the heart and soul of the resort. They are not businesslike hoteliers, but caring hosts who make you feel instantly at ease. What made it extra special: Ay was always available via WhatsApp, gently guiding us to local markets, temples, and hidden spots we would have otherwise missed. Every corner of the resort tells a story. The rooms are charming and personal, filled with unique details — no sterile hotel style here. The garden is lush and a little wild, not overly manicured, giving it an organic and homely feel. It may come across as a bit rustic to some, but that’s exactly what makes it authentic and peaceful. Baan Hotelier Resort is not just a hotel — it’s an experience. A place you leave reluctantly, knowing you will return. Some places — and some people — simply stay with you. A true hidden gem. Highly recommended.

Didn’t have breakfast at the facility. The place is somewhat rustic with the bygone era artful decorations in a country a little off a beaten path not far from town but you may need some form of transportation to get to and from. The room is comfortable, spacious and has enough amenities for comfortable stay. The location is on a quiet country lane among many plants, greeneries, rubber trees and set apart from each neighbors offering quiet tranquility for early morning walk and meditation. I enjoy the owners’ hospitality, politeness and sincere friendliness.

Perhaps placing a few more easy access trash receptacles will be nice😊

A fabulous stay in absolutely unique surroundings with the kindest family! Our room was spacious and well equipped, with efficient air con when needed, a top-notch wet room, and plenty of outside seating choices. The whole property is full of unexpected, arty vintage finds, inspirational works of art, and lush gardens. Ay, his wife and son Ninja, made us feel part of the family from the moment we arrived. Ask Ay about the river trip to see the hundred or so red eagles diving for food, and definitely choose to eat the incredible seafood in the river-side eatery full of Thai families! Walking distance to two Wats for peace and/or meditation. Ay also rang up the airline and sorted everything when I had problems checking in on-line - nothing seems too much trouble for our hosts, our comfort was their only concern. Sad to be staying only one night before our flight home - an unexpected gem!

The couple running this accomodation is so friendly and pleasant, we really enjoyed our stay and wish we had stayed longer. The room was clean and stylish, the dinner was delicious (cooked by the wife). They helped us find transportation to Laem Lok for the boat to Koh Kood. We slept like babies (despite the frog squawking as others have previously mentioned). The garden is pretty and we liked the forest surroundings.

Perhaps a bit off the beaten path, but getting transportation is usually no problem in Thailand.

The hotel was surrounded by so much nature and the rooms were really beautifully designed. However, the best thing about this hotel is the family who run it. They were so accommodating and made us feel at home as soon as we got there. The wife cooked us a delicious Thai meal and breakfast which was perfect after a long 2 days of travelling from England. I would really recommend staying here as you will have the best stay.

This resort is a nice little quiet, family-run place with only a few rooms. We got ourselves a good night's sleep, and the shower was warm with good water pressure. Mr.Ae, the owner, is a very kind person and speaks good English. We dropped him a message that we would arrive late from Bangkok (around 10 pm), and he waited to greet us with a smile. There is a parking spot at the entrance, and we woke up to birds chirping. Baan Hotelier is great for either a short stay before heading to Leam Sok pier (20 minutes by car) or to explore Trat city.

First of all : EXCEPTIONAL FRIENDLY & HELPFUL OWNERS , a lovely Thai couple with a growing up boy. Nice environment. " Retro " & " vintage "- style with lots of original and creative accessories & docorations. Room with all facilities & amenities. With some details the owners accentuate their intention to give great value for money : slippers & high quality toilet paper ... Great breakfast 😋

This was a wonderful place to stay for two nights. The owner family is very friendly and assists with everything. They helped us with all our bookings for our trip to Koh Kood. The food is delicious, and the natural surroundings are beautiful. Thank you very much for making our visit to Trat memorable.

Beautiful design, green, in a quiet surreal location amidst the rubber plantations right outside Trat city. The homestay is run by a wonderful family who took care of me and took the time to make sure I was happy during my stay. They were very kind and incredible hosts. I extended my stay by a day as I liked the property. The owner has taken great care to curate the interiors and exteriors of the rooms, and it was a pleasure for me to unwind, read and hang out on the property as well. I loved how the host took discarded items from the neighbouring villages daily and upcycled them as decor. I would love to come back and stay here for longer with my partner in the future. I also rented a scooter from the hosts to go around town, and they gave me many good recommendations.
