Nice communal bar area. Clean. Comfy bed. Good location

Im a 42 year old man and to my shock I arrived at my room to find there was about 6 very young girls around 12 years old sharing my room with me. It shouldn't be allowed for adult men to share the same room with such young children. Mixed rooms should be for strictly adults only. Also the man on reception shouldn't be in hospitality. He's just not welcoming, doesn't smile and was very abrupt and quite rude when I asked him to repeat what floor room was on.

The hostel staff are great! reception are very welcoming and professional.. and ready to help and assist. I don't know the others names but Peter was especially sweet and kind and helpful. And the cleaning staff are brilliant 🌟 It's very central so easy to travel anywhere in and around London. There's a big lounge area to chill/work/eat and lots of sockets to plug in and charge your devices.. they sell drinks and tea and coffee. They're are vending machines with snacks on most floors if you get hungry and an outside seating area with tables and benches if you need fresh air or if you smoke. The bus stops are right outside the hostel and there's lots of food places , supermarkets and East street Market selling all sorts of fruit and veg and clothes etc, just 5 minutes away. I really like staying here when I'm in London

Some of the guests are not considerate about others.. they don't respect the quiet hours and make a noise, slam the doors, rattle their bags loudly and generally have no awareness of others which is crazy as they are sharing the space communally and one would think it's just common decency to mind your behaviour when sharing.. otherwise stay in a hotel room by yourself and do as you wish. Obviously that's no fault of the hostel.. so bring earplugs and a tolerant attitude 😩🤣 other than that the hostel is good.. but it's not a social place for people looking to connect or go in pub crawls or looking for entertainment.. there are mainly large groups of foreign students visiting London and some others from what I've seen

Cheap as chips, the downstairs was lovely, plenty seating, a pool table and with a small but lovely looking food menu (although we didn’t need to eat to comment on how food tasted) We stayed on a 6 bed private-it’s tight but exactly what you expect from this type of stay. We were delighted to have two toilets between us, one with the shower, clean bedding and clean towels. Short walk from the tube station. Beds were comfy, although a bit noisy when you moved but we slept well. Was warm in the rooms but with two large windows that was quickly Solved by opening them a small amount. We needed somewhere last minute to stay after a cancellation on marathon weekend in which my brother was running (and completed woohoo) We were very nervous about staying at a hostel, but all agreed we Would definitely stay here again, for the price it exceeded our expectations by far.

Location was great, walking distance to top attractions, food outlets, metro, buses… Beautiful old heritage building with loads of charm. Room with ensuite was lovely and spacious and light. Has a heat pump but we didnt need it on. Big TV! Lovely helpful staff. Would happily stay there again!

Our family room was road facing so was quite noisy all night, which I expected it would get some noise but the windows arnt double glazed so didnt muffle the traffic noise, it was a busy time of year so maybe it would be quieter another time other than at New Years. The sofa mattress springs dug into the kids backs a bit and same with the main bed but not as much, a topper pad would make all the difference to the sleeping comfort.

The rooms are good. the beds and sheets are clean, The bathrooms in the hallways are cleaner. I've been to other hostels that have an individual socket on each bed along with the lights. I loved the location and the attention of the staff. Everything I asked for was answered immediately. I love hostels. I think it's a happy and safe option..

The rooms need better cleaning and notices in the hallway and room doors for guests to keep them clean and avoid bringing food. In my friend's bed (05 or 06/ the one below) there were insects that have bit her. The elevators sometimes don't work

Very comfortable room and bed and excellent en suite shower. There is a large metal cage for storage beneath each bed. This is one of my more favoured hostels in London. Enjoy sitting downstairs in the bar area and mainly sitting quietly. There is also a very good `big screen` which had full coverage of the Olympic Games which I watched occasionally. Staff here are generally very helpful. Some really groovy music played on their `LOOP` Only a 10 minute walk to Elephant and Castle Tube plus regular buses going in every direction. Very close to the National War Museum which is certainly worth a visit

Had a slight glitch when booking because initially I received an Email from the Hostel saying there was something wrong with my credit card which involved me having to dash along to my bank who reassured there was nothing wrong at all and the money I had paid through Booking.com had in fact gone straight in, no problems. The Hostel then sent me an Email to apologize. Hope this doesn`t happen again, please, guys!!!!Thanks to David on reception who was very helpful indeed. A great pity there are no self catering facilities here.

It was spotlessly clean everywhere, including the bedlinen. The dorm I slept in had its own toilet and washbasin and separate shower. The washbasin was blocked but I’m sure it will be fixed. These were in the lobby to the dorm and were pretty well soundproof. All the other guests were considerate about not making noise when people were sleeping even when 1 person seemed to be asleep 24 hrs! The building looked as if it had been updated recently and everything was clean, bright, spacious and in good condition. I chose the area as it was on a tube line which served all the places I wanted to go and there are was a supermarket right next to the hostel. The bar and lounge area was friendly and there was a pool table and an outdoor courtyard which must be nice in the summer. The staff were friendly, efficient and laid back. I felt very safe and comfortable there as a single older traveller.

It was very hot and stuffy in the corridors and communal areas though you could regulate the radiator in the dormitory. The lifts were often not working. There were no easy chairs or sofas to relax in. The surrounding area is all being rebuilt and is impersonal at the moment.

Everything in this property is exceptional - Good location, very yet extremely clean compared to many different hostels, great staffs (very helpful, engaging, and friendly), great place (very spacious and comfortable), with always or to say most of times decent guests. I never complain. Value for money: satisfying! Thank you SURAJ (and of course the rest of the receptionists and staffs) for always being kind, respectful, helpful and watchful.

There is nothing that I do not like in this property.

The first i like atmosphere hostel and bars, kitchen, personals very kind. Every floor has extra toilet and bath rooms it is very comfortable. And clear everywhere! İ fascinated about this Hostels. The pkace Elephant Castl near bus top shops, Macdonalds, Tesco, Casva, Morrisons, and Turkish arabic restaurants especially who looking halal restaurants it about 400metres . İt is my second travel and secon time stay this hostel amazing. Especially for ypung people who want to find some new friends and more options to stay there a lot of rooms . İnside rooms every bed has special rockets to pug in your mobile to churge
