Very nice welcome by the helpful owner and her husband. After prior contact with the owner, we were able to check in at 1 p.m. and then explore the city without luggage. The B&B is conveniently located for public transport, less than 250 meters (5 minutes) walk from the bus station and 500 meters (8 minutes) from the train station. The old center is a bit further away (1500 meters), but the route is easy to walk. The B&B is located on the second floor of an apartment building. Well appointed room with bathroom. Quiet between 10.30 pm - 7am. Quiet location, no traffic noise, but occasionally sliding of chairs from the upstairs neighbours, but that is inherent to an apartment house. Excellent breakfast with a choice of buffet in a separate breakfast room.

We found the threshold in the bathroom to be a minus, which you had to pay close attention to. We understand that the design of the bathroom cannot be different.

We were warmly welcomed by the family of Orlando, Antonella, and Vincenzo. Upon our arrival, they took the time to get to know us, our interests, and our plans so they could customize their advice and recommendations, all of which were perfect! They take great pride in being owners of Mare di Luci and deeply care about their community. The room was bright, modern, and spotless! The breakfast area was in a common area, and Antonella and Vincenzo were always available to greet us, serve coffee, and even cook eggs to order. Vincenzo goes to the market every morning to pick up fresh bread and produce for the guests. We also enjoyed meeting their adorable and well-behaved dog, Poompa! It's worth noting that Antonella and Vincenzo live on the property, which is extremely helpful if you need anything. Vincenzo also shared his personal contact information with us for emergency purposes. The property is within easy walking distance to the train station (without luggage), and the SITA bus terminal and Ferry Terminal are also nearby, providing access to other towns along the Amalfi Coast. Being an important town, Salerno has plenty to see and great shopping and dining options without the overwhelming crowds of tourists in other towns. When we had an early morning departure, Vincenzo kindly arranged a taxi for us the night before and was up early to see us off - gestures of kindness that, unfortunately, are rare in 2024.

Everything was perfect! We would return again and again and would recommend this to others.

The owners (Italian couple) are very kind, relaxed, and friendly. It felt like visiting our own family. The bathroom was always very clean. There are only 3 rooms in this B&B, so obviously you won't get a huge breakfast buffet but they offered fresh and tasty Italian products (sweet and savoury), fruits and amazing coffee every day. They really put their hart into everything they did.

You have to climb 2-street-high stairs but we didn't mind. The lady speaks a bit English, the man only Italian but you can understand a lot if you are listening well.

We stayed at Mare di Luci for 21 days and it was an excellent choice. We really felt at home throughout our stay. Antonella and Vincenzo are amazing hosts, beyond words.. they are always helpful, going above and beyond the expectations to make sure every guest is happy with their stay. They were like family to us. The rooms are decorated with taste, everything is super clean. (Also cleaning provided everyday). Every detail is thought of and of good quality. Breakfast is a very nice buffet with various options and our hosts also ask the guests' their dietary needs and preferences. The location is very convenient, very close to the main bus station and train station to go anywhere in the center or along the beach line. Many times we just walked to the center without needing a bus. Also, if you come with luggages there is a rear entrance to the building without any stairs. We can confidently recommend Mare di Luci and we will definitely stay only there when in Salerno. Million thanks Antonella & Vincenzo!

We highly recommend this property. The hosts were extremely helpful, providing us with valuable local information and tips. Breakfast was included with a great variety of food each morning, including fresh pastries. We enjoyed getting to know the hosts and they were also keen to learn more about our journey and where we were from. They were keen to ensure our stay in Salerno was a positive one in every way. The accommodation was very well presented and there was great attention to detail. It was located just 10 minute walk from the train station and close to all the amenities. We had a fabulous stay and would love to visit again one day.

We spent a few days here to visit the Amalfi coast and the apartment is perfectly located about 20 min walking distance to the city centre and close to the highway exit. Free parking available nearby the building 2 minutes walking.The room is very clean and spacious. Antonella the host is lovely truly friendly and hospitable, she makes fresh breakfast sweet and savoury every morning and she is very attentive to the guests needs. Highly value for money and highly recommended.

Antonella, Vincenzo and Orlando all worked to provide a very comfortable and relaxing stay. It was convenient to but just outside the old city. It was also convenient to the marina to take the ferry to Amalfi and the islands. They also had excellent recommendations for dinner, particularly for Cafe Ragùsa where we had in all likelihood the best meal in Italy. We highly recommend Mare di Luci.

I am very happy to recommend this property, the hosts were extremely kind and helpful. I used the accommodation as part of a business trip and it was not a problem to arrange an earlier breakfast so that I could always make it to the program on time. Breakfast was varied and delicious and the room was very comfortable and clean! If I return to Salerno in the future, I would definitely choose this accommodation again.

Antonella was very friendly & helpful. The room was very clean with a comfortable bed. It was quiet & the breakfast provided was good. The apartment was in a good location, just a 10-minute walk from the train station. We would definitely stay here again.

It was the perfect stay in Salerno! Room and bathroom were very clean and the breakfast room was well appointed and the hosts make a wonderful cappuccino! Location is convenient, walking distance to city center, train station, and ferry terminal. Street parking was also available (use the “EasyPark” app in Italy to pay). The highlight were the hosts however; very gracious, kind, and lovely people with great personalities and stories. Definitely the best aspect of this place!
