Room was very comfortable, plenty of space, fine big TV and bed. Deep bath and great shower, can hardly speak too highly of the hotel or the staff. Breakfast was excellent. Rather than a horrible buffet breakfast, it was made to order with local produce and the meat available was not just pork! Staff were always polite, helpful and friendly (very important when you want to enjoy your food). Both breakfast and dinner were served by staff with genuine smiles and who enjoyed a little bit of banter, which is something we liked.
Can't really say that there was anything we didn't like. We had three days and nights there and it was a geat joy.

The hotel is located not too far from the town centre with parking available. Some rooms have a view over to the seashore. The staff were all exceedingly pleasant and helpful. Very comfortable bed and beautiful modern bathroom with quality toiletries. Reasonable price, with good menu for the excellent evening meals, and the included breakfast was well cooked, very tasty and plentiful.
As expected, there was not a lot of space in my single room. Due to this I eventually found the hospitality tray on a shelf inside the wardrobe. Just a suggestion, but if the TV was one of the wall hung models, there would be space on the desktop for the tray and other things. Some of the wooden furniture in my room appeared a little bit tired - small scuffs and scratches in the wood, easily rectified.

Close proximity to the town of Dornoch and right on the footsteps of the Royal Dornoch Golf Club. Great views of the golf course and a quick hop to get to the golf course or town. Loved being able to walk down to breakfast or dinner without having to leave the property. Friendly staff. Easy on-site parking.
Service at the restaurant was slow. Perhaps a bit understaffed? Food was good but could be better. Didn’t understand how the heating in the room worked. If the sun didn’t warm up the room, it was cold.

We had lovely stay, the hotel is amazing is situated right next to the world number 2 golf course and is next to the beach, we were only going to stay for one night as we were heading back home, but unfortunately my husband felt ill and wasn’t able to move out of bed on our first stay so we ended up staying for 3nights instead, the staff were incredibly helpful and supportive during are stay breakfast is also very nice and the food is amazing. The village where the hotel is located has very interesting history including the first witch in Scotland who was buried who is now own by a private garden on a property.

Lovely weekend up in Dornoch, what a great little town up the north coast of scotland. We went up for a golf comp at Royal Dornoch and the hotel is prime location it is central to the golf but the town is small so no issues walking around. Parking was good, staff were nice, beds were comfy, bathroom and shower were brilliant ! overall really good
The food was amazing but not awful, the breakfast was pretty poor and very very slow but we were in no rush so I wasnt to fussed, they have continental breakfast too so there is an option to have fruit and cereals etc, cooked breakfast takes time.

Perfect location overlooking the Golf Course. Excellent Breakfast served by a very attentive member of staff.
We both really enjoyed our stay at the Royal Golf Hotel. The stay got off to a great start with the friendly, helpful approach of the person who checked us into the hotel. The room was lovely and spacious with everything required. The receptionist's information about the evening meal influenced us to eat in the hotel. The fish & chips dish was very good and the servers very friendly and efficient. The bathroom looked as though it had been upgraded fairly recently. The bed was very comfortable but a number of the other pieces of furniture looked a bit tired and although serviceable require changing to maintain the overall standard of the hotel.

The staff greeted us and my dog with open arms even bringing a bowl of water and treats for her - nice touch We also understand that dogs are not allowed in the restaurant but we were made most welcome by having a table reserved for us to eat our evening meal in the bar area It's a wonderful pet-friendly hotel set in a beautiful location next to the Beech and my dog had a fantastic time running around and playing in the sand I can most certainly highly recommend the Royal Golf Hotel in Dornoch - the staff was exceptional, the view from our room was fantastic looking out towards the beech, and the food was delicious

I stayed for 3 nights for golf trip - I have stayed at the Royal before. I had a large room, my bed was very comfortable & the shower in the bathroom gave a quick response, high-pressure flow .. excellent. I did not take dinner at the restaurant as I was meeting friends who lived locally . The breakfast was excellent .. freshly cooked to order & staff were friendly & attentive.
Nothing ... a plus would have been the provision of an armchair for TV viewing but this would have been a minor preference.

Location, staff and food was excellent
Was out of our room from 09:00 until about 12:45 and when we came back the room still wasn’t cleaned although we displayed our ‘room free sign’. All we wanted was our rubbish taken out and clean towels. It meant we then couldn’t have this done as went out for lunch and had to leave our dog in room. But saying this we still had an excellent stay.

Very friendly staff and the hotel is in a good location with lovely views from the dining room. Breakfast was very good and freshly made.
I would not describe our room as a superior double. The room was small with dull décor which didn't give it a fresh look. The dinner menu was restrictive and offering only a set menu of 2 or 3 courses. The option of having only one course would have been better.
