In quiet location well situated for exploring north Norfolk. Decor is fresh and tasteful. We had room no.1 which is large, dual aspect with luxurious drapes & well equipped. Beds were comfy with warm duvets. Spacious bathroom with big efficient towel rail. We chose to dine at 8pm & had the restaurant to ourselves so service was quick by friendly waiter/barman Joseph. Food hot & tasty washed down by smooth Wherry ale. Good choices for breakfast which was also tasty. We were the only guests staying & found ourselves alone in the building overnight which felt odd but wasn't a problem.
Although the bedroom had 2 good sized radiators the room never felt warm, but then it was a cold night in February. There is a small passage between the inner & outer doors which has a radiator but this was not working.

Good sized car park. Spacious bar/restaurant area and outdoor seating. Excellent selection of quality, well presented food. Staff were all very helpful and friendly. Lives up to its name as a “country house” hotel,as it is set on the edge of a small village, but easy access to local attractions such as Sandringham and Houghton Hall.
Only criticism was that the carpet in Room 4, could do with a freshen up, mainly due to coffee drips etc from previous guests. Not a property issue, but we booked this via Booking.com and unfortunately had several spam emails attempting to defraud us from the moment we booked until the day of arrival. Despite reporting to both Booking.com and the hotel, we even got a spam when we got home. So in future, I would only book direct with the hotel itself.

I wanted to be in the middle of the North Norfolk coastal area and the hotel is very well positioned. Plenty of easy parking the place was spotless. No lift but stairs easy and reception helped with my case. It was an unusually cold June but the heating was still on so when I needed it I could put it on which was great. All the staff I met were lovely and my breakfast table was laid out in the bar each morning as I had a dog with me.
Breakfast was great and with a great choice of hot food. A tiny niggle was that the filter coffee was rather weak and the expresso machine was broken - unfortunate but really any decent hotel should have a working coffee machine.

Excellent staff in all departments. Extensive high quality breakfast menu, served by courteous staff. Main menu having a diverse range of dishes suitable for all tastes. Good wine list and bar. Restaurant/Bar staff very professional providing more than excellent service. Rooms clean, spacious and atractive, excellent Housekeeping staff. Reception efficient and above all friendly and helpful.
Room lighting could be a little brighter for autumn/winter months.

The hotel was very comfortable and clean. We were welcomed warmly. Our room was pretty and quiet with good cupboard and drawer space. The bathroom was great - turning on the bath taps did not result in a hair wash from a badly designed shower which so often happens. Dinner in the restaurant was very nice and after a good nights sleep Sandra (the owner) couldn’t have been nicer. We were late for breakfast but she made sure that we had toast and coffee to see us on our way.

excellent breakfast - piping hot and offer of more toast / tea / coffee if and when as wanted. Dinner food was also excellent and the staff were brilliant. nice choice of food on the menu The terrace and garden was lovely. nice sized room, huge double bed which was very comfortable
the old cream leather sofa and chair and bedside lamps may not be to everyone's taste and were a bit dated. Some more modern furniture like the sofas and chairs in the bar area would make the room great.

The location was perfect for us, just 15mins from the coast. In the small village of Bircham and easy to find on the main road through. Extremely cosy warm hotel with excellent staff. All welcoming and nothings too much trouble. Rooms have so comfy beds for a good night's sleep. Excellent food and plentiful, breakfast also great.
No blind in bathroom, just a net curtain our room overlooked a property so we put a towel up at the window.

The friendly staff, the delicious breakfast. The bed was extremely comfortable.
The fact that the restaurant was closed apart from breakfast. As neither of us like to drive at night now it was very difficult as we couldn't find any where to eat that didn't require a drive down dark country roads. It somewhat spoilt our holiday. We had been informed about the closure of the dining room about 2 weeks before we were due to come but as we were meeting up with several members of our family it was not possible to alter the date. Our room was nicely furnished but very small, we had to move the bed in order to be able to open the cupboard to put our clothes in!

As a celiac I always judge the food on the choice and approach to providing for my dietary requirements. I was delighted to ifnd out that the Kings Head were extremely flexible and accomodating to my needs. The food was brilliant - both for dinner and breakfast. The room was also lovely. Well appointed andhad everything we needed. We went as a celebration for my husband's birthday and were delightyed with our stay overall.
seriously there was nothing I didn't like.

The hotel is located in a lovely village with a village store that is also a very nice coffee shop and bar directly opposite. There is ample parking at the rear. Our room was very spacious clean and comfortable, it overlooked the road but there was no noise at all. The hotel is homely with a modern feel, the bar was open in the evening and the staff are really lovely and welcoming. The breakfast was amazing, so much to choose from and excellent portion sizes. I would highly recommend and would stay here again.
Evening meals weren't available at the time of our visit, however we were informed of this prior to arrival and the Manager provided a list of local restaurants and pubs so it was no issue at all to book somewhere.
