The location was perfect for what we were looking for (central to town). There was minimal interaction with staff, and the keypad on the front door added a sense of security. Room was very clean and amenities were well-appointed for the price point.
A certain level of commotion always comes with a centrally-located location. The slatted windows allowed for more street noise to enter the room than paned windows might have. But the noise was only music and dog barking, so it wasn’t awful. Being very close to the water meant that the odors from the Sargassum invasion reached the room.

Chefy, the owner, was one of the best hosts you could as for. He had answers to any questions and got back to you within minutes. He can help with restaurant recommendations or point you towards a trusted and fairly priced golf cart rental company. Anything we needed or any concerns were addressed immediately and without any hassle. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The rooms we were using were used for sleeping and dressing, so the space was perfectly sized. Now if you are looking for more than that you might be looking for larger rooms although the common area and balcony was pretty much our own, as there are only 2 rooms on the second floor. Nice patio set out front, secured doors, and the staff were up early, keeping the place spotless. This location is right downtown San Pedro, which is a busy place, warning-almost never quiet - but the rooms seemed to cut us off from it all, and falling asleep was never an issue. Overall, it is probably one of, if not the nicest place in the heart of San Pedro.
Any concerns we had were addressed directly with the owner and were changed/fixed immediately. Therefore, there is nothing else to say because it has been changed for future patrons. Ex: Do not disturb signs to hang outside rooms. When asked, we were shown confirmation of them sent out and to arrive in the mail.

This is a great property in San Pedro. The location is super close to the drop off location from the ferry (less than 100-150 feet). The rooms were fairly small, but well equipped and very clean. However, the best part is the customer service Chefy and his staff provide. Chefy did an excellent job communicating with us proactively several times on our way there, he was extremely accommodating and gave us fantastic recommendations. They even let me use a shower in a different room after returning from snorkeling since it was after checkout, and held our bags for us for several hours until we left the island. Chefy’s staff was just as helpful and they truly earned our positive review. Very good experience and highly recommended.

I loved the location of the property and the security. I liked having a code for the outside door and then a key for the suite and another for the room. I felt very secure especially since the area/location is a busy thoroughfare. I also liked the outside bench outside the suites for a leisure sit down. The host was very accommodating and showed great care to track check-in and be present upon arrival. Another great thing is that the property is located between two water taxis. it was a quick walk upon arrival and when I visited other islands for the day.
I did not like not having a beachfront to lay on a beach chair in the sand. I was not fully aware of this and although disappointed, it did not impact my stay. I also felt rushed to exit the room so it could be serviced. I tried to accommodate to not upset the staff but this was an inconvenience as I am not an earl bird. One day I’ll found them camped outside my door waiting for my leave! it was a bit of an annoyance but had no impact or more stay. just thought I’d mention for others to be aware of this.

The owner Chefy was awesome. Came down as we were arriving and welcomed me by name ( because we'd just left another hotel who called to tell him we were on our way). The place was clean, rooms were newly redone, and the location was great for walking to local restaurants, gift stores and coffee shops. There was a discount too on booking so by far this was the best price for what we were looking for!
The only drawbacks I'd say would be the noise since you are right downtown and on a main street but not bad unless you like to sleep in. The room was smaller than the previous 2 hotel rooms we stayed in but the price point (a special running on booking) was awesome.

delighted w/ Casa de Paz as perfect ‘find’ for a dive vacation. from the moment Blackini (Chefy’s unofficial’ ‘concierge) hailed us off Barrier Reef through to Chefy’s warm welcome, great dining recommends and superb WhatsApp responsiveness (when alerted that the safe-drawer was broken, Chefy had it fixed by the following afternoon!) I felt we’d made a great lodging choice. the room itself was spacious, cleaned meticulously, had a fridge, TV, strong Wi-Fi, hot showers and a fab-comfy king bed. Location was ideal, so near our dive operation and for access to both ends of Ambergris.
would’ve loved a kettle; suspect, having met Chefy and further read reviews, he would have provided one had I asked. if you are diving w/ them, Amigos filled the void

Our stay in Casa de la Paz was short but great, Chefy the Host was excellent, he received us on our arrival and gave us excellent recommendations for going out for dinner and drinks. Excellent place in an excellent location, close to bars and restaurants and the beach just there few meters away. The rooms were very clean and very new, the beds were super super comfortable and the sheets linen, and the bathroom and shower very clean and working perfectly, there is AC and also ceilling fans. It exceeded our expectations. Very recomended. Thanks again to Chefy for making our short stay very nice in San pedro.

It could be described as a boutique hotel as Chefy’s attention to detail is second to none. The rooms are tastefully decorated in a modern understated fresh Caribbean style. The beds are supremely comfortable with beautifully appointed amenities, there’s even an ironing board in the room! Chefy is a very attentive host and is on hand to greet his guests and answer any queries. He takes great pride in his family business and it shows. I certainly hope to be a repeat guest and highly recommend a stay at La Casa de Paz.
There’s nothing not to like!

Location is supreme, right in the heart of San Pedro, very easy walking distance from either ferry terminal (boats from Caye Caulker or Belize City), close to restaurants and night life. Not absolute beachfront, but one building behind means that you still catch the breezes. There is a little noise at night, but considering the location it is very moderate. The rooms seem to be recently renovated and they are very clean, modern and comfortable. There was a hairdryer, and amenities, good quality towels and everything was fresh. There is room to unpack, and a small bar fridge. Communal patio area if you want to get out of the room for a bit. Host is very friendly and happy to have a chat and make recommendations. Wifi was good enough for video calls about 10mbps.
Check in was a little tricky because i needed to retrieve the door lock code from booking.com, but i didn't see the details before i checked out of my previous hotel, and lost wifi connection, which meant i had to hunt for free wifi on the island. (luckily free wifi is readily available in restaurants or bars). A desk would be great for the room as i had to improvise with the bedside tables and take one of the communal chairs to work.

The property was so close to restaurants and the beach. Chefy helped us get a golf cart (which I recommend) and gave us recommendations of places to go during our stay which we loved. He recommended Palpas Bar and we had the best time seeing marine life even at night! Chefy was also a great communicator and that was something that definitely stuck out to us. Our stay was exactly what we wanted for location, comfortability, hospitality, and in the heart of the island. We used our golf cart multiple times to see different parts of the island and it was totally worth it. Thank you Chefy and Karen for all your wonderful help. We enjoyed the island so much! There is also a local cigar shop walking distance that we absolutely loved if your craving a cigar.
I loved everything about our stay but don’t forget your bug spray and sunscreen! Thanks Chefy!
