We had a wonderful stay at this hotel in the heart of Zermatt. The location is unbeatable – just a short walk from the train station and surrounded by shops, restaurants, bars, a pharmacy, and a bakery. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, making us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. Our room was spacious, spotlessly clean, and well-equipped with everything we needed. A thoughtful touch was the provision of a fan, which made the top-floor room pleasantly cool even in warm weather. The newly renovated spa and gym area were a highlight – modern, serene, and a perfect place to unwind. My wife particularly enjoyed a very relaxing massage, which added an extra level of comfort to our stay. We also appreciated the free tea and coffee served in the afternoon, and the extensive breakfast buffet, which was simply excellent. Dining in was a pleasure, with a good variety of restaurants offering delicious local cuisine right on-site. We were celebrating our anniversary during our stay, and were touched by the personal note and chocolate surprise in our room – a lovely small gesture that made our day even more special. Highly recommended for anyone looking for comfort, service, and convenience in Zermatt!

While our stay was overall excellent, there were a couple of minor drawbacks worth mentioning. Due to the central location, the street-facing rooms can be a bit noisy, especially with the main road just below. It’s the trade-off for being right in the heart of Zermatt. If you're sensitive to noise, we’d recommend requesting a room facing the courtyard for a quieter experience. Additionally, our bathroom only had a bathtub with a showerhead, rather than a walk-in shower. This setup may be less convenient or slippery, particularly for guests with mobility concerns. That said, these were small issues in an otherwise fantastic stay.

Everything about this hotel was very good...the staff very courteous & friendly. The room on the 4th floor was really nicely appointed though medium sized but with a balcony & view of the Matterhorn. Good facilities too & nice bathroom. Breakfast was very nice with eggs to order & sausages & bacon too. Making our own orange juice was a wonderful touch added. By & large well had a great stay in Zermatt & happy to have chosen this charming hotel.

All good & nothing to dislike. Keep it up.

Room location was ideal for us, and the coffee machine in room was a very nice touch. Room was large, comfortable, and well equipped, and quite isolated from the neighbouring rooms. Breakfast had a really great selection, including hot cooked options. Very Accommodating team working there.

Room was Roadside, meaning subject to the really noisy nightly drunken clientele from the local bars and Nightclubs from midnight to 3:30 in the morning. The Room had good noise isolation windows, but still not enough to stop the Screams and shouting from outside in the early mornings. This is NOT in any way intended to scar the HOTEL, it is purely an external element to note.

There are so many lodging choices in Zermatt, but the Hotel Pollux ticked a lot of important boxes for us: Close to train station, outstanding restaurant, warm cozy pub, inviting common spaces, friendly staff, and very comfortable, quiet, and spacious rooms. We stayed there just one night to pre-position for the Glacier Express, but I wish we could have stayed longer. This is a great place to stay with lots of personality and I can see how it would be even more inviting during the long winter nights of ski season.

The staff could not get all of the clouds to clear off the Matterhorn.

Location great. PIcked up at train in the rain. Staff more than just friendly -- we chatted in English and German. Room in back side of house with beautiful porch and view -- well worth it. We enjoyed one early evening meal at the hotel restaurant, delicious, quickly served, and hostess kindly gave us a quiet corner table for a family 'Zoom'. A family establishment and a great 'find'.

No negatives at all. We found our way past the too-touristy parts of town. DIdn't sample the more expensive establishments up the hill near rhe cemetery.

Family room has verandah (view of the main street), friendly staff, breakfast was good (even has fresh juicer), clean, less than 5 mins walk from the station (and no pebble road), has elevator, relatively quiet room (although we were next to the elevator), cleans room everyday, has minibar + bathrobe + slippers, has bathtub

One of the bathroom basin was leaking water (but not too bad and we had another bathroom to use with no problem), pillow was too soft, has 5 steps to go to lobby without disabled access (we had to lift our luggage), no wine glasses

Location was excellent as it was only 5 mins walk from the SBB train station and train up to matterhorn viewing point. There are several restaurants nearby.Check-in was very smooth and fuss-free, we arrived early and left our luggage at the reception. When we returned later before check-in time, our luggage have been sent up to our room already. The room faced the inner courtyard which is quiet from the main street. Breakfast spread was great, comprising hot and cold food, with fruits and a good selection of bread. Overall, the stay was very pleasant.

The bathroom was slightly small, which didn't really matter as we only stayed for 1 night,

Great location just a block from the gornergrut train. Excellent facilities for storing ski and snowboard gear. Very comfortable room and very helpful staff. While we were skiing I twisted my knee and the staff was very helpful in finding me medical care and checking on me which was well beyond their responsibility but super helpful and nice. Also a very good and varied breakfast. Highly recommend!

Great location - just a short walk from the train station. Hotel provides transportation but after one try, we found it is not necessary and walking through the street was a lot more fun. Very clean. Provided every single toiletries and amenities there is.

Rooms are on the small side but suffice to move around. Wished that there were a bit more space to layout the luggage… We were on the 4th floor but still can hear people talking on the street. I do not think it is the hotel’s problem. The streets are small so sound travels fast.

Breakfast selection was lovely and able to cater to gluten free, ride to the train station with heavy baggage in snow appreciated and lovely bar and restaurant on site. Very quiet, considering the location - easy to sleep!

Water from the shower went all over the floor each time. The doors open with a key, not a smart card which I assume is for noise purposes as they are heavy doors however there were multiple instances when housekeeping unlocked and opened the door whilst we were in the shower in the morning without knocking and there was no sign for the door to say ready for housekeeping which made me feel rather uncomfortable due to a perceived lack of privacy.
