Staff brilliant. Rooms were very good on the whole too - some points, TV much larger than you normally get. Complimentary drink of port. Teas & coffees, also with a Nespresso type machine with 3 different coffees. An honesty box for crisps and few other bits. Nice towels in bathroom, with hand washes, shampoo, shower gel, conditioner. We didn't eat in, but the menu looked good, and the bar and tables areas looked clean and tidied up.

Only one small gripe, and that was the aircon unit just gave some occasional odd gurgling noises every so often ; this was when switched off. So when it is all quiet, and going to sleep you can tune in to any small noise...and this is what i heard. Only reason gave it an 8 not a 9 was because we couldnt comment on the food/bar as we didnt use it, but took one off for the aircon unit.

Excellent location in charming village. Staff attentiveness and service was excellent. Always offered a personal tailored service. Food quality was excellent and good drinks/wine offer at reasonable prices. I would recommend this Inn which provides a very pleasant and comfortable stay with a great Team.

The check out was a confusing as I had added an extra day to my stay and there were some unexpected room charges. Reception were polite and helpful and did their best to clarify and I paid a certain amount. I will need to go back to the general manager and confirm my final charges. Otherwise the staff couldn't do any more for us.

You can't help but be amazed at the place as you arrive, its such a lovely looking old building inside and out. Staff were very good and friendly. The evening meal was really tasty but the portion size was a little on the small side. The room I had was really nice and comfortable and had everything I needed, the ac was much needed as well. The best part for me was the breakfast, I stay away a lot and it's the best I've ever had. Will try and visit again when I'm over this way.

Sink was quite low in the bathroom, came to just above my knees. Shower head hung quite low as well and I'm only 5'9.

We stayed here as we were going to a wedding near by. The staff were very friendly, the rooms were comfortable and clean. We had breakfast each morning and had eaten there in the night and the food was delicious. They called before we were due to arrive to see if we needed anything in addition I:e taxis? Room service? Wake up calls. its in driving distance to visit nearby attractions, Stonehenge, sailsbury cathedral etc. We had a lovely stay and if for any reason we're in that area again, we would definitely stay again.

We have stayed here a lot of times we have noticed good and bad changes. Food was very good, dinner and breakfast. Dessert not so good. Breakfast was lovely the only thing was that pastries and cereals not included, it has to be one or the other, When we stayed here before you were allowed both. Especially if you are staying in a room within the hotel. We had to ask if we could have some toast with our meal. We even felt uncomfortable to ask as that was part of the continental breakfast. They need to charge an around price that includes both pastries and full English. We did enjoy our stay. We will be returning xx

We had a wonderful stay at The Bird in Hand Inn. It is everything you could hope for in a cosy cottage pub escape. The décor is spot on with beautiful furniture, a gorgeous bathroom, and all wrapped up in a charming old building that oozes character. Even our dog was spoiled with snacks and I kid you not his own tea. The pub downstairs is a gem in itself serving a truly excellent dinner. Sadly we had to miss breakfast due to an early departure but that just gives us the perfect excuse to come back.

Lovely location and building. We ate in the restaurant which was very good and the staff were charming so all good. Unfortunately our room was No. 5 ...avoid at all costs. It has loud aircon machines right outside the window a few feet away and even with double glazing there is a constant humming through the window and even louder in the bathroom. We probably will return as it was a lovely Youngs pub but next time I will ask for a room away from the aircon.

The breakfast was excellent. Couldn't wish for better. Fabulous quality and great menu choices plus a beautiful selection of delicious fresh fruits, pastries, cereal, juices and bread. We chose the location as we were meeting up with family nearby. But it's also a great location for exploring. The room was lovely, very welcoming and comfortable, with plenty of space too. A lovely visit and we'll be very happy to come again.

Hard to say if there was anything we didn't like. I guess the shepherds pie was finished by the time we ordered the first evening! But the burger was good.

Lovely charming building with history. Very nice room with nice touches like a coffee machine and shortbread biscuits left. Even had Netflix. Would definitely stay again and the price was £90 a night. A bargain as this is easily a £100 plus hotel

Check in and check out experience . Took ages for me to be seen and on checkout there was no conversation and did not even ask if my stay had been fine. Something they do even at a Travel lodge. Thought the evening meal was underwhelming. Famous for its steaks and at £38 I expected better. It was nothing special actually and when paying that price it was annoying to be charged extra for the sauce. Although all restaurants seem to do this now

Small room Housekeeping came during the day but not sure what they did other than fill up water and empty bins. Milk wasn't replenished, beds not made nor bathrooms cleaned etc Charge for having a dog was £20 per night which feel is very excessive as no extra cleaning done. Hot breakfast menu good but the breakfast table for cereal, fruit etc very poor. Kept saying they hadn't had their deliveries.
