The Pier House has been carefully renovated, and is a complete triumph. No corners have been cut by St Austell Brewery in renovating the pub and guest rooms above. The room was exceptionally decorated, and came with lovely little touches about the local area and beachside location. The staff are fantastic - friendly, attentive and personable. Breakfast was superb as was the evening meal that I had. The Beer House next door is a nice touch. I would certainly recommend this either for couples or solo walkers along the coast path.
Nothing. Fantastic stay.

The whole place is lovely as soon as you walk in, rooms are beautiful, clean and everything has been thought of. Dry robes and bags to borrow down to the radio playing relaxing music as you walk in the room. The two free beers in the fridge was a great welcome! Booked a table for dinner and the food was lovely. Again breakfast was stunning. All the staff were friendly. Couldn't fault it. Great weekend away!
Outside harbour noise which isn't the hotel’s fault, wind and rough seas caused a metal pontoon to bang through the night, just take some ear plugs!

Everything... from the first contact with the Pier House to checking out, all the staff went above and beyond to help. The location was perfect, one of my favourite areas in Cornwall.. The room was quiet and well positioned on the first floor, the bedroom and bathroom was on two levels, I would definitely request Room 3 again. We enjoyed our stay so much we extended our stay and stayed in Room 22 which was located on the second floor, this again was a fabulous room with the bathroom on the same level as the bedroom. Unfortunately, we had a medical emergency whilst staying at the Pier House, the staff were fantastic at helping and dealing with our emergency, they couldn't do enough for us. A Huge thank you to all the staff concerned.

Amazing views & location, refurbishment was done very well, comfortable, friendly, good food & ambience, comfortable bed, nice touches like use of dry robes & fresh milk for tea & coffee, given 2 free Cornish beers in fridge
Could have done with a light where the tea & coffee tray was & a hand towel hook in the bathroom, and there was a drainy smell in the bathroom on our arrival but it went as we used the room & aired it, maybe this could have been helped by being able to open the 2nd window which was painted shut? Small points really as we could hardly fault the place

We had heard good things about The Pier House and we were certainly not disappointed. The staff were very welcoming and friendly, especially Izzy who was on Reception when we arrived. Our room was amazing. It was very spacious, spotless and it had a lovely small window that we could have open and watch the sun rise each morning.
Unfortunately the breakfast on the first morning was disappointing. I ordered the Avocado Tomato Smash with Poached Eggs on Sourdough toast. The toast was black on the bottom to the point I could not cut it. No complaints were made, as I am not like that. However the independent toasting facilities made up for it. Please note this is the only fault I could find, which in the broader scheme of things is quite small.

This hotel/ restaurant/ pup is the nicest experience I had staying in Cornwall! I am in love with this place, the decor, the little details, the rooms, the restaurant and pup feel, it’s all very unique and very accommodating, it is just lovely…the bed is great too, the room is brand new and very clean! I loved it.
The only thing I would say is that they have lots of doors, as I was told, they had a fire 2 years ago and now they renovated the place but added lots of fire doors, but it’s quiet funny leaving your room to go down the “pup” there are signs everyone “to the pup” and it’s quiet exciting to follow them for some reason ;)

Choice of breakfast great Majority of staff lovely and professional Room size and cleanliness good General vibe of hotel lovely
Breakfasts…hot full breakfast on 2nd day not hot. All tepid, thankfully plates were hot. 2nd dinner on our 3rd night, lovely tasting roast however meat, parsnip, Yorkshire and potatoes delivered around 4 mins before vegetables. We had to start as again ingredients only tepid. Dessert menu offered but not bought - staff busy at larger tables so after ten mins we decided to go without. It would be good if condiments offered prior to any meals being delivered to minimise delays and foods going colder. On 3rd day left towels on floor and advised reception new needed. On return to room after full day walking found room tidied along with old wet towels folded back onto rails! This was very disappointing ☺️ issue resolved after visit to reception.

Great rooms with a bar/restauarant below. We loved our room upgrade - the Crow's Nest is a fantastic suite! The free Korev local lager is a nice touch, we were very appreciative of that. In terms of location, Charlestown is a lovely little village with plenty of eateries, a pretty little harbour and access to a coastal path that takes you to several beaches.
The only thing stopping me from giving this 10 stars is that the feather pillows are incredibly soft with zero neck support, so I slept poorly. That's just personal preference, of course.

The room itself was quite small, but enough for one person in general. Would be too small for two people especially if they have luggage. The bed was very comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast and dinner was also very good and it is generally a very nice atmosphere inside as well as outside.
There are about 7 doors or more to get through to get to your room if you are unlucky and they do make a bit of noise. I like that the hotel is dog friendly, but the dogs should be used to being at a strange place as during my second night a dog would not stop barking till around midnight. There are too many buttons for all the lights and at some point they occasionally would stop working- it was very confusing. There is essentially no space to put your clothes away except for a small space with 4 hangers.

The Pier House has recently been renovated and so everything is new. It is located at right at the end of Charlestown harbour so you can enjoy breakfast with the view of the sea rolling in. The staff is very friendly. We were in room 7 which has a little staircase up leading to the bedroom. The room has a coffee machine, stocked bar fridge, a desk with lamp, wardrobe and bedside tables with lamps and a radio. The bathroom has Elemis products. There is a la carte breakfast as well as continental buffet for you to enjoy. There is a bar where the restaurant is and turns into a lively social area in the evenings and weekends. The noise CANNOT be heard in the rooms.
The shower does splash out of the glassed area and so can be a little wet on the floor after a shower (even with the bathmat). Our room overlooked the top/roof of the kitchen area so there was some noise from the exhaust but this was not a big issue.
