On a mountain, overlooking Heidelberg, the view was fantastic. Breakfast is great with and excellent selection of dishes for every taste.
Although the hotel's restaurant provided tasty food, it failed to meet my expectations for a four-star establishment. I believe they provide consistent restaurant meals to accommodate the continuous flow of tourists. The meal did not offer a genuine gastronomic experience, and it did not provide value for money.

Stunning location, lovely sauna, fresh mountain air, comfortable room, stunning view of sunset - it was one of the first sunny weekends of Spring and lots of locals arrived by bike, car and bus to watch the sun set over the valley.
Liked everything but just to note the Funicular railway was closed for servicing Jan-March. Replacement bus service was good - half hour drive down to old town. Approx 20.euros for taxi from train station to hotel. We had rooms facing back over carpark ('mountain view') and I did feel slightly envious of the rooms with vistas over the valley.

The hotel overlooks the whole of Heidelberg. The views from our room were breathtaking - as we could see the town, the river and the Castle. We took a cruise down the river, which was wonderful. The hotel room was comfortable, with a balcony and those outstanding views. A fenicular was situated next to the hotel, which travelled down to the Castle and continued to the town. It was quick and very affordable. We ate in the hotel restaurant twice and the food was excellent, as was the service.
I like to eat cereal for breakfast, but the choice of cereal was limited. For anyone who likes a cooked breakfast there were more options available.

We loved this hotel. It’s in a beautiful setting with a wonderful view. The hotel is quite nice too. Looks pretty inside and out. The bed was so very comfortable and the room large with desk armchair and place to put your luggage. We ate at the hotel restaurant for dinner and were very pleased. The meal was good. The presentation lovely and the staff that served us was so nice. Also dessert!!! Many many desserts - and very good ones!! The breakfast offered was also very good. There was so much to choose from. We had initially booked for one night but extended our stay here an extra night as it was so lovely.
I don’t understand why hotels in Europe charge for parking. Especially when they are really only accessible by car ? It wasn’t a huge cost to pay but it’s odd?

Everything from it's breathtaking, central location to it's history. Rooms are top notch even if we have the mountain view side. Fresh linens on the beds, clean, dust free and very comfortable beds. Complimentary coffee, water, tea and chocolates are the cherries on top. The restaurant is 5 star. Cooked fresh, delicious, aesthetically served with huge portions. We do not drink alcohol and since it's a girls' night out, we said we'll give it a try. We asked the waitress what would she recommend us to go with our meal, she came back with two small samples of fresh tap beer for us to try. It was really fresh and it wasn't bitter at all, so we took up her recommendation. The staff is the crowning glory of this hotel. They are very pleasant, friendly and we felt right at home. Highly recommended.
Nothing. Everything is perfect.

The location is perfect - away from the town, but with the funicular giving access straight into town which saved having to drive down and park. The hotel is fabulous with clean, large, well equipped rooms. There is a room described as 'sauna' which also has 2 sunbeds outside - lovely for relaxing.
Expensive breakfast, so we ate elsewhere. We reserved parking in advance, but had we known there was plenty of free public parking just outside the hotel we wouldn't have paid for it.

Great location with stunning view over the city. Room very comfortable with tea and coffee making in the room. Restaurant was good with lovely staff and tasty reasonably priced food. Parking was available at a price if you need to have the car by the hotel but lots of free parking just 50m away. You get a discount on the funicular when showing your checking card from the hotel.
We didn't try breakfast as cost was around €25 so couldn't comment on if it was worth the expense

The location is very beautiful, at the top of the hill overlooking Heidelberg. It was newly remodeled and our rooms were very comfortable. The hotel is very clean and rooms are huge. We didn't take the breakfast option, as we were jetlagged and were afraid we would sleep through it. We thought we would take the funicular but it is hard to coordinate the times so we ended up driving into the city instead.
There is a parking but it is paid (and was empty). However, adjacent just off the property was a public parking lot. Also, google maps was not accurate and we kept driving into a trail.

Location and staff were great. My partner absolutely loved the view. This is our favorite place to stay in Heidelberg and it's a really special experience. The bartender and the staff on the reception and during breakfast were very helpful, respectful and pleasant. Rooms isolate sound very well. We stayed in the room that offered panorama view (balcony) and I highly recommend it!
Air conditioning in the rooms is super loud, we had to turn it off, and luckily we didn't need it because it wasn't very cold. In extreme weathers I think this might be a problem. There should really be a fix for this because it is honestly the only problem with the entire awesome hotel (also, my girlfriend wanted a mirror in the elevator)

The bedroom was quite big, very clean and well-decorated. Bathroom was great with shower and bath and lots of space. We also enjoyed the great views from the bedroom. The hotel is also very pet-friendly - they left some biscuits for the dog and you have the possibility of leaving the dog alone in the bedroom when you are out. Parking is easy and safe. Hotel's bar is also nice to have some drinks while watching the sunset.
I think charging 30€ for just making the bed for our son in the bedroom's sofa is a bit too much (also, it should be included in the price, when you book for 3 people).
