The warm reception, the tour of the place, the obvious enthusiasm of the staff for the building, and what has been created. The Sunday roast with one of the best gravies I have had and a melange of greens. The beer. The bathroom and rainfall shower, the wee nook of a bar upstairs for the six rooms. I liked it all. The room was small but very cosy and in keeping with the age of the building and more than compensated for by the wee nook.
That I didn't t honeymoon here many years ago to take full advantage of the deliciously squeaky cast iron bedframe.

The apartment was incredibly spacious and felt very decadent. Eclectically and tastefully furnished. Fabulous- 5 star accommodation, great service and delicious food
There was only one problem which we did mention to member of staff on check out. The apartment supplied two little glass bottles of milk in the fridge each cutely labelled by the hotel with a hand written tag; one, Cow and the other Oat. The problem was that they were incorrectly labeled ie. cow's milk was labelled 'oat' and vice versa. This is quite a serious mistake as one of our party is genuinely dairy-free due to a specific skin condition. She drank the cow's milk believing it was oat milk. We eventually noticed that something wasn't right but unfortunately too late. She has since had a skin breakout. This was really disappointing and we would suggest that the perhaps the oat milk is kept in its original container. Other than that we had an amazing experience.

Aaron the assistant manager was super friendly when checking us in and showing us around. All staff we encountered were really friendly. Added thoughtful touches like the earplugs and tote bag for use during the stay were cute. Reggie’s “mini bar” was a lovely little place to chill with a cuppa (or something stronger if you prefer). Breakfast was simple, basic but great quality - croissants were delicious!

Loved how quirky the building is and how much attention went into every detail - little hand written notes, a lounge room with tea, coffee and snacks. The staff are absolutely wonderful, so friendly. Breakfast included and was delicious, and the pub for dinner was also one of the best I’ve had in the uk. Highly recommend

LOVED this gorgeous place and will definitely come back and also recommend to others! There are no en suite facilities in the hug majority of rooms, but they do the best they can with what they have, and it's not a HUGE problem for a short weekend stay. Yummy breakfast, amazing Bloody Mary, great dinner, and nice staff!
I think it could be a tad more obvious that there are no en-suite bathrooms in the rooms, as it is quite easy to miss this info when booking .

Absolutely beautiful! Food and drinks were great. Loved their cocktail menu. Staff could not have been lovelier. Everyone was so welcoming and friendly. We really liked the minibar room upstairs it was so unique.
We knew the toilet for our room was in a separate room which was fine, but the loo for our room was so tiny it was actually quite difficult to use. We loved everything about our stay except that.

Breakfast, location, atmosphere were all very nice. The staff was very friendly. We had dinner at the hotel and we were really positively surprised about the quality and price. The overall vibe of the place was very pleasant.
Not that is was a big problem, but due to the age of the building , it wasn't possible to have ensuite bathrooms for all the rooms. Just something to take into account when you book here.

the hotel is gorgeous, well kitted out and unique. our room had a bath, beautiful comfy bed and was stunningly decorated. the general facilities are amazing - fresh coffee, biscuits and an honour-based bar on the corridor with the rooms as well as a range of separate bathrooms, shower rooms and toilets. lovely pub and incredible location
if you aren’t super comfortable with the person you are staying with, our toilet was only separated from room by a curtain (but there were other shared toilets). also Sunday roast in the pub was the worst I’ve had

Fantastic stay, perfect location right next to the sea front but not on a main road so it felt a little bit more local. Gorgeous staff who couldnt have been more attentive but never felt intrusive or like we were being watched. They just appeared when you needed them. Wonderful selection of drinks, brilliant atmosphere despite have a wedding the night before the whole place was spotless. We stayed in the snug which was perfect and cosy, with access to the mini bar room which felt special.
That we couldnt stay longer :(

Heart House is a work of art full of beautifully up cycled furniture and homewares to create a bespoke experience. I particularly loved the gold leaf effect in the holes in the plaster walls on the stairs and the wonky wooden floorboards. Our room was sumptuous decorated with palm leaves and gold. The bed was extremely comfortable with a multitude of pillows and cushions. I was a little worried about sharing a bathroom but it was to die for! Loved the plants and the decor and the huge walk in shower. There was a cute little snug upstairs which served as a well stocked residents bar with a good selection of teas and coffees and snacks (relying on honesty for the alcohol) The continental breakfast came as a welcome surprise as the booking didn't mention it. The pub was very warm and welcoming on a cold evening so we spend the evening here then just sauntered upstairs to bed. The George and Heart is in a perfect location just across the road from the old town, beyond which is the seafront and The Turner Contemporary. All on your doorstep
We couldn't find a socket in the room to charge up our phones but we'd brought portable chargers. There was no parking here but a few minutes walk up the hill was a long stay car park.
