Wonderful location and overall beautiful hotel. We had a nice evening walk around the area and loved the feel of the hotel and the location. Nice looking hotel.

Traveling partner fell on a ramp that was right in front of the door to her room and hurt her foot-black and blue. With the light there you truly could not see the ramp. Would be great to have a warning sign/lighting to see the ramp for tired travelers just arriving. Beds were very soft but still nice (we had just finished a camping trip).

I had multiple opportunities to adjust my room, it's view and add items to be pre-stocked in the room for an incredibly reasonable price. They have a luggage room to store bags prior to check in should you have a gap in stays. The heated floors in the bathroom are perhaps one of the nicest things I've ever experienced especially after a cold Swedish night. The building is old and full of character, the River Klarä is just outside, the central square is a few steps away. Stay here if you want some really high-class!

The property is in the perfect location when staying in Sweden's sunny city! We stayed in the double room with lake view. The room was beautifully decorated, clean and had a luxurious feel to it. The view of the river Klarälven was stunning. The buffet breakfast was delicious and there were many options to choose from! It is central and close to most of the attractions in Karlstad! I highly recommend this hotel.

Our room in the new building was modern and fresh. Stylish bathroom. Great rooftop bar, good quality breakfast. Bishop Arms restaurant on the ground floor has the best location in town.

We had a room in the new building on the 1st floor facing the roof of the garage and the ventilators (from the restaurant kitchen). Half of all rooms have this view. The choice is: get a much more expensive room with river view or an identical room facing the ventilators (which are unfortunately too loud to open the window in the evening/night). It’s a big challenge to find the gym :) Buildings are connected to each other and it’s a labyrinth inside, no proper signs. No soap in the bathroom to wash the hands. There is shampoo and conditioner on the wall of the shower but no soap/ soap dispenser at the sink - how is this even possible in a 4-star hotel?

Location, for Karlstad unbeatable. Paid for a river view but well worthwhile. The cruising teenagers (you can drive at 15 in Sweden with a training triangle and 6 or more kids will get into a car and go cruising the city centre with very loud sound systems to show off. Unfortunately the block around the hotel is quite popular if it does not go all night. Breakfast buffet bountiful and good quality, but a (polite) scrum of diners: took longer to figure out what was where and get it to table than to eat it. A not uncommon problem but heightened by a jampacked room. Still, a value if you have the time and patience.

The hotel is a very strange warren of two conjoined buildings and navigating is long and frustrating. Everyone has to get to 1st floor ( not ground) to communicate between restaurants and upstairs' terrace and rooms can be a long complicated journey from reception.

The location is excellent, and the rooms are comfortable. The hotel's core is an old beautiful building with old features, such as al fresco painting and interior details intact in some areas. It gives the hotel a little bit of character.

The hotel is quite expensive for a small town with few tourist attractions. The new locations, which form the greater part of the hotel, lack the character of the old-fashioned classic hotel.

Staff were great. Accommodated my requests and were very friendly. The Gym having a cable machine and pull-up bar was spot-on. This is much better than most gyms.

You don't get a double-duvet as standard. This is a pet hate of mine. I hate having a double bed with 2 single mattresses - just cough up and get a double duvet for all double beds.

Breakfast was excellent quality with many choices. This is an elegant historic property in a great central location in Karlstad. The staff at the front desk was especially lovely. My husband came down with a cold and they took time to look up the closest pharmacy for me and write down the address so I could find it easily.

No complaints, we enjoyed our stay here

The check-in was incredible. I was arriving very late and the staff had my keys ready prior to arrival and were incredibly courteous! The breakfast was a veritable cornucopia of delightful foods. The view from my balcony was absolutely gorgeous

I have nothing ill to say towards the Elite. About the only thing I might say is that the main entrance is a little hard to find

perfect location. 5 minutes walk to stora torget where you can find all the busses to various locations (i.e. karlstad university, 10 minutes by bus no 1). comfortable room. don’t forget to bring your own slippers. perfect breakfast. very friendly and helpful staff. and the oscar goes to: the restaurant of the hotel. bishop’s arms. eat fish&chips there.
