Bed was firm and comfortable. Very quiet. Beautiful building and grounds. Coffee, tea, snacks available in kitchen.

Room was hot when I arrived. I had to turn on all 3 AC units. Did not like that the bathroom was across the hall. I missed that in the room description (room 8 - 3rd floor). Most of the rooms do have a bathroom inside the main room. No food for breakfast during the week however there is a kitchen with coffee and bagged snacks. If you want breakfast on a week day you have to walk across town to the sister hotel. There was NO mirror in the room. Hated having to cross the hall everytime I needed it. It would have been nice to have a bathrobe provided in rooms with an exterior bathroom.

There was plenty of space. Our rooms were in an adjacent building, but the main building had several rooms that were decorated for the holidays. We took full advantage of the common space and, to be honest, were the only ones we saw using it most of the time. The rooms were comfortable. They had fireplaces/woodstoves but they did not seem to be operable. Check in and breakfast was in a nearby sister location, which was not too inconvenient, but the weather was mild. There was plenty of coffee, etc. on our property. We happily opened Christmas presents by the inn's tree, which was nice. Breakfast was "continental" but nicely presented.

We totally understand the difficulty and cost of running a business like this, but the absence of staff was at times difficult and unsettling. Simple things like understanding how the heating systems worked, how to access the TV, how to work the fireplace, etc. was difficult to discover without available staff. I eventually got a staff member on the phone, but a text I sent (their stated preferred method of communication) was never answered.

The Dewey is perfectly located up the hill from Lenox town center. We stayed in the Carriage House Queen which we found very cozy and even had a working fireplace. The main house had everything you could need for a perfect stay. I really enjoyed hanging out in the library when I wasn't exploring the surrounding towns.

This isn't really on the Dewey as I know it's an old carriage house. But the room we stayed in had another larger room above it and you could hear everything. When the other couple was in the carriage house they were very noisy.

Well located

Very steep and narrow stairs, which I get for it’s an old house. Was just not easy for us elderly when carrying the luggage up to the 3rd floor

Fantastic location in Lenox. The Dewey is a beautiful historic inn and a lovely place to stay. Rooms are very comfortable. We really appreciated being moved to room 12 as the fridge was very useful. Breakfast was simple but adequate, and we enjoyed it. Granola, yoghurt, fresh blueberries, blueberry muffins, bagels and English muffins.

A kettle in your room would greatly improve the level of comfort!

The fresh berries for breakfast were lovely. We enjoyed the large reading room. The bed was comfortable.

It's inconvenient to check in at a different location than the Dewey itself. We hadn't anticipated carrying our bags up very steep stairs to the third floor. We had not anticipated having a bathroom across the hall, even though it was our private bathroom.

Close proximity to Tanglewood & town.

I would have appreciated a full breakfast, rather than continental. No attached bathroom. Even though it was just across the hall, it was inconvenient to dress appropriately. Also, other patrons would try to use thinking it was a community bathroom.

Brenda makes this place worth returning to

when things go wrong, which they always do, there’s no recourse there’s no one to call there’s no front desk it’s disconcerting. It’s disturbing to have to close the front door in the middle of the night multiple times because the wind has blown it open and no one else is there.

A beautiful old house in a great location a short walk from town, the staff were very helpful and friendly. The bed was super comfortable!! A basic Continental buffet breakfast is served, pastries or muffins wrapped in cling film, fresh fruit, cereal, tea or coffee.

If you want a hot breakfast this is served at another hotel in Lenox at additional cost. All rubbish/trash went in the same bin, there was no option to recycle!!

Breakfast was great. The grounds were wonderful and the location near the old hill top church and grave yard were superb. Overall, the location, historic setting and hotel interior were awesome!

Being on the 3rd floor was a small inconvenience.
