We stayed in the King Suite (No. 10). An exceptional room; huge comfy bed, lovely bath in centre of room, with seemingly brand new en-suite. The hotel itself is classy and well kept. The living room and dining room are beautiful. Breakfast was excellent, although not included in room rate. Staff in the hotel are lovely. Location is perfect - very central.
The bar, which is separate to the hotel, is not classy in any way. The football was on and it was full of dogs. We were charged £9.50 for a G&T and a pint of lime and soda. The G&T looked like it had been served in Wetherspoons. Garbage. We didn’t stay long as we thought it was a bit rough around the edges. It’s very different to the hotel which is a shame. We ate at The Yan down the road which was beautiful. Our room had no door to the en-suite, so that may put some people off as you can’t really use the toilet with any privacy.

On arrival we had been left an envelope with room details. The hotel was warm and cosy with lovely Christmas decor. Our room was clean and plenty of tea/coffee, milk and cookies. A lovely box of chocolates were also complimentary. There was a slight mix up with eating arrangements and the bar staff at Tweedies were lacking customer service. The two ladies who worked in the lodge made up for that. They worked extremely hard, hospitality 10/10. We also learned they had no receptionist so that's why just an envelope left for us on arrival.
Breakfast was very nice, lots of choice and tasty. If I had to be picky, I'd say my poached eggs were like golf balls. I do prefer them less cooked. Overall breakfast was quickly served, very hot & presented nicely.

Lovely characterful property, furnishings & decoration ‘in keeping’ with the tweed theme without being over-done Large room (we were upgraded) with great double-aspect & view. Very comfortable bed & bedding. Good shower & bathroom products Excellent breakfast, lovely breakfast room Food in Tweedies bar was also very good
One minor ‘blip’ - later in the afternoon of our arrival another couple had been allocated the same room & given the key! They entered to find us already in the room! This error was quickly sorted, thankfully without any embarrassment!

The location was excellent, right in the heart of Grasmere and the room, although small was very clean and comfortable. We loved the toiletries provided which smelt amazing and there was plenty of tea, coffee etc. We were very happy with the room. We had breakfast included in the rate we paid and it was fantastic. We had the full English both mornings and the produce used was excellent quality.
The food in the restaurant on our second evening was disappointing. We had fish & chips and the batter was very soggy. The chips were also quite hard.

Location is ideal in central Grasmere. The breakfast and evening meals were extremely tasty with plenty of choice. Staff are efficient and friendly. The mews are perfect if you have pets, the communal hot tub, a bonus after long hikes. The place has a lively but relaxed feel. Awesome beer garden if you are lucky with the weather.
Smell from the kitchen whilst sat out in the mews communal area and in bed (sky light was open, though). Our second stay here didn't notice this last year.

Central ,everything on the doorstep . Room -mews ,nice and inviting!could do with a fridge and softer mattress. Nice breakfast and setting is beautiful. Nice hot tub !!!
Card only at the bar /restaurant. Bar no character ,not a lot of seating and very busy. If you are eating it’s not really pleasurable as it’s like you’re on a night out environment . If you’re travelling with a dog you need to get to the bar early to get a seat even though they don’t start serving till half five or otherwise you need to sit outside. Breakfast area if travelling with a dog there’s only three tables so that also needs to be timed well.

Great breakfast Superb Location brilliant facilities very helpful staff Residents lounge fantastic and dog friendly
Didnt realise that the accomodation was on 2 levels - husband awaiting knee replacement so unable to cope with stairs to access bathroom - very easily sorted as bed settee made up for us however that made the downstairs very cramped. We did initially think we had a ground floor room opening onto its own terrace and garden access - didn't fully understand that this was an outdoor space shared by 4 rooms, however on this occasion it did not present a problem as no one was using the hot tub or outdoor space confusion over booking of breakfast - this has changed since we booked and the staff sorted our issue out to our satisfaction The price of meals in the bar seemed very high - however the quality of the food is excellent

Lovely room comfy bed and the residents lounge was a really good place to sit and read the Sunday paper. Great that there were restrooms on that floor so we didn’t have to return to the room. Plenty of parking and a really central location so everything was walkable once we had checked in. Beautiful toiletries, I found the website and ordered the hand wash.
Breakfast was enjoyed by my husband but not by myself. Smoked bacon isn,t something that agrees with me and the eggs and black pudding were both very underdone. I saw ‘pastries’mentioned, but apart from croissants there were no baked goods. I rarely have a meal put in front of me that I haven’t made myself, so I was disappointed by breakfast, but appreciate that it’s hard to get it right for everyone.

This was a last minute booking after having to check out of a minging holiday cottage. We went to the hotel much earlier than checkin time and they were amazing. They checked if our room was ready and let us checkin early and get a shower. This hotel is so welcoming and all the staff from reception, bar and restaurant were the best. Our breakfast service was great too as were our evening meals which were cooked to perfection 🥰 Thank you to everyone who helped to rescue our long weekend. We can't wait to return
There was nothing to dislike. It was all perfect

Our room was very kindly upgraded and the room facilities were excellent. Beautiful hotel and very comfortable. Good size room and bed big and comfortable. Beautiful bathroom with all the toiletries you could need. Staff were excellent and very helpful. We ate in their restaurant and the meal was excellent and good value. Restaurant does get busy very quickly so would recommend booking before stay. Good secure parking in the hotels grounds.
Nothing.
