From the very beginning, our experience at Villa Thalanena was exceptional. The staff went above and beyond — helping us with the language, greeting us warmly every morning and evening. Their genuine friendliness made the place feel like a cozy, welcoming home rather than just a hotel. The villa itself is spotless and beautifully maintained. We were delighted to find fresh fruits provided daily, and everything from the rooms to the stunning pool was in perfect condition. The breakfast each morning was delicious and thoughtfully prepared — a real highlight of the stay. What truly sets this place apart is the nature around it. Tucked away from the noise of the cities, it’s a perfect retreat to unwind and reconnect. The beach, just a short walk away, was incredibly clean and nearly empty — it felt like our own private paradise. Having a car made it easy to explore the nearby attractions, all within a short drive, but honestly, we were always happy to return to the peace and quiet of the villa. If you’re looking for relaxation, comfort, and genuine hospitality — this is the place. We’ll definitely be back.

Beautiful place hidden in Ao Thalane, not far from the beach. Very welcoming. Great breakfast. We loved it.

If there was one critic, the pool was very cold but we loved our stay there.

If you're looking for a little, secluded paradise in the midst of the jungle, not overcrowded with tourists and the friendliest staff you could possibly imagine, Villa Thalanena is just the right place. Hopping in the pool right in front of the apartment during a hot day and having a delicious dinner at the restaurant is what helped us recharging. Whenever we had a question or problem the staff would do their best to help us right away. Lovely people :)

If I say secluded, I mean it. There really isn't much going on in this area, so you might better plan your days or be ready to really relax, not doing much at all. However, for us it worked really well.

1. Employees were very hospitable. 2. On the morning of our check out date, monkeys were at our villa when we opened the curtain. Our child was so excited. 3. Coffee quality in villa exceeded our expectations. 4. Close to this area, you can enjoy kayak, sunset and great food.

1. Quality and refilling level of wet amenities can be improved. 2. It is hard to manage AC and TV (but employees resolved the issue). 3. Beach access was a hassle as there were no clear indication of private space and hotel space. We were educated by the private owner (the space used to be part of hotel) and he should have communicated with the hotel instead of blaming us. This made us feel frustrated and we did not go back to the beach again.

All was amazing. Staff was very kind and responsive. The location near the beach, in a calm, peaceful area is great. The location is in a calm, rural Thailand. The pier is near, ideal to take a boat to Koh Hong, or kayaking. The owners are very nice. You will have a Tuk Tuk to go to the pier for example. The restaurant is good. Breakfast are huge. The mattress is little bit on the firm side, as always in Asia. The excursions proposed are very good. It was a really nice stay, one of this places that make you think, I would stay longer or I should come back.

Wow, we loved this place. It is away from the hustle and bustle with gorgeous surrounding bush and the beach very close by (2 minute walk). The manager Don & staff were great. The property is so well set out, and the villas are exceptional and very clean with small little touches throughout and so spacious. The private pool was stunning and so clean. The breakfast spread we had in our room was over the top. So much food, we felt guilty not eating it all and so fresh and tasty. So much to choose from and all included in the price. We could not fault this place. It is a distance from the larger towns/beaches but the comfortable air-conditioned van/taxi they provide is very reasonably priced and the tuk tuk to the local community close by is free. Loved the music they play in the surroundings and the whole atmosphere.

I would like to thank all the staff for their hospitality and services,we felt the staff like a family, We really had a great time and nice memories enjoying the peaceful atmosphere and the beautiful scenery, enjoying in the nature by kayaking, which is hotel can provided optional. The food in the restaurant was tasty. special thanks to Mr. Don for his cooperation and assistance during our stay. Strongly i recommended this hotel and i will visit again in the future.

TV is old and has no wifi. Few furniture required upgrade. Wifi in some areas is weak. The doors lock of the rooms are classic type and required to be easy to open and close by digital card.

If you're looking for a peaceful getaway to escape work stress, this is the perfect spot. It's secluded, surrounded by nature, and even has adorable tiny squirrels roaming the trees and fences. When we entered our room, we were greeted by a wonderful, fresh scent. Breakfast can be ordered from a menu and enjoyed either in the resort’s restaurant or through room service. We had a wonderful breakfast in our villa. The plunge pool offers a cool, refreshing dip, and the beach is just a 1-2 minute drive away via their complimentary tuk-tuk service. While the beach isn’t ideal for swimming, it’s perfect for relaxing by the shore, watching the sunset and enjoying the fresh sea breeze. The staff are incredibly friendly and accommodating. We were warmly welcomed by Don and the rest of the hotel staff. Although I couldn’t book my cooking class with other travel agency due to time constraints (we were leaving the next day), Don arranged for me to have a cooking class at their restaurant, just a short complimentary tuk-tuk ride from the resort. It was an amazing experience with their cheerful and welcoming team. Overall, we had a fantastic stay at the resort—great cooking class, friendly staff, delicious food, and a relaxing atmosphere.

We wish we could have stayed an extra night, unfortunately, our flight was the next day! :) Just a heads-up, expect some mosquitoes since the area is surrounded by plants and trees—true nature vibes. Don’t forget to bring mosquito repellent lotion or spray!
