The location of this hotel is fantastic, right near Piazza Maggiore. The hotel was extremely comfortable if rather dated. The breakfast selection was good

The "scrambled" eggs were appalling. More like chopped up omelette that had been sitting out from the beginning of service. At a hotel like this either the eggs should be freshly Madde or made to order. The waitstaff also never asked me if I wanted milk in a jug for my T and were often slow at offering coffee. The hotel decor is also quite dated and could really use a modern touch. We also couldn't shift the air-conditioning and it was far too hot overnight to open the balcony doors

Room was a good size with a nice view from the balcony. Excellent central location for hotel. Good, prompt taxi booking service.

Both air conditioning fan and fridge fan were noisy at night and had to be switched off. Limited choice of hot food for breakfast. On most days the scrambled egg was overcooked / looked as if stuck to pan? and you had to pay extra for any other hot eggs (fried, poached, omelette, etc), The limited fresh fruit had to be peeled / cut yourself - resulting in sticky fingers needing a visit to washroom. No fresh large loaves of bread (brown or white), just small white rolls and unfrozen sliced bread!!

Excellent location, central for the Piazzi Maggiori and exploring beautiful Bologna . Couldnt have been better. Breakfast was very good with plenty of choice. I liked that it was served until 10.30am. Staff friendly and helpful. The hotel was a good standard although my bathroom needed updating...chipped bath and mouldy grouting. However, it had a lovely power shower.

My main complaint was I could hear the people in the next room...they had a radio/TV on all night so didn't sleep the first night at all. My room was rather small and looked out onto an alley so rather disappointing. Also, when I booked I thought the hotel had a roof terrace but found out that it was only certain rooms which had their own terrace. Slightly disappointed with that. As already mentioned, my bathroom needed updating with the chipped bath and mouldy grouting

Ten steps and you're on Piazza Maggiore. A ten-minute walk and you're in the heart of the university district. Half an hour's leisurely stroll under the porticoes and you're at the station. Hotel Roma is the perfect place to enjoy Bologna. Friendly and helpful staff, comfortable bed, generous continental breakfast, good Wi-Fi—what more could you want? The interior of this hotel is such that it fills you with a sense of calm and history.

The only minor-minor comment is about the size of the shower cabins—thin and fit people won't notice it, but I found it a bit cramped around the hips... :)

We had a pleasant stay at this centrally located hotel in the heart of Bologna's historic center. The location is truly unbeatable—everything from major landmarks to charming local shops and restaurants was just a short walk away. Breakfast was enjoyable, offering a nice variety to start the day. The real highlight, however, was the staff—extremely polite, friendly, and always ready to help with recommendations or anything we needed. Overall, a great choice if you're looking to explore Bologna on foot and want to be in the center of it all.

The room was spotlessly clean and well-maintained, although quite compact. It was a bit of a tight fit for two people with luggage in the double room, but manageable for a short stay. The price felt a little high for the room size, but considering that accommodations seemed to be fully booked during that period, it was somewhat understandable.

Well located, central, 2 mins walk from Pizza Maggiore. I had a comfortable room on 4th floor with a little balcony, useful to be on higher floor recessed from street noise at night. It was very hot and the floor mounted AC unit did its job. Bathroom was spacious and shower worked well. Bedding jus ok. There were good restaurants around within 10-15 mins walk. Hotel is 20-20 min ride in taxi from airport (about 25-30 euros).

Reception area and hall are small and not appealing. The breakfast was underwhelming both food, service and room.

Super central location, but away from too much hectic bustle. Historical settings and sitting areas. Calm, efficient, helpful and charming staff. Pleasant, interesting decor. Great breakfast

House keeping was slow - my second floor room was not cleaned until mid/late afternoon. The internet frustratingly dropped a couple of times. The staff tried to rectify it, but in the end I went out for a while to leave them to it. When I returned it was sorted.

Excellent location right nearby Piazza Maggiore, nice and quiet, good bed, WiFi worked fine and was reliable. Many good restaurants in the area as well.

The breakfast was solid but could perhaps have needed some variation, and you typically have to keep a lookout and flag a waiter down in order to ask for a coffee (for those who prefer a more typical Italian "coffee & cornetto"-style breakfast, a place like Cafe Terzi, a few minutes' walk away, can be recommended).

The location of the hotel is perfect and it is charming. It is right in the centre near to all the restaurants and attractions. The hotel room size and bathroom were excellent. The staff were extremely helpful and pleasant to deal with.

The room was at the back of the hotel so there was no view. There was building work going on in the hotel which was noisy one day and started at 9. The breakfast buffet was fine but could have been better. I was disappointed that there was no access to the roof terrace as on the website as I was looking forward to seeing the view from there.

A beautiful gracious, older hotel, beautifully decorated with its era in mind. Well maintained. Very adequate bedroom and bathroom. Great breakfast with plenty of choice and really great central location near main piazza. Taxi easily obtainable with staff support to get to train station but could walk there if you wanted. Staff very polite, obliging and helpful. Would make it my choice if staying in Bologna.
