The breakfast was adequate - basic, varied, but edible, very clean and well kept area and you could view the kitchen area as it was a glass visual wall. The pool is very small but lovely temperature to cool down, and sunbeds few but available. The roof top offered a very hot tub and sunbeds, seats and beds. It was warm up there. The roof top bar officially opened at 6pm was a great little bar with food and drinks available - cocktails, beer, soft drinks and talented bar staff. (special mention to Jackie) The reception staff (Valerie / Laven to name just two) but all were helpful and lovely. Our room was ok but I did see better ones (211) our balcony was in a good sun spot) and the rooms were cleaned daily. The hotel itself is a small friendly boutique hotel and good to meet people and can offer meals all day. 5 minutes to the beach - what a sunset , opposite a bar, next to a hidden shabby chic bar Kinzo, near several eating places, Mosaic and Minavan burgers well worth a visit, lovely little gem.
Patio doors were a challenge to open and close, air con took a while but did help a lot eventually, and the shower took ages to warm up (you would not want it too hot) and it was often cold before the end of a short shower, luckily it was so hot in March we managed quite well. We used another shower on the last day as we were unable to keep our room as long as we needed it understandably, and it was excellent!!! Would have LOVED a fridge I yearned for cold water.

We had a lovely stay at Seastar. The staff were so friendly and helpful, and even prepared a breakfast for us when we planned a day trip to Ile Aux Cerfs and had to leave before the breakfast buffet started. The location was good being close to the beach as well as some lovely restaurants. We thought this was great value for money and would definitely recommend.
The only slight negative was the cleanliness of the room; it was fine, but it wasn’t pristine. Hard to clean places didn’t look like they had been cleaned in a while, and there was a drains smell in the bathroom. This didn’t impact our stay though, and we would stay again.

Travellers from Australia. We stayed there several nights and it was perfect for us. We really enjoyed the attention and assistance from the staff! They couldn't do enough for us and made us feel so welcome. The bar and restaurant staff were fabulous, and we really enjoyed the Sega Dance and BBQ night. The buffet breakfast and dinners were so yum. We had a hotel room on the top floor, which had a spa/jacuzzi, and the ground floor pool was beautifully clean. The benefit of this hotel is that it is right off the main street, near the beach and supermarket, ATMs, near bus stops and restaurants. There is delicious street food available along the main street along Flic en Flac beach (sooo cheap and there is a real vibe with all the families coming out on the weekend with their picnics and stereos). It is quite cheap to hire your own driver, by Australian standards, and we also caught the bus like the locals all the way to Port Louis for something different. Whilst we stayed at some very expensive resorts all around Mauritius, we really enjoyed the personal touch of the staff. They felt like friends.
It is 3 floors with no elevators as it is a 'boutique' hotel, but the staff will carry your bags.

We really loved this hotel. All the property was clean, beautifully set up with plants and decorations and well maintained. All staff was super friendly and had good language skills. Room has a nice size, bed was comfy and shower and toilet are in separate rooms, which was comfortable. Room was very clean. Breakfast was super tasty and huge choice, nicely set up restaurant and terasse to eat. The hotel cat was friendly and cute. You can reach the beach and some shops and restaurants by foot, which makes it easy for dinner etc. One evening they offered buffet for 950 MR p.P. It was super tasty and we had Mauritius dance show in the end. We really liked it and can recommend to join!
Things for improvement: faucet in the sink of bathroom was tight (hard to adjust), flushing tank from toilet was leaky, sometimes bad smell in the toilet, poolboy should not clean the pool during "best weather-time" (11 in the morning), better early morning, so that guests can use the pool, when it's sunny and warm. Would be nice if from time to time a waiter would come to the pool to take drink orders.

Location is excellent, very near to the beach, supermarket and restaurants/ bars. Breakfast very nice, every day besides general stuff, there was also something new and different. Personal very kind and helpful, especially Valerie. We felt ourselves very welcome and as in home. Daily bottles of still and sparking water, coffee and some small sweet treats were available and were nice touch. We had a late flight and were still able to use everything after check out of the room- pool, jacuzzi, restaurant, bar. In addition to luggage storage room, there was also a bathroom available so it was really convenient. Thanks a lot again to everybody in Seastar hotel who made our stay wonderful!
nothing, everything was great

We loved the staff they were incredible. Patient, knowledgeable of the area and professional. We were greeted on arrival with some light refreshments which we needed after a long flight from the UK. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the food was lovely. The breakfast buffet, which was included in our stay, was varied and well prepared. They had nights with live music and all you can eat buffet for a reasonable price of about £14. We particularly enjoyed the Sega Night. The location was perfect. 30 seconds from the supermarket and 1 min from the beach. The transport links were great too as the bus stop was about a 2 min walk from hotel.
Only small thing was the water pressure of the shower when using the hot water settimg wasn't great, but to be fair you welcomed a cold shower at the end of the day. And as two ladies travelling we could've have done with some more storage solutions, like a chest of drawers in the room.

location is nice, the hotel overall is good especially if you plan to do adventures and tours during your stay. The restaurant is also good. They do parties at night, this can be either a positive or a negative depending on you. We were a bit bothered by the music because we wanted to sleep early after our hikes or tours. The parties seem nice and with good food but music is very loud.
There is no coffee machine in the room. That can be fine but there is also no coffee machine in the hallway. The breakfast opens at 7:30AM and it is very strict opening therefore any coffee you may want becomes available at 7:30. If you have early tours or hikes as we did (6AM), there is no way you can get coffee. They are very strict with this, was not even allowed to go in and take a coffee that it was there, ready, at 7:25. The rooms are very small, if you want to open 2 large luggage it is quite challenging. They do parties at night, this can be either a positive or a negative depending on you. We were a bit bothered by the music because we wanted to sleep early after our hikes or tours. The parties seem nice and with good food but music is very loud.

We had a wonderful stay at this boutique hotel, which is perfectly located in the city centre, just a short walk to the public beach and many local restaurants. The rooms are beautifully decorated, offering a lovely pool view. While the bathroom was a bit small, it was well-equipped and comfortable. Breakfast was tasty, with a nice selection of fresh fruits, eggs, ham, and pastries. The staff were incredibly friendly and always willing to help, making the stay even more enjoyable. The pool area was also a great spot to relax. The only minor downside was that the hotel lobby and restaurant were not well air-conditioned, which made them feel a bit warm at times. Overall, a fantastic experience – I’d definitely stay here again!

Decent boutique style hotel located within walking distance of the seafront and beach. Staff were very pleasant and most helpful, rooms were very clean, showers excellent, and there is both a swimming pool at the front (unused) plus a very handy rooftop terrace complete with Jacuzzi which we utilised a few times. From a location perspective, the hotel is also close to a large supermarket and a few bars and restaurants. The staff were also very helpful as we had an evening flight the day we left so we were able to check out of our rooms, they stored our luggage, and I was even able to change and have a shower before leaving later in the afternoon.
Sadly the "fridges" were pretty woeful, and we were told it was for Eco-reasons. However, if you have a fridge, then it needs to be cold; or simply don't bother having one. Similarly, the aircon units seemed to lack a bit of "grunt" & had annoying default settings, presumably again for Eco-reasons, and although we both had balconies as part of our deal, neither were used as my son's overlooked a busy street and mine was adjacent to another room's corner balcony; ergo, no privacy. The only other minor niggle was the hotel bar shut at 2200 most nights, and since we are both late birds, then we had to go out to drink instead.

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at Seastar Hotel. The staff were very welcoming and kind. The hotel itself is beautifully decorated and has a nice atmosphere. The room is adequately sized, modern, clean and very comfortable beds. The breakfast buffet was delicious. We stayed here for four days and enjoyed a variety of dishes each morning. We also booked a buffet dinner and sega show where we were able to enjoy a delicious spread of Mauritian food and fun entertainment. It's a 5 minute walk to the beach from the Hotel and there are some restaurants within 5 - 10 walking distance from the hotel. The bus stop is also nearby. Good value for money.
Sound proofing in the rooms is not so great. I could hear noises from the reception area in the early morning. The bathroom is on the smaller side, but otherwise it's perfectly fine.
