The location was excellent - just a short walk or an even shorter shuttle ride from the slopes. The breakfast was delicious and had great options, both Japanese and Western. The public onsen was lovely and I also had an excellent massage (with the option of having it in my room or the massage room). The rooms were very spacious and clean, and all the staff we spoke to were super friendly.

The restaurants weren't as good as some of the other options in Niseko - but still nice. The boot room could do with being warmer/ having boot warmers, but otherwise was very good, with spacious lockers.

Location close to gondola bases, convenience store, restaurants/cafes. On-site ski concierge with all equipment/clothing hire at a competitive price. Front office and housekeeping staff were extremely helpful, friendly and kind. Onsen was excellent. 2 bedroom apartment with Mt Yotei views was so comfortable, clean and spacious, with plenty of storage and the biggest king bed we’ve ever seen! Coffee pod machine in the room was a lifesaver, coffee was delicious. Welcome fruit platter.

What appeared to be the restaurant supervisor at ‘Hirafuzaka’ was not friendly and he was just plain rude at times, which was a real shame as the other staff were pleasant, friendly and helpful. The kitchen in the apartments could have been better stocked with things like teatowels, basic cooking utensils, washing up detergent, drying rack etc. Also need a clothes drying rack to hang out washed clothes that can’t be tumbledried, for example most merino wool clothing. Dinner in the restaurant Hirafuzaka was overpriced for the amount of food you are served, and the food tasted just ok. The lamb chops were yummy though.

Central location of the main Niseko strip and they had shuttles to take you to the King Gondola (where the snow lessons are held) or the newly installed (as of 2025) Ace Gondola. The public onsen on site was great and it’s often quite. There's also private onsen options too open to the general public. Breakfast was a varied selection of Japanese and western food - I wasn’t bored the 5 times I ate breakfast there. Ski concierge included a small locker - couldn’t fit more than 2 but it’s safe enough to leave your board/skis out. Coffee machine/pods in the room that’s replenished daily. Daily cleaning and fresh towels.

Very limited kitchenette - don’t expect to cook anything (no pots/pans).

The Hotel location was perfect, short walk (or free shuttle) up to Grand Hirafu Welcome center made it easy and quick to get to the slopes every day. The place offers snow gear rentals for convenience, or head to Rhythm up the road. Our hotel room was really comfortable and we had plenty of room for 2 people plus all the suitcases and gear. Onsen facilities were fantastic, clean and relaxing. Staff were really helpful and even though there was a misunderstanding about taxi cancellation fees both Chris and Caroline handled the situation professionally and with empathy. Thanks for having us, would definitely stay again next time.

The bath shower. No pick-up/drop-off from Kutchan. Grand Hirafu can be a bit tricky to get in and out of with limited bus and train times that dont always line up with flights. A free shuttle pick-up or drop-off at Kutchan or Niseko Village would be great.

Comfortable beds, great showers, spacious suite, great breakfast, regular shuttle to the lifts, helpful staff.

Made reservation for dinner at the hotel restaurant and turned out we were “upgraded” to half-board without any explanation that this is a limited to a hot pot. This absolutely should be explained to guests. We had intended to order a la carte so this was disappointing. But it got worse. I’ve had great hot pot, this was not it. This was without a doubt the worst meal I’ve experienced (with 20+ years in the travel industry I’ve found myself in some disappointing restaurants). Even if we had been able to order a la carte, the restaurant space is cold and uninviting. The ambiance is non-existent. The dinner experience at this hotel is a serious mismatch with an otherwise great hotel.

The bed was by far the comfiest we had in Hokkaido. Onsen is a must post skiing. Location was perfect as could walk up in not time and be on the slopes. We had dinner there one night and it was outstanding.

The breakfast had pancakes on day 1, then never again for the entirety of our stay. The devastation was real. Also some maple syrup, yogurt and/or berries for the pancakes would have gone down a treat when we did get them on the first day. No view from the onsen, but it is still great after a day of skiing.

Great location, comfortable room and bed, helpful front desk. The shuttle to the gondola was great.

Restaurant - wasn’t impressed. Nothing is labeled so therefore they say “we don’t have gluten free anything.” In the morning, the space is very cramped, so I don’t think they even have room to label anything. Luckily, my room had a fridge so I shopped next door at Hirafu 188 for groceries. I ate dinner at the food trucks every night. If I go back to Niseko, I’d pay the penalty of a worse location for a better restaurant situation.

Location is great. Very close to the gondola. Ski rental in the hotel itself and shuttle service to the gondola (which is 7-8 mins walk anyway)

Not accomodating of any special request. We arrived at noon, requested early check in. Room was not available which is fine, so we went for lunch. Came back at 2:45 - 15 mins before the check in time and were made to wait another 30 mins before we got the room. Not a great welcome. Breakfast is also sub-par and very chaotic in the mornings during high season.

The location is superb, it is just 5 minutes walk from Hirafu Welcome Centre/Hirafu Base Gondola. It is also 5 minutes walk from the Hirafu Cross, which is the busiest part of Hirafu. You may find a lot of restaurants and convenience stores there. The hotel also offers shuttle bus to Hirafu Welcome Centre and Rhythm Ski Equipment store. You may borrow the your ski set from any of the ski equipment store and store it at the ski concierge. Every room has an assigned locker. The breakfast is wonderful and the staff is really helpful in helping you to solve any issues that you have. If you have questions prior to your trip, they will answer your questions on the app in a very detailed manner, ensuring you will have a smooth and wonderful experience here in Chalet Ivy and in Hokkaido.

My girlfriend and I loved the hotel, fantastic facilities and amazing staff. We had breakfast and dinner included in our stay, which was great because most of the restaurants in town are expensive. We especially appreciated the ski/snowboard staff and lockers and an onsen that didn't discriminate against tattoos. Fantastic location and a shuttle that runs to and from the Grand Hirafu resort about every 15 min from open to close.

We did not really enjoy the frequency of hot pot dinners.
