we arrived around 7.45, and were informed that we could eat there until 8.45. We showered and changed, and went downstairs, I only had a starter as it was late for me to eat, but it was substantial and delicious. My husband had a steak. It was delicious, the best he's eaten. All were young staff, friendly atmosphere. The young man who showed us to our room was very efficient and professional.
We needed to be away early. The breakfast chef starts at 8, so we only had time for a drink and cereal before we had to leave. Getting up early was perhaps a bit soon for hot water, although we didn't use the shower in the morning.

The location and the fact that they had toys for children in the room were a big advantage and a joy for them. It kept them occupied for a while. We waited about an hour for our breakfast to be served, but it was tasty.
The furniture seems to have been refurbished, but the windows remain old, with rotting frames, which poses a real danger, especially for those outside. If you try to open the window, there is a risk that the frame might come off in your hand and the glass could fall. One of the towels was dirty, and I tend to believe it was left that way from the previous guest, rather than the stains not coming out in the wash.

Fabulous value for money! It was a wry affordable get away for a family of four. The staff were friendly and helpful and made us feel very welcome. The breakfasts included in the price of the stay are excellent. We also ate our evening meal there one evening and had to look twice at the bill as the price felt like something hadn’t been added it was so good value! Also, the beds were very comfortable and the showers in the rooms are lovely and powerful.
We had booked (we thought) to stay in the hotel itself but we’re given the pods on the campsite at the rear of the property. This was a Suprise but actually turned out well, it’s a very peaceful location.

We arrived expecting a room in the hotel and was told that we would be staying in Pod1. It was a nice surprise. Good little pod with comfy beds, a wonderful shower and a TV. The little deck outside was a nice place to sit with the family and we could use the pub WiFi out there. Parked the car next to the pod. Friendly staff in the pub and good large grass area for the kids to run wild on. Overall a nice place to stay.
Toilet seat was broken. We just removed it in the end as the bolts kept falling onto the toilet everything we used it. To be fair, when we reported it to the staff they offered to try to repair it but it wasn't too much of a bother.

The manager and staff were friendly helpful are really great, they helped us on a couple of occasions with issues we had . The roast on Sunday was probably the best we had ever had out.
The room we had wasn't the best,a bit tired, and in need of redecoration, there was loud noise coming up from the kitchen causing the floor to vibrate until 10 at night, one night it was still going on until about 11 the staff i believe switched it off when we went down and asked., during the night the air con box outside our window literally booted up every 15 mins for 3 minutes then turned off.

The 'pod' we stayed in was really nice and unexpected as we expected to be staying above the pub, so this was a bonus as we had our own space out of the way. Our 4yo daughter loved the bunk bed which was very safe with the side protectors all the way around. The space was nice warm even though the weather was cold and stormy.
The fridge was dirty and overall the room could have been a bit cleaner.

The room we had was large, clean, and had some charming historic elements (i.e., fireplace mantle and exposed beams). Half of us were in a separate "pod" at the rear of the hotel; it, too, was clean, attractive, and comfortable. It is a great value, especially when you factor in the amazing breakfast - our best breakfast of a 4-week stay in the UK & Ireland.
We loved all of it, but wished for more history about the hotel.

Large room and comfortable bed; strong wifi; nice breakfast; great evening meal; super friendly staff
Just a few little things: I had single occupancy in a double room, so I was surprised that in addition to the double bed, the sofa bed had also been made up. I'd have preferred the sofa as it was but too much effort to unmake it. Room was clean but inside window frames needed a good scrub (ideally repainting) to remove the black mould. Tea making facilities in the room but no spoons; I'm a fan of not throwing toilet roll away after each guest but I think when there are just three sheets left, perhaps put a new roll on...

The atmosphere was great along with the surroundings. The staff were helpful and attentive and the food and drinks were good and affordable
Only one slight moan. The kettle in the room couldn't be filled from any tap in the room so had to use a cup and the design was strange as once it boiled it dispensed the water automatically so needed a cup in place which was not obvious

Nice and clean. We stopped in one of the glamping pods and it was so cozy! Underfloor heating so we wasn’t cold at all! Beds were super comfortable too! We enjoyed having a drink at the pub and our breakfast was superb!
We didn’t get the room originally booked for some reason however we were still impressed with the glamping pod
