I really can't recommend this place enough. Beautiful Victorian hotel, but doesn't have an outdated look at all. They upgraded us for free as it was our 5 year anniversary, which was so nice of them! The room was very comfortable and spacious, clean and beautifully furnished, with a sea view. I loved the ditsy chandelier! The staff were all amazing, super nice and helpful! We're two metalheads so we felt a bit out of place, but no one treated us any differently! The breakfast was truly a highlight. All fresh ingredients, and looked cooked on the spot. The full English had some of the best bacon I've ever tasted, and the kippers were such a nice touch. Also, poached eggs for everyone! We also tried the brasserie, and, let me tell you, that was one of the most value for money meals in my life. Make sure you're going there hungry! Finally, I'm absolutely amazed at the quality of the accommodation and service for the price we paid. It was one of the cheapest options when we were looking for a hotel, and, on top of all of it, the breakfast was included in the price. Convenient for all transport links, the town centre, and the beach. Honestly, the best holiday accommodation experience I've ever had.
My only problem was the duvet, which was quite heavy/wintery. This one's on me, though, as I could have asked for a lighter one and didn't. Just a heads up - the bar right next to the hotel plays loud music outside, so best to bring earplugs with you.

First time visitors to the Isle of Wight and the welcome received at the Royal Esplanade was outstanding. I use a wheelchair and there are seven steps up to the front door but it was not a problem as the staff immediately came out and lifted my chair in to the hotel for me, letting me leave the chair in the reception area to charge its batteries. The breakfast was great with a continental selection plus a full hot menu including Porridge and Kippers alongside the Full English. I wont name names for fear of missing somebody out as all the staff went above and beyond to make our stay so enjoyable. Being opposite the Hoverport I expected to be disturbed by noise but you wouldnt know it was there and it certainly provided an unusual view of the Hovercraft coming and going as you ate breakfast. It was a pleasure to stay in such a well maintained Victorian hotel which is obviously being well looked after by the owners and we hope to return again later in the year

Lovely room with view of the sea, very clean and plenty of tea and coffee. Warm for an old property it had a very comfortable bed. Staff are very friendly and informative. I liked the hotel it has old charm,it wouldn’t take too much investment for it to be fantastic but hotels are a hard game. Stay her you will be happy 😃
Couldn’t get the internet to work, and a couple of minor things like the shower fixings were very loose ,also not enough loo roll. Rooms are very clean but need an update regarding decor also not enough plugs by the beds(none actually). No cooked breakfast available due to work in the kitchen. No one really wants those cheap washing miniatures anymore I wouldn’t bother with them just a nice liquid hand soap needed, or have some nice ones (miniatures )available if customers ask.

Room 23 w seaview of Solent, ships, beach, hovercraft, Spinnaker Tower and Portsmouth in distance. Must be best room in hotel for views and comfort. Huge room. Clean, warm, light and airy. Impressive, plentiful hot drinks tray. Gorgeous bath/ shower. Small private car park £5/day on the next road.
Receptionist directions to car park could be clearer. Eg look for hotel signage, look for double gates. Instead instructed look opposite tyre firm. I’m a visitor so I don’t know tyre firm. Is it 100m? 1000m? Upon checking out I did hear a different receptionist give perfect directions to guest. Minor issue. Bathroom sink cold tap is hard to turn off so water can be wasted if you forget to check. Minor issue.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The location is marvellous as it is opposite the transport hub enabling easy travel across the island. The breakfast room was light and airy and the cooked breakfast was tasty and cooked to order. Our sea view room was perfectly adequate in terms of space and the en suite was a good size.
The windows really need a clean. Lovely sea view but marred by dirty glass. The en suite needs updating as the shower is inadequate. The cold buffet breakfast was very limited with no fresh rolls or pastries. I would prefer to access hot drinks myself rather than asking the staff for refills.

It was a nice hotel, great location, over the road from train/bus links, making it easy to get around the island if you wanted a day off from driving. Close to beach, shops, plenty of places to eat and things to do. Very clean, friendly staff were always happy to help. The hotel restaurant served excellent food and the bar & lounge were nice places to relax.
While it was nice having a room with a sea view, due to the building being listed the windows are old/thin, you could hear everything, which could be loud late at night when bars were closing, making it difficult to sleep sometimes. The bed could benefit from a new mattress as the current one creaked every time you turned over. Blackout curtains would also be great as the street lights were very bright and lit up the room all night. The trains and hover crafts start early, so again, be prepared for a noisy start to your day. We're sure not all rooms would be the same, our friends were on a higher floor sea view room and didn't experience the amount noise we did.

Stayed here before as I love it. Fab Victorina Hotel right on the front and centrally located in Ryde and pretty quiet too. You can watch the Hovercrafts travel to and from Portsmouth. Rooms really comfy. Bar lovely and staff really friendly and helpful. Plenty of eateries around the hotel if you don't fancy staying in and the breakfast is good. Only downside is the wifi is non existent on the upper floors but no issues and having a pint in the bar using the wifi seems preferable! As it's Victorina there are alot of stairs but there is the lift that handles most of the them. Top floor has additional stairs to rooms so ask first. No private parking but plenty of street parking so no issues.

Loved the location and the amenities of the hotel. Not too expensive and there was nothing staff wouldn't assist with
We enjoyed it but some may be put off by the sound of the hovercraft leaving or arriving

Biscuit- - digestive great ! Victoria cake delicious!
It sounds like your breakfast experiences were a bit underwhelming. Here’s a quick breakdown: • Day 1: The bacon was overly salty, and the sausage didn’t meet quality expectations—perhaps lacking in flavor or texture. • Day 2: Scrambled eggs with toast, but the eggs were on the dry side, which can make the meal less enjoyable. For improvement, they might consider using a less salty bacon, a higher quality sausage, and ensuring the eggs are cooked to a softer consistency. A bit of butter or jam could also help with dry toast!

Hotel close to the ferries & other transport links. My single room was very comfortable. Plenty of tea, coffee & milk. The hot chocolate sachet was appreciated. The staff I intereacted with were lovely.
My room was at the back of the hotel which wasn't a problem but there was a constant dull noise early in the morning which sounded like a tumble dryer & woke me up on both mornings. The couple of staff I mentioned it to couldn't think what the noise was. Having previously lived on the IW, I knew it wasn't the hovercraft which was suggested. I was out all day but couldn't hear the noise when I got back in the evening.
