We had a wonderful, warm welcome upon arrival and headed straight to the restaurant, where we enjoyed a delicious meal. My husband said it was the best steak he’s ever had! The staff were incredibly helpful, even assisting us with our luggage to the room. Our bedroom was cosy, clean, and very comfortable – we slept like babies. The area is so peaceful and tranquil at night, which made for a perfect night’s rest. In the morning, we were treated to a tasty breakfast before continuing our journey to Durdle Door. This is an ideal stop if you're travelling south to Dorset – highly recommended!

Let's start with the star-quality team!! Amanda was, in the morning, a real sunshine at breakfast! Her kindness matches Paolo's and the rest of the team - we are incredibly grateful to them for helping us out to get around to our friend's wedding!! Not only they have been kind, but the place is gorgeous, quiet and incredibly comfortable! It really is a lovely place to stay for a few days in the country side. And I do recommend their incredible breakfast, but also their lunch and dinner! Simply one of the best places I've stayed at!! Thanks again!
Maybe the lack of phone service, but it's not really an issue when you're staying in such a lovely and quiet place. It's good to just stop everything for a while.

We liked absolutely everything. The room was spacious, especially good as I have a dog. Very clean with a lovely, comfortable bed. We had the Signature room with a view. Very quiet and peaceful with a view over the green and the thatched cottages. The food was superb, beautifully cooked, both breakfast and evening meals with a good choice. Dog had a sausage at breakfast, which was a nice touch. We would most definitely stay again. I have to mention the very impressive staff. We were made so welcome, nothing was too much trouble. Particularly Amanda and Michelle, who were so naturally friendly, helpful and made us feel very comfortable. Very dog friendly. I would highly recommend.
Absolutely nothing to complain about

What a fantastic experience! The Museum Inn is a beautiful hotel located in a cozy and peaceful village that immediately puts you at ease. The atmosphere in the hotel is very pleasant, with a warm and welcoming vibe. The food was absolutely superb – from dinner to the exceptional breakfast, everything was spot on. The hospitality was top-notch; the staff were attentive, friendly, and made us feel right at home. A lovely surprise during our stay: we received a packed lunch from a kind elderly couple who were on a walking trip – they had more than enough and gave us one of theirs. The sandwich inside was nothing short of divine – a real foodgasm! The hotel itself is stylish, with beautiful, well-kept rooms that offer great comfort. The surrounding village is peaceful and picturesque – I fell in love with it. Without a doubt: on our next trip to England, we’ll be staying here again! I would highly recommend this place to anyone passing through the area.
Nothing bad to tell about it.

What a joyful place to stay. We had a lovely welcome and the staff were very accommodating. Amanda went above and beyond with her happy personality, and didn’t hesitate when we required a twin room rather than a double Amanda is an asset to the business, and the assistant manager (who I believe has ventured off to Lulworth) are a credit. We had a perfect wedding and weather at the Larmer Tree topped off with a perfect stay. We had family from Australia, Amsterdam and St Ives

We recently had the great pleasure of staying at the Museum Inn, and I can honestly say it was an experience that exceeded all our expectations. From the moment I arrived, Mel and Paolo made us feel like I was part of the family. Their warm welcome and genuine hospitality set the tone for a truly memorable weekend. The rooms were not only beautifully decorated but also incredibly comfortable and peaceful. And then there’s the food. Oh, the food! This is a hidden gem. The menu had an array of dishes that you’d expect from a high end restaurant not a village pub The breakfast, in particular, was a highlight, great ingredients and perfect hosting. What truly sets the Museum Inn apart, however, is the atmosphere. Mel and Paolo have cultivated a space that feels more like a welcoming country home than a traditional pub. Whether you’re enjoying a meal in the dining area, unwinding in the inviting guest lounge, or engaging in friendly conversation with the staff and locals, you’re constantly reminded that this is a place where your comfort and enjoyment are top priorities. In summary, the Museum Inn in Farnham offers everything you could want in a countryside escape—fantastic food, charming and comfortable rooms, and an atmosphere that makes you feel instantly at home. Our only regret is that we live five hours away and can't return as often as we'd like!

We recently stayed at the Museum Inn, and it was an exceptional experience! The food was absolutely delightful, with a wonderful variety of flavours in every meal. The rooms were cosy, clean, and provided a perfect retreat after a long day. What truly made our stay memorable was the attentive staff. They greeted us with warm smiles and went above and beyond to ensure we had a great experience. Overall, we wholeheartedly give Museum Inn a 5-star rating. We can't wait to return!

The staff were instantly friendly and helpful. We really liked Julia who served the evening meal and Amanda who served Breakfast. The food was amazing. The room was beautiful, such a comfy bed and a cute view of thatched cottages. Good shower. Great location. All perfect
The WiFi didn't work and the phone signal is very poor in that part of the world... but it was fine. It kept us off our phones!

Lovely pub in a beautiful village setting, very friendly staff, very attentive. Room was very nice and we had the best nights sleep, beds were so comfortable.Superb food, both breakfast and evening meals, and excellent service, would definitely recommend.
Whilst our room was very nice, and clean too, it could do with a bit of attention in the bathroom, needs updating but appreciate everywhere is trying to recoup after Covid so perfectly understandable.

This is the most beautiful country pub, and the rooms are so cosy and comfortable. We stayed in a family group of 8 / 4 rooms. We had 3 stable rooms, which were lovely and quiet with really comfy beds and much appreciated fresh coffee and cafetiere for the morning! Huge fluffy bath towels and gorgeous toiletries. We also had the Generals Room as a treat for my parents, and it was absolutely beautiful, it felt really special, especially with the balcony and village view, and the fact it was set aside in it's own quarters! The residents lounge was fabulous with a log fire and plenty of games to keep the children happy before dinner. Then we ate in the restaurant for dinner, which was all really tasty and enjoyed by everyone. The atmosphere was fantastic, busy and bustling in the bar, but not at all overbearing. Breakfast was amazing, lovely choices, plenty of juice, coffee, pastries etc. The staff were all brilliant, really welcoming, friendly and accommodating. We'll definitely be back!
The only feedback I have is that there were quite a lot of people smoking directly in the main doorway / porch outside the bar. It wasn't very nice to walk through, so I'd suggest encouraging the smokers around to the outside seating / car park.
