We had a great stay at I Bastioni San Domenico at the end of the season. The room was lovely, with a large-ish bathroom with a great shower, and although we didn't have a sea view we did have a very pretty terrace. The rooftop terrace was beautiful, and although the bar was closed for the season, the staff were very happy for us to continue to use it, and all the tables and chairs were still out. Breakfast was good quality. The staff gave us some great tips for day trips, and restaurants (AMU was fab). We asked to book the garage and as it's a few minutes walk from the hotel, they very kindly drove us there to collect the car, as you can't park on the "island" for very long. Would highly recommend!

BREAKFAST - Excellent array of continental fair, set on the rooftop was amazing (personal preference i like my eggs flipped and i probably could have asked but it wasn't that much of an issue) the staff were lovely smiling and attentive. LOCATION - Set in the old town of Gallipoli the location was perfect, centrally located on the sea front so access to the beach and the town was so easy, beautiful spot ROOM - Spotless is the best compliment i can give, the first thing i look for when reading reviews is cleanliness and no worries there, the room was also advertised as 'partial see view' this is misleading NOT because there wasn't one but that most other hotels would class our view as sea view, from our bed and form the window the view of the sea was right in front of us, there was a building in front of us so not full and panoramic but to the mid and left and the right we could sea the sea very happy with the view....N.B. the shampoo and shower gel were also lovely and the minibar very reasonable HOTEL - Stunning, Chic and Classy STAFF - Best hotel staff I've ever had, we had contact before my arrival and nothing was too much trouble, they arranged my transfer back to the airport for me so i knew i had everything in place and even arranged collection from the bus station when i arrived, I REQUESTED A BOTTLE OF CHAMPAGNE IN THE ROOM (at my cost) as the day we arrived was our wedding anniversary, when we entered the room bottle of champagne (beautiful) on ice and a fruit platter thank you so much... i have nothing bad to say about this hotel GRAZIE MILLE i would return in a heartbeat

We really enjoyed our stay here! The room was super nice, we had partial sea view and saw the ocean from bed - which I also must say was one of the most comfortable hotel beds I’ve slept in. Really nice details in the room and it felt really luxurious, as did the whole hotel including the lobby, hallways and rooftop. Also probably the best air conditioner on this trip (felt like a cold wall when you entered the room) and without a doubt the best breakfast buffet I’ve ever had traveling to Italy, we looked forward every morning to eat on the rooftop. Also everyone working there was really warm and welcoming!

The hotel has a great location - on the one-way ring road that goes around the island of the old city of Gallipoli. Our room had an amazing view of the sunset! There is also a roof-top terrace available with similarly amazing views. There are lots of restaurants in the area with many fresh seafood choices. We enjoyed rest breaks in our room with a light sea breeze coming through the open windows along with soft music coming from the restaurant across the street. Parking is located off the island - a 10+ minute walk away.

Wifi in the room was spotty.

We had a wonderful stay at i Bastioni San Domenico in Gallipoli. The breakfast was fantastic – fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented every morning. A special thank you to all the staff: they were so caring and attentive, making sure we felt comfortable and well taken care of. The service was excellent throughout our stay. However, there were a couple of minor issues we noticed. Our room didn’t have bathrobes, so we had to ask for them at reception. Also, in room 19, the bathroom door and the shower door squeaked a lot. Despite these small inconveniences, we really enjoyed our time here and would definitely recommend it to others!

Such a beautiful aesthetic and beautiful we loved our room! The breakfast was incredible! All of the staff were lovely and helpful with any questions/things we needed throughout our stay, we absolutely loved it! The rooftop was amazing - especially at sunset time! Everything was very clean and location was incredible!

There was some noise at night as we were on ground floor of cars/people walking past window (even some fireworks that jolted us out of bed), however - not much the hotel can do about this - more just down to the great location!

Nice toiletries and very clean rooms. Nice firm bed with a nice softer topper. Very very good water pressure and temperature for hand and rain shower. Location was great for food and visiting old town. Off peak season had the ZTL off and one could park right up front of the hotel. Very nicely decorated hotel. Gave us a room upgrade to one with balcony over seeing the pedestrians. nice receptionist that always greeted us and great ladies who served us at breakfast. Breakfast selection was wonderful, especially the bruschetta and fresh fruits (persimmon) was a plus. There is a mini mart around the corner.

Parking is scarce and would probably have to wait till 4pm after the lunch crowd to find a slot. Could provide free water during our stay, the only hotel that didn’t provide us water. Otherwise, could leave the water dispenser at the cafe available for self refill.

Everything. The location is 2 minutes away from the historical center. The rooms are spacious and have balconies, where you can enjoy your morning coffee. The staff is welcoming and ready to help with information about the city and the general area. The breakfast was good, they have both savory and sweet options. All in all, i would gladly come back and stay with them. They also offer private parking on site, at no extra cost.

Absolutely amazing location and the room and spaces were beautifully decorated. The roof terrace for breakfast was a dream and the staff both on reception and serving breakfast were utterly charming and helpful

We had originally booked a cheaper room with a city view. When we were shown it, it was on the ground floor, smelt mouldy and the view was of a wall. We therefore bit the bullet and paid for a room with a sea view which was amazing and worth every penny.

Nice location and elegant hotel in a historic building. Breakfast on the rooftop met our expectations.

Our room had only a small window, which made the room a bit claustrophobic. The thick walls of the old building were charming, but they did not let any wifi signal reach the room, and the bathroom would often smell quite mouldy
