I loved everything about my 1-week stay at the River Crossing Lodge! My chalet room was large and the bed was quite comfortable. The bathroom and shower overlooked one of the canyons of the game reserve, and the water pressure and temperature were excellent. The food selections offered for breakfast, lunch, and dinner were excellent, especially the dinners. The dinner meals were perfectly prepared and always delicious! The staff at the lodge were uniformly friendly and 100% professional. They are world class in terms of hospitality service. I suffered a back problem during my stay, on New Year's Day of all days, and they recommended a pharmacy in Windhoek that I could visit to pick up some pain patches and pain relievers. The location is perfect, as it is located about 37 km from Hosea Katako International Airport and you can arrange a shuttle from or to the airport for not too much cost (I hired my own car). It is also located close to downtown Windhoek, making it easy to drive into the city to pick up snacks and supplies if needed. But one of the best things I enjoyed about staying at this lodge is the proximity to the Avis Dam Nature Reserve. I went hiking there nearly everyday, where you have the opportunity to see lots of native birds (lesser flamingos, hamerkop) and other wildlife (baboons, rock hyraxes, various antelope). The River Crossing Lodge is its own game reserve, with game drives and guided walks, but the convenience of the Avis Dam Nature Reserve made it a great destination. I would definitely stay at the River Crossing Lodge again and highly recommend it.

the Staff and the views were the highlight of the trip(especially the duty manage) , they went out of their way to make our stay memorable. the food was really good, the breakfast and dinner . and since it was winter , they had a free flowing Coffee
The hotel didnt have a safe in the room which is a minimum requirement for a "4 Star " , it also lacks the basic security measures such as CCTV cameras , alarms ,fences , we had an incident in one of our nights hence why i am pointing fingers at the security features of the lodge(the Owner should do more ), rather than that , the positives surpassed the negatives

The hotel is located on the outskirts of Windhoek and has amazing views. The staff were very friendly and the food was of a very high standard. The hotel was good value for money and had two lovely pools. It is great for younger or more mobile guests and the staff did assist us by changing one room, which was just too far away from the main building, which was a great help. The laundry service was the best value for money of all the hotels we stayed in.
We were travelling with guests who had limited mobility and had phoned to ask about stairs, which we were assured were minimal. However there are 6/7 steps into the main building with no handrail (there is ample room to put in a ramp, which would be very beneficial). The rooms each have a few steps to get into them and are located some distance from the main building and the access is quite challenging in places with uneven paths and limited lighting at night.

Beautiful views Comfortable rooms Dinner was delicious Staff were friendly and helpful the first day ( Anna and Patrina)
I had a shuttle booked and confirmed and when I was at airport, the driver forgot to collect me. I had to make other arrangements. The staff on my second nights stay was not attentive to guests. I had to everytime get up and search for someone just to tell them I would like to order etc. But overall a fantastic experience.

The lodge and especially the pool and restaurant is really nice as you have a perfect view over Windhoek. The staff is friendly and helpful and the quality of food was very good. You also have a marvelous view at the stars on your terrace.
We had a bathtub in our bathroom which was difficult to enter at it was very high and it difficult to shower. Other rooms (e.g. the one of my parents) also have walk in showers which are better. As the lodge was fully booked we had the room which had the most distance to the restaurant and pool. With a five year old child it therefore took quite a while to get from/to the room.

Dinner and breakfast were delicious and well prepared by the staff. Staff were very welcoming and present and always ready to help (found us a hair dryer, gave advice on surrounding area, always friendly). Room was in a separate cabin which was nice and quiet. Views were amazing. Location great for early day in Windhoek.
Hair dryer in room not available but was available at front desk. Otherwise everything great.

Nice lodge near Windhoek in a quiet location, with great views. The rooms are nice, spacious and quiet. The pool is nice, but a bit difficult to use as it is in the middle of the restaurant (not a lot of privacy) and the water is very cold. Wifi works in the rooms, which is great. The restaurant is ok, but not very special, with a fixed menu. Unfortunately there is no choice in the area and one needs to drive to Windhoek, which is a bit of a drive to just have some food.
The offer at the restaurant should be improved... or they could provide a shuttle bus to and from some restaurant downtown

We chose this lodge as our starting and ending stops for our trip to be near the airport. We were pleasantly surprised and felt it had so much more to offer than a pure "sleepover" stay. The views from the chalets are amazing and you can not tell that this place is literally 5 minutes outside of Windhoek. The breakfast and dinners were excellent and they also have a nice pool / bar for a great sundowner / evening experience. The rooms were excellent as well, spacious , large beds and fitted with AC with a great view. It was also very well priced and staff was very welcoming, it definitely gave our trip a great start after a long european flight and was perfect to finish off the trip.
No complaints.

Lodge-type rooms set apart from the main building as is common in Namibia. Room was well equipped with fridge, hairdryer, bath as well as large comfy bed and very nice bed linen. Lots of hot water as needed and toiletries supplied. Short walk on good paths to main building and paths are lit at night. Restaurant food good with good choice and nicely cooked. DBB rate was good value. Breakfast also good and outside bar nice for a drink at sunset with lovely panoramic view of surrounding hills.
I had asked for an easy access room due to slight mobility issues and had had confirmation that this was ok. When I arrived, no note of this and they tried to show me to a room that was far too far away. Eventually sirted out by very nice receptionist but still an unwelcome faff around.

The rooms are basic but comfortable. What stood out was the beautiful surroundings and how friendly and helpful the staff were. The food was also absolutely devine. We were traveling with our busy body 3 year old, and the staff were so tolerable with him, entertaining him and keeping him busy while we were having dinner.
The hot water ran out very quickly. We had a cold shower in the morning, which is not ideal in Khomas in the winter
