The staff were absolutely amazing, meeting us outside the Medina to take our luggage and get to the Riad. The desk staff welcomed us and offered us tea while we signed in. They also helped us choose and book a beautiful dinner experience for the night and arranged for a very professional guide Idris who took his entire day to show us the Medina. The decor was beautiful and the scent of jasmine was everywhere in the air. I would definitely recommend this very large and well run Riad.

The riad is beautiful, with elegant traditional Moroccan decor that adds to its charm. The common areas - the corridors, restaurant, and terrace - are beautifully designed and stylish. The location is perfect: close to the medina but on a quiet, peaceful street. The staff are warm, welcoming, and genuinely kind. The rooms are clean, and spacious, and the food is delicious. We booked the half-board option, which was great value for money.
Our only suggestion is that the rooms in the adjacent building could use a bit more maintenance, as they don’t feel as well-kept as the main areas. However, considering the overall experience and value, it’s a small issue.

Our stay at Riad al Makan was nothing short of spectacular—we walked in as guests and left feeling like minor royalty who’d misplaced their crowns but still got the VIP treatment. The location? Spot on. You couldn’t trip over your shoelaces without stumbling upon something worth seeing. The traditional hammam experience was a revelation. A lovely lady expertly guided us through it with such warmth and confidence that even my inner skeptic (who packs stress for every trip) melted into submission. I left feeling like a steamed dumpling in the best possible way. Then there was Zakariya—an absolute firecracker. Bubbly, outgoing, and with an energy level that could power a small town, he brought the kind of fun that turns a great stay into a memorable one. You couldn’t help but smile when he was around. And let’s not forget the chef’s legendary six-plate salad extravaganza. It was a culinary masterpiece—a parade of flavors so good I briefly considered proposing to one of the dishes. In short, Riad al Makan is a delightful blend of relaxation, laughter, and great food. Highly recommend making it your royal headquarters.

The staff were so friendly and helpful, especially Anas on reception, and the building is beautiful. We did the Hamman, it was great, highly recommend it.

Beautiful riad with a panoramic view on the terrace, delicious breakfast and friendly, knowledgeable staff (multilingual). The riad is located on a quiet street a short walk from the souks/Fes El Bali, but close to the main drop off roundabout for taxis.
It wasn't clear from booking.com that we were reserving a room in the annex, a separate building across the street. The walls were very thin and we could hear all noises outside the room (footsteps, voices, people in other rooms using bathroom & shower, street noises), and could also smell cigarette smoke coming from outside the room. Can't speak for the main building but I would imagine it's similar.

Staying at this hotel in Marrakech was an absolutely perfect experience! The location is fantastic—just a short walk to the night market and city center, making everything super convenient. The service here is even better than that of a five-star hotel, and the host is incredibly kind and welcoming. On our first day, we were treated to authentic local cuisine prepared by the host, which was such a wonderful introduction to Moroccan culture. The hotel also offers affordable airport pick-up and drop-off services. The daily complimentary breakfast was delicious and had plenty of variety. We wanted to go on a road trip, and the host went above and beyond to help us find the perfect car, which made our journey so much easier. Thanks to the host, everything about our stay was seamless and enjoyable. If I visit Marrakech again, I’ll definitely stay here! Highly recommend this place to everyone!

It's a very beautiful place, the room was very good and it has an amazing terrace to chill. We loved the hammam as well, it was a wonderful experience. I highly recommend doing it!
They offered breakfast to take away because we had to leave before breakfast time and the things they gave us were old, and not much and without any water or similar. Another thing, one of the receptionist told us we couldn't get a taxi before 7:30am so he tried to make us book a taxi with him saying it would cost 100MAD when actually in the roundabout there were plenty of taxis to go to the bus station and only for 20MAD.

Riad Al Makan is really nice; clean, quiet, comfortable and with welcoming and helpful staff. We arrived by taxi from the bus station and the taxi driver knew the hotel and dropped us as close to it as he could. Our room was in the annexe across the road and the annexe is very comfortable. The hotel dining area is very nice indeed with beautiful traditional styling. The location of the hotel is very good and the interesting parts of the medina are a short walk away. Even though we visited during Ramadan a few nearby restaurants were open for lunch and we had no trouble finding anywhere for dinner. One evening we ate at the hotel and it was very nice.

Mr. Anas in the reception welcomed us and it was great. He helped me to show my rooms as I have two separate bookings and he upgraded my room. It was really overwhelming, he also offered complementary hammam for us which I did not noticed. However the room in annex building was so comfortable and specious for us. By the way we were the first Bangladeshi guest in this Riad😊. He also helped us for the local tour too. In the morning they served the breakfast and items were delicious. We loved it. The sky lounge and the open terrace added more value to my stay. No one should miss it. In one word I enjoyed the stay.
In the main building, there is no lift. So moving to terrace or upper floor room in difficult.

What a stunning riad. Perfectly located close to the sights, but peaceful and tranquil We stayed in the annexe which is just across the street from the main riad. Both are immaculately decorated but the main riad is just spectacular! The tiling, carvings, water features, sumptuous fabrics and traditional decorative flourishes make this one of the most beautiful places we have ever stayed in Staff were fantastic and couldn't do enough for you, but without ever feeling intrusive or overbearing. The rooftop terrace is a welcome haven from the bustling streets below. Breakfast was filling and served from 8am but they obliged us with a slightly earlier one on our departure day. An absolute gem, if you want a stylish and traditional riad in Fez then book this one!!
Lighting in the bed room was a little dim, although we seem to find this all over morroco Also it would be nice to have refillable shampoo and shower gel rather than individual sachets, just to help avoid too much single use plastic.
