We stayed for 11 nights in the Bang on Beach room, which had a perfect view of the sunrise and the sea. We enjoyed our stay very much—it was peaceful, calm, and the perfect place to relax and reset, with no kids around. Pros & Highlights: • Location – The hotel is right on the beach, perfect for long walks on the sandy shore. There’s nothing within walking distance, but we were aware of that beforehand and rented a car at the airport to explore the whole island. If you don’t rent a car but want to go somewhere, 24-hour taxi drivers are available right in front of the hotel. • Tip: Visit the market in Flacq—fresh fruit, vegetables, and a pure local atmosphere. • On the beach, you'll meet a guy from Apollon Cruise offering a 5-island tour—highly recommended! The boat was less crowded than others, making for a more enjoyable experience. • Check-in/Check-out – Very smooth, with friendly and helpful staff. • Food – Tasty, with different options to choose from. They handled allergies and dietary restrictions very well—my partner is vegan, and I can’t eat dairy. They even prepared special meals for us for both breakfast and dinner. • Staff & Service – Always friendly and helpful, especially Sanjay :) who always arranged something special for us at dinner, including desserts. Hotel Highlights: • Free daily snorkeling trips at 11 AM (1 hour, boat ride to a perfect spot). • Free paddleboard and pedal boat rental. • Free drinking water available all day (no need to buy at the supermarket). • Stylish design with a perfect ocean view during breakfast and dinner. • Library with local and other books, available in the room or in a cozy reading area. Minor Drawbacks: • Still water was not free at dinner, even when ordering other drinks. • Live music only twice during our stay—I would have appreciated it more often, but when it was there, it was really nice. Overall, a fantastic stay, and we would definitely return!

- When they call the room the "Bang on Beach" room, they're not kidding. The room is in a fantastic position with amazing views and sounds of the private beach. - During our time there we witnessed a wedding on the beach and influencers in the wild. Being an adult-only resort, it was a peaceful and relaxed crowd. - The inside of the room itself is well-designed and spacious enough for our needs. - I liked that there was no TV. I didn't use the fancy radio and can't think of why anyone would. - The hotel is designed to be sustainable while still being luxurious. So you'll find that instead of a buffet, you choose 2 options for breakfast for example. This I can assume drastically reduces their wastage but also allows them the time to have chef-prepared meals for their guests. - All the restaurant staff were excellent and I'd like to particularly commend Sanjay, Dharam and Bool for their excellent friendly service.

The cons are really just constructive criticism that I think would be easy for SALT to remedy: - The pillows are your standard terrible hotel pillows that offer zero support. I don't know why most hotels have them. - The resort doesn't do a great job telling you about all their facilities and activities. I had no idea that the kayaking, and other water activities were on offer directly from the resort, let alone that they were free. - For some reason this hotel doesn't have a reception desk. Instead they have staff waiting near the entrance and assisting guests via tablets. It sounds like a great idea in theory but I think they lose something by not having a physical reception desk.

This hotel is sooo beautiful in the most perfect location for east coast. Such good value for money for how beautiful the setting is. I loved the ocean view room and the big white bed that faced the sea - lovely touches around the hotel like free sparkling water tap, sun cream and the staff were so attentive and nothing was a problem!

The serving staff could be a bit more hospitable. They are polite but not genuine.

The location was ideal to access the beach area near camps bay. Safe and beautiful.

Not really a dislike but the bed was a bit stiff in our rooms. If they used a mattress topper it would help.

Everything! We loved Salt and would highly recommend! The hotel itself is fresh and attractive with bright colours, modern design and plenty of light and space. The hotel beach was beautiful and sun beds were always available. Rooms were very clean, comfortable and cool. The staff were friendly and helpful. We were all inclusive and the food and drinks were all fantastic with loads of choice on the menu, including plenty of Mauritian specialities (much more preferable to a buffet style). The Spa was amazing, the best massage I’ve ever had! Overall a fabulous experience and cannot recommend this hotel enough!

My room - Bang on the Beach - literally looked out on the to the beautiful beach and ocean. The name lived up to its promise. The beach was clean and lovely, and the staff raked it every morning and cleared any seaweed that may have washed up. The pool was beautiful and staff were very friendly and accommodating. The rooms were pretty soundproof, and even though I was close to the entertainment, I could not hear it once I was in my room.

It's not really a complaint, just the nature of how the dining worked... meals were a-la-carte which meant that there was a bit of a wait (not long) to get your meals. This was only slightly problematic in the morning when we had to wait for our first cup of coffee :) If you're used to the buffet style dining that a lot of other hotel's and resorts have this might be a bit of an adjustment.

Beautiful and very special hotel - SALT of Palmar is one of our favourite hotels! Situated right on Palmar beach, SALT follows a unique approach, with a focus on local produce and goods, responsibility and sustainability for its beautiful surroundings and people. SALT offers a range of activities (partially free), such as snorkeling, yoga, sports courses etc, of which we made great use. For guests like us, seeking both relaxation, sport, wonderful food and a beautiful location with direct access to the sea, this hotel is perfect. We particularly enjoyed the breakfast (à la carte), including the delicious pastries the pastry chef Rajeev and his team conjure up fresh every morning. The pastry team as well as the entire SALT team are very welcoming, kind and always helpful. We are definitely coming back!

If you are not on a half board or full board meal plan, the prices in the restaurant (TekTek or The Good Kitchen) are quite high (also for drinks). That being said, the food is very good.

The hotel is incredible, absolutely friendship staff as in the restaurant (f.e. Med) and in room service. The food was perfect, The salt of palmar created incredible dinner for honeymoon. The food was one of the best around the world! The room was clean and perfectly designed.

1. We chose all inclusive and was shocked a bit that half of the menu non-available for AI rate, we had to pay top up for the other position, as from my point of view our rate mean all the menu included, so we made an order and when we had acheck out, we got a bill for juice, that was surprise for our rate) 2. The beach - the hotel have fashion design and everything around is very well styled but beach consists of stones, sea urchins and had to go somewhere to swim.

Breathtaking place, was much better in real life than expected. Beautiful grounds , pool , gym. Everything was exceptionally clean. Lovely kind staff. I would highly recommend to other guests to experience the special dining experience by chef Shiva! It was exceptional. Breakfast was my favourite meal, with lots of options and very well cooked. Dinner was a little hit and miss with the seasoning of some dishes but I really enjoyed the chicken biryiani! The hotel has a lot to offer in terms of different activities , excursions etc. many are included/free. The beach is stunning, however it does get windy in the east, which is perfect in the day for me as cools things down. One thing I really liked is that water is refillable at all times which is a great addition and much needed One of the best hotels I’ve stayed in ! I will be back

The only thing I would say is that although I loved my room , Bang on the beach , just for others to be aware that you do hear the winds throughout the night and the tides. This did keep me up at night. Next time I would opt for a room on the other side closer to the pool. It’s not a negative of the hotel, just my personal preference.
