From the moment I arrived, I was genuinely impressed by the warm welcome and attentive service. The staff were incredibly kind, helpful, and always willing to go the extra mile to ensure my stay was comfortable and enjoyable. Their hospitality made me feel more like a guest in a home than just another traveler at a hotel. The care and attention to detail were evident throughout my stay—from the cleanliness of the room to the thoughtful touches that made everything feel cozy and personal. I especially appreciated how responsive and friendly the team was at all times. The location is perfect—conveniently situated close to major attractions, public transportation, and great local restaurants, yet still peaceful and quiet enough for a restful night’s sleep. Considering the quality of service, the comfort of the accommodations, and the prime location, the price was more than reasonable. It’s rare to find such a great balance between affordability and high-quality service. I would absolutely stay here again and recommend it to anyone looking for a truly memorable and pleasant experience. This place sets a new standard for hospitality!

This is a budget hotel, but we used it as a base for exploring. Location is what wins here, 5 min walk to Ginza line stations, shopping, temples, kitchen street, great food. The owners are friendly and helpful. The room is small with Futons and Tatami mats, bathroom has traditional deep bath.. perfect for soaking after a busy day. It's old, but reminds me of your grandma's house.. no 'mod-cons', but comfortable. Only minutes from Asakusa's busy shopping street but very quiet part of the neighbourhood. We would definitely go back.
This is an older establishment, and looks a bit worn.. but the price is great. Shampoo and body wash are supplied, but no dinky little shower caps and brushes that you get at other places ( which end up in waste anyway). Just buy any extras like facecloths, handwash. There are no chairs in rooms just floor mats and very low table, but we only had combini coffee and cake each morning, didn't need a place to sit around, but it is a little awkward. There is a washing machine, but it's up a lot of stairs.

I come to Tokyo often so have stayed in many types of accommodation in many different areas. I would more than highly recommend Asakusa Ryokan Toukaisou. The manager (owner?) and staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. The room was a single traditional tatami room with a private bathroom & toilet. It was very clean, had everything I needed (including AC) and the futon was very comfortable. The location is excellent as it's in a quieter area of Asakusa but still close enough to get to the main tourist area, restaurants, supermarkets and subways. I will definitely be staying at Ryokan Toukaisou again!

Location. Staff so friendly, kind & helpful. Room was very clean with a traditional Japanese bathtub and good supplies of hot water! Loo seat was fancy, and heated for extra luxury. Loved the Japanese mattress beds too. Thank you
We ordered a pocketwifi to this hotel to be delivered on our arrival date. It had been returned to sender when I enquired because it hadn’t shown up at the hotel as promised. The pocket wifi company said the hotel had not accepted it because my name was not included on the address. I had briefed the hotel beforehand who had said they would accept my package. No refund being issued! Not sure what happened but probably best to avoid making my mistake. Other than that property was faultless.

The owners were all so sweet and nice! Upon entering the hotel, you'd be greeted very warmly and they'd help you with anything. The room was a great experience as you'd really get a japanese feel through the decorations, tatami mat, and even small details like the deep small tub you can relax in from a cold day. The beds were also great and we felt relaxed sleeping on them. About the location, it's just a bit of a walk from the (Tawaramachi or Asakusa) train stations, but along the way you would get to see so many places to visit and places to eat, not to mention all the convenience store that we love are accessible along the way. There are many groceries, Donki, Uniqlo/GU, and everything else nearby.
I just wish there's a warm light lamp provided for some more mellow lighting at evening for reading and preparing to sleep, as it was just the ceiling lamp in the main room. Other than that, we had no problems whatsoever. :)

This was by far one of the most comfortable stays during my time in Tokyo. The bed I slept on was one of the BEST nights of rest. The tub in the bathroom was great for a soak after sightseeing. The aircon/heater was perfect. However, I didn't use the fridge or other items. It was available. The staff was great and was able to answer any questions and provide recommendations. The staff speak basic English. I wish I stayed longer but if this property is available again, I will try to stay here for a longer stay.
The room was a little small but I was happy. The bathroom was a little cold. But nothing negative.

I recently stayed at a hotel in Asakusa and had a fantastic experience. The location was perfect—right in the heart of the area, close to Sensoji Temple, great local food, and easy access to public transport. The staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful throughout my stay. The room and overall hotel were very clean and well-maintained. Everything was comfortable and exceeded my expectations. Highly recommended if you’re staying in Tokyo and want to enjoy the charm of Asakusa!

The staff were absolutely lovely!! We loved the location! It’s off an alley rather than a Main Street, so even on a Friday night, it was quiet! Short walk to a train the takes you right to Shibuya. It was easy to get to Tokyo Station. Coming from the airport wasn’t bad at all! So close to Senso-ji Temple and there’s another shrine even closer that is very cute. The room itself is modest, but so is the price and I felt like we got a fantastic value. The beds were comfortable, nice Japanese toilet, spacious shower and bath area (I’m used to a stand up stall shower). I love they have a foldable table in the room if you want to have a snack or use your electronic devices.
We enjoyed the property. Only concern would have been if our flight was delayed, you can’t check in past 22:00. Good news is the unit is very affordable, so for us it would have been fine to eat it. Our flight arrived at 15:00 and thankfully no delays, so it was absolutely perfect 👌

I stayed at Asakusa Ryokan Toukaisou for 4 nights. The accommodation was very easy to find from Tawaramachi station and is very close to Sensoji temple and Nakamise shopping street. The accommodation itself had everything necessary with a comfortable bed, complementary tea and a good hot shower. Finally, the staff was very friendly and helpful - they even received a parcel from amazon on my behalf during my stay. I would definitely recommend Asakusa Ryokan Toukaisou if you want to have easy access to the Asakusa area in Tokyo.

The owner of this Ryokan was so approachable and super friendly, he was just great, I really liked him. Anyway apart that the location of the property was spot on, close to SensĹŤ-ji and also close to 2 subway lines for super convience to get me anywhere within the city.
I don't really want to complain about the place because the owner as I have said was so nice, but if I have to mark something down, then I would say that the walls were far to thin, and you can here everything, if you know what I mean, which made for quite an uncomfortable night.
