The welcome was pleasant, with a tour of the place. The dorm room wasn’t very large but had a small shelf, and each bed had a locker with a lock, making it easy to store belongings without disturbing others. There are several showers and toilets available, so there’s always space. If they’re all occupied, there are public baths nearby. The hotel is a bit far from the main attractions, but this allows you to explore a less touristy part of Kyoto, and walking is good for your health. The kitchen is well-equipped, making it easy and tempting to cook, especially since supermarkets are close by. Convenient! There’s a delicious bakery just a 10-minute walk away. The living room is convenient to make nice encounter !
Like many hotels in Tokyo, the prices are quite high, but there’s not much that can be done about it.

Little hostel in an old Japanese house all made of wood and some rooms with tatami floors. Was very affordable for us and as a couple we shared a double bed room. Very small but with big window and enough to sleep comfortably. The place is small but very cute. It’s an old house and even though everyone was very respectful about noise, you can still hear noise of people moving around. For us was not a problem and we really enjoyed staying there. The place is super clean and as in a traditional Japanese house, shoes stay at the door 🫶 Staff was super friendly and helpful. Kitchen with coffee and tea and laundry machine for communal use. Area not exactly central but easy reach to downtown (Nishiki market) with bus 46 (2mon away from hostel).

I liked how welcoming the staff was. Emi was a great host and helped out with everything plus a little extra like travel advice and so forth. The staff made hard efforts to keep it clean and neat at all times. I stayed there for 5 nights and i was very satisifed with how it went. There were 2 showers, 2 toilets and a machine outside for washing clothes. (The laundromat was a 2 min walk from there) The kitchen had all the tools needed and the living room was a great place to meet other travellers. I mostly met people either on early morning or late evening. As for the location, it was located very close tp Nijo castle. This is a place worth checking out if you're into history and culture. It was a 1-2 hour walk from arashiyama (also highly recommended to visit). Maybe 2 hour walk from kyoto station. Somewhat 1 hour walk to the nishiki market if you cut through the imperial palace. (A lot of good restaurants and interesting shops. This is the area you wanna go if you want to find bars and clubs.) Allthough its worth mentioning that kyoto is mainly known for bars, Osaka has better stages for clubs. The point is most temples was at least 1 hour walk from there. Its important to keep in mind that Kyoto is a huge city with scattered temples all around, so no matter where you live, you will be far from everything. Having that said, there was a bicycle rental a 10 minute walk from the hostel. You could rent a bike there and store it outside the hostel if you would like. There are also train stations and buses from place to place. (Buses can be confusing if you dont know the language) also taxi's are very hard to find in Kyoto unless you are already at a very crowded tourist place. I was walking for hours without seeing one, so a bike is recommended for the easiest and cheapest way to get around. I recommend this stay if you would like to travel all around kyoto.
Nothing major to point out. Only that it was somewhat warm in the bed area (could maybe have been better ventilated) and a little cold in the other rooms (maybe some more heaters). But that was mostly because i was there in late autumn. Its a luxury problem after all.

It was a hostel, and was what you would expect for a hostel with shared bathroom. The place was clean, the bathrooms were sufficient for the people staying there, and fellow guests were considerate
Walls were very thin, so all conversations in a closed room are not private.

It has a nice vibe, everything was clean. Main plus was a fullty equipped kitchen. Room was small but nothing too uncomfortable.
Old, could use some renovations. Also, when you are bigger - I am 190cm - the space is really a bit claustrophobic. I had to bend my head all the time when crossing doors etc.

Overall everything was great, the pods where nice, clean and sound proof. You also have a great onsen inhouse, with a great sauna, a hot wirlpool and a coldbath. You also get full set of bathing utensil (gel/razor/towles) as well as fresh hotel cloths each day.

The property is beautiful, right across a small temple. There’s plenty if food a bars around the area. The space felt clean and the staff is friendly and accommodating. The shared space is comfy and a good spot to meet other travelers. I extended my stay two nights as a result
Wifi is weak.

Very friendly and helpful host, great location for the public bus system. Lots of restaurants and convenience stores within walking distance. Great commonareas Quiet area. Everything is very clean. We stayed in a private room
A bit of a hassle to dry clothes after washing as there were no drying racks, only a very short line.

Very sure spot with friendly staff and a nice vibe. Not super social, but it’s a great place to rest and quiet at night. The location is a bit far out but the Japan transit system makes up for it (just have to take a couple buses here and there) overall had a great stay here!!

The staff is really nice and welcoming, common spaces are really cozy.
The bathroom was really cold and the room was very small, but I know that is a normal thing in Japan so it was okay :)
