This was my first trip solo travelling, and I'd very happily return to Toki! The attention to detail for the amenities made my stay feel very hygienic and comfortable, and I felt very safe (I'm a female traveller). It was a very easy walk to Hakata train station, which made getting around the whole city easy (and they even provided a map with an easier route than what google maps suggests). The best thing I found about Toki was definitely the staff. They were very attentive, accommodating, and friendly. They provided me with lots of recommendations for good food locations and places to see, and even went out of their way to find information about a sports facility I asked about. I would highly recommend this hostel to everyone.
There is no lockable storage for belongings. This has been a common case in hostels I've stayed in around Japan though, so I don't feel it detracted from the space.

I stayed in both the private room and the women's only dorm, so this review covers both. Staff is exceptional! Very nice, communicative, and went above and beyond with my circumstances (early luggage drop off, keeping luggage after check in, among other things). Private room was spacious, though a bit "run down" - it's an older home. Bathrooms are always clean and available, even though there are only two showers. Free water, tea, and coffee. Informational brochures in the lobby!
The women's only dorm is very narrow; there's barely room to walk and no room to pack. The stairs to the top bunk are also smaller than usual, so be extra careful when climbing up. It's about a 20min walk from Hakata Station or a 15min cab ride, so this may not be great if you have a lot of luggage. I walked to Hakata every day so it wasn't a big deal.

Everything was amazing! The staff was incredibly kind and welcoming, they help you out when exploring food options and just generally navigating the area :) everyone was very kind to me there. The beds are quite big and the mattress is comfortable, the blanket is super soft! You also get a second blanket in case it gets too cold. The showers were always clean, as well as the toilets and the common area/ sinks. Slippers are provided as you canât enter with your outside shoes. They can also keep your luggage before check-in, which was very convenient for me. I will miss the kind people working there, as well as the general vibe- it was a very homey hostel
Nothing! Some guests were loud but thatâs not the hostels fault

As told in previous reviews, the staff is really kind and attentive. Common areas are always clean and there's everything you need in terms of amenities, except for towels (that you can rent). Compared to some other guests, I didn't have problems with luggage storage, even with one large suitcase, one medium and one backpack.
It's a dorm room and other guests can have no common sense or care for others (for instance, unpacking luggage at 1am or taking 20 minutes in the morning in the one and only men's shower room). This is not the hostel's fault but maybe informing again of basic rules at check-in and a schedule board for showers with 10 min slots would help, as I saw in other hostels in Japan. Earplugs and a sleeping mask are a must anyway. It's also quite far from the main areas (Tenjin, Hakata) on foot, which can be a pain when walking back.

I've stayed here before and I must reiterate that I very much appreciate how clean it is. (Japan has some of the cleanest hostels I've every stayed at!) You can walk to the hostel from Hakata Station, but it's a little far (like 20 minutes). However, it's very close to a convenient bus stop with frequent buses to and from Hakata Station.
The sleeping area with all the bunk beds is not very big, and it feels a little dangerous (at least for me because I'm clumsy) to go up and down the ladder of the top bunk, but the actual bed space is fine and there is a curtain for some privacy.

The location was near Hakata Station which is always nice. The staff were super friendly and always happy to lend a hand and socialise. The bed was amazing and there was a safe and ample space for large luggage. It's next to a couple of supermarkets and a double-storey FamilyMart (convenience store) which was a pleasant surprise. They also offered a bike rental service for only 500 yen which is a bargain
The hostel itself was only 1 floor and felt crammed. 20-minute walk to the nearest public transport available (Hakata Station). The location was near Hakata Station albeit, away from the trendy areas

Very kind workers, the younger staff spoke Korean very well, and i asked recommendations for restaurants. She made me a list of good restaurants near by in Korean just for me! Also the older staff(possibly the owner) was very kind and understanding, also helped me to rent a bicycle! Also the facility is very clean, crisp. For the price, this would be your best choice. (I used double bed room by myself. I don't know about shared room)
Actually i can't really complain about anything. I would book here again whenever i come fukuoka again!

The place is literally almost spotless. Even the shelf on the wall and the corner of the bed are wiped thoroughly. I have seen the staff cleaning not just the bed sheets, but also beating the futon and the beddings after the guests had checked out the other morning. This is honestly the cleanest and tidiest stay I have ever had. I slept so well at night because of the tiny trace of laundry scent coming from the beddings. It smelt like it has been kissed by the sun. The hostel is also very homey and cosy. They are playing soft and relaxing jazz by the common area. It is well decorated with some dried plants. It just looks relaxing. å çºåºåŸä¹Ÿæ·šå被åæ£çŒçæ·¡æ·¡çæŽæ»åå³éïŒæ以åŸå®å¿ïŒç¡åŸåŸå¥œã
Sound proofing is not the best, but most of the guests are considerate. So, it is not bothering.

Clean, organized.
Only a single shower and toilet for the men. For some of the days, took me more than an hour of wait to have the shower to free up in the morning to get ready. Not sure why all the showers and toilets aren't common use for both genders as they're private individual stalls; women are allowed to use any, men only the designated single one. Also the location is a bit removed--15min walk to the main station.

Really nice and solid stay overall. Would definitely come again. Very easy to reach and generally Fukuoka is very walkable. Really friendly staff as well.
If you are very light sensitive during sleep, it could be tricky because the curtains are not fully blocking the light and it is also not possible to fully close it. I could handle it but just in case this applies to you, take that into consideration. Otherwise, I can fully recommend this place.
