This hostel is very welcoming. The hosts were very kind and warm, the rooms were clean, comfortable and filled with small details. There is a living room with a kitchen, table and sofas downstairs available to the guests filled with many thoughtful elements, such as several kings of tea, snacks, books and comic books available for the guests. It brought back memories of visiting my grandparents in childhood. Additionally, this hostel is located less than 5 minutes walk away from the train station. I cannot recommend this place enough! If I visit mount Fuji area, I will definitely choose Hana Hostel again.

A very wholesome, homely hostel! Excellent location, a 5 minute walk to Mount Fuji station and Chureito pagoda is a 40 minute walk (all the way to the top). Satashi-san was very welcoming and gave us lots of recommendations for things to do and restaurants in the area. Unfortunately we were only there for one night, but we would definitely stay longer! Highly recommend to anyone wanting to explore the area and see Fuji-san. Great facilities, very clean and the beds were very comfortable. We loved the Ghibli and cute home accessories throughout the hostel, made it feel very homely. Washing and kitchen facilities available too. Overall, excellent stay wish we were here much longer! Hope to come back. We really appreciated the photo and chopsticks. ありがとうございます!!

Nothing, it was amazing we only wish we stayed longer than one night!

We arrived late at night and they had good communication on how we could still enter the hostel, and even left us a hand written envelope with instructions for our stay, a welcome gift, and recommendations for exploring Fujiyoshida. Because we arrived so late the evening before, we woke up a bit late for check out. We met Sato, who was kind and still greeted us good morning, and just made sure we were alright. He said we could stay for breakfast and didn’t rush us out of the hostel. He even said we should wait to meet his wife, and so we waited and we met Hana and their son. It truly felt so welcoming. They took our pictures for their guest log and even printed them for us as keepsakes, and gave them to us in another hand written envelope with candy that said “Thank you for coming!” We were so grateful for their hospitality, we got them a gift in a return and Sato gave us even more treats as a thank you! We only stayed for one night but wish we stayed for longer. Staying at Hana Hostel is one of the most memorable parts of our trip because of how kind, clean, accommodating and welcoming they were. Highly recommend staying here!

This hostel was honestly one of the best parts of our trip! Not only is it super cute and stylish, but it’s also incredibly well-equipped with everything you could possibly need – from comfy beds and clean showers to thoughtful little touches everywhere. The staff were amazing – so warm and welcoming! They gave us tons of great local tips that made our stay even more special, and they even surprised us with some adorable little gifts that totally made our day. You can really tell they care about their guests. Whether you're a solo traveler or with friends, this place feels like a home away from home. Highly recommend if you're looking for a cozy, friendly spot with lots of charm!

Hana hostel is possibly the best accommodation we have ever stayed in! It truly feels like a home away from home. The second we walked in we were greeted by Hana’s husband, he helped us with our bags and gave us so much information about the property, the area, where to eat, where to park, what sights to see!! He was incredibly kind and helpful. The hostel room was massive, the beds were so cozy and clean. The toilets and bathrooms are spotless and we never had to wait to use them. They provide towels, slippers, extra blankets, heat packs to take out in the cold, toothbrushes and shower products. heating in the rooms, and also lots of free snacks! Hana and her husband are the most welcoming and kindest hosts you’ll ever meet. They also gave us the sweetest present. The location is also PERFECT, we had rented a car but it’s opposite fuji station. Couldn’t recommend enough!! Thank you!!

Absolutely nothing!

We are so happy that we chose to book this place. We stayed 2 nights and loved it. Comfy bed, clean rooms, showers and bathrooms. After almost six months of travelling this was an amazing place. Hana and Sato made us feel like we were home. And so we did not mind that we couldn't go out for a day because it was heavily snowy and freezing, we just stayed inside in the common area where you also can get some little breakfast. The place has a great location, super close to Mt. Fuji Railway Station which is very convenient to go to all of the spots you want to see in the area.

That we had to leave.

If you’re coming to Mt Fuji (Fujisan) you HAVE to come stay here and meet the amazing Hana-San and Satoshi-San. This by far was the best and most hospitable experience I have had in Japan. The accommodation is incredibly cute and has the homely touches of the owners. The bed was incredibly comfortable, I’m sad to say goodbye to that mattress. The owners put out a large spread of free snacks, fruit, yogurts, noodles, boiled eggs, teas and coffees which they top up everyday! They even gave me a (FREE) bicycle that I was welcome to use for my whole stay, which really opened up Mt Fuji. And to make it even more special I was left a gift to say thank you for coming and even a birthday gift. Which honestly brought me to tears, I only mentioned in passing this was my 30th trip. To end the longest review I have left. Stay here, I know a day trip is attractive, but then you don’t get to experience the sleepy quiet Mt Fuji nor the hospitality of Hana-San and Satoshi-San.

Hana-san is the most friendly, helpful and kind host! She even gave us a little memoir of our stay there which is the most heartwarming thing ever! The rooms are very clean, comfortable and super spacious. We had a traditional Japanese style room, and it could have easily fit one more person. The value for money is just superb. On top of that a small free breakfast buffet and free parking spots are offered as well, so truly nothing to complain about! We are so glad to have met Hana-san and stayed at this beautiful place.

Not a single thing to complain about!

I must say, this is by far the BEST hostel I stayed at during my 2024 visit to Japan. Not only is the price affordable, but the hostel truly feels like a home away from home. They thoughtfully prepare snacks, eggs, and even yogurt in the chiller for guests, along with ready hot water. They go the extra mile by providing heat pack and earplugs, as the walls are a bit thin and some outside noise may carry. However, for me, noise wasn’t an issue at all. The rooms & living room are beautifully decorated—so sweet and cozy. They allowed us to store our luggage in the living room after check-out, which was a huge help. When they noticed we were carrying a lot, they even gave us an extra bag ♥️♥️♥️♥️. Their kindness and attention to detail are remarkable. The hosts also provide maps and recommendations for nearby attractions, making it easy to plan your visit. They even surprised us with a thoughtful gesture, which I’ll keep as a secret for you to discover.🤭🤭 Their home is immaculately clean, and although the washroom is shared, the cleanliness made it a non-issue. I would highly recommend this hostel to anyone planning to visit Fuji. It’s located less than a 3-minute walk from Fuji Station (both train and bus), making it extremely convenient and easy to find. This place is not just worth the money—it’s an experience of genuine warmth and hospitality that makes your stay truly unforgettable.

Hana san & Satoshi san are the most amazing hostel hosts! They are such kind people and truely look after you to make sure you feel at ease. We were given loads of snacks each day, and even a really thoughtful gift as we left. The hostel was really clean, there were two toilets and two showers so we never encountered any issue with having to wait to use either. Thank you so much ❤️

Our room had a slight damp smell, but I think this is difficult to solve when it’s cold. Overall it didn’t bother us too much :)
