The hotel view from the breakfast/dining room and our room was incredible. The staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was lovely and we also had wonderful dinners in the restaurant of an evening. Pre-dinner drinks were handy while waiting for dinner service to start. Iur room was a great size with doors opening onto a large balcony with a seating area and sun beds. We will definitely return for another wonderful experience.

The mattresses were a little hard to what we're used to. The walk from the train station with large suitcases is a bit of an effort as the hotel is high up on the hill. It's a short walk and fine without luggage but if you're middle-aged like us just get a taxi there initially.

This hotel is a total gem. The location is incredible and the rooms look right onto the sea. I had a panoramic room with balcony and the sunrises and sunsets were beautiful. The breakfast was delicious and with views over the town. So many options!! The staff were incredibly warm and attentive without being intrusive. The newly added spa is just something else, especially thanks to valentina who is a real gift. It’s definitely worth paying a bit extra for.

Just to prove that this is a real review, the gardener was blowing leaves during breakfast which ruined the atmosphere a little however it was probably cold by italys standards and I’m sure this wouldn’t happen in peak season. Also the beach area was closed but again, this is due to the weather which was still quite hit and miss.

The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, from the front desk team and house cleaners to the wait staff and car valets. Especially since we travelled with our dog, everyone was incredibly accommodating! There was even a dog blanket and food bowl waiting for us in our room upon arrival. The location was also superb, just a short walk from the centre of Santa Margherita. The breakfast was delicious, we ate at the hotel every morning before venturing out for the day, and our room was cleaned well every day. Overall a wonderful stay!

Amazing place with a great view and perfect location. The front desk staff and the restaurant team were outstanding—super friendly and welcoming. Anytime I needed information or assistance, they were always there to help. Special thanks to Stefano, the young blonde lady at the front desk, and the two ladies in the restaurant, along with Gudo, for their warm hospitality. The hotel’s vibe even made the other guests feel friendly, creating a wonderful atmosphere. If you ever visit, be sure to book a room with a view. Despite the rain during our stay, we loved the hotel, and the staff made it feel like home. I will definitely come back again!

Highly recommend this hotel to others. Couple trip beginning Nov. Excellent staff and accommodations. Wonderful location and property. Perhaps the highlight which we did not expect was the superb food and staff for breakfast and dinner. Dinner was an unexpected highlight for us. We did all our dinners at hotel ( despite having access many good options). Also, unexpected was that we enjoyed our time in Santa Margherita Ligure as much as our time in Portofino. Hotel close train station which very convenient. We took boat to Portofino one day the other day nice long walk there and boat back. Spent half time in Santa Margherita Ligure as well.

We loved this hotel. A terrific option on the sea side of the road. But it is not perfect. The rooms are small, but with their terrace it’s fine. Would be nice if the old bedspreads were replaced with doonas, and would be great if there were English Channels on the TV. The spa is fabulous!!! You have to pay $25 euro pp to use the sauna etc, but it’s worth it. Parking is good too. Love that you can just be there at the hotel as it is a full resort. You don’t need to leave. Easy to walk into town too. We would definitely stay again, very nice !

During my recent stay at a luxury hotel in Portofino, I was thoroughly impressed by the breathtaking views and exceptional service. Dining at the hotel was a culinary delight, with a menu that featured local ingredients and exquisite flavors. The staff was attentive and our waiter Antonio and went above and beyond to ensure every need was met, adding to the overall luxurious experience. Additionally, the location was ideal, with easy access to the charming village and nearby hiking trails, allowing for both relaxation and exploration. Overall, my stay was a perfect blend of comfort, luxury, and the enchanting ambiance of Portofino.

It was flawless

My friend and I came to Santa Margherita for lunch, but we were unable to drive back to the town we are staying in due to torrential rains and flooding. I had my furbaby Enzo with me, so we booked 2 last minute rooms and we're so happy we did! The hotel staff was wonderful! Siljin at reception gave up toothbrush kits, literally our only supplies except our lip gloss. Moreno took care of our restaurant needs and even fed my dog dinner. We hung out in their spacious lounge watching the sea and having drinks and snacks with the other guests, who were all schmoozing with Enzo! Anja and the ladies in the restaurant set up a fantastic buffet every morning which we thoroughly enjoyed! We even got great manicures from Veronica at the wellness center. Best decision of our lives to stay at Hotel Continental!!

This was a wonderful stay, we highly recommend this Hotel. The staff were excellent, food was amazing and the easy parking was a bonus. We took the ferry down to Porto Fino which was the easiest and most scenic. The route South to Porto Fino was very congested (weekend festivals). Only negative was the very small room but that’s a small problem with all the other positives . Beautiful scenic area, lots of gorgeous old homes but the roads are very narrow and curvy. Use extreme caution.

The room was on the maligned road side of the hotel, but most noise was kept out by the double glazing, and being low season there was little traffic anyway. Hotel facilities were excellent, with gardens and the rocky beach to enjoy. Staff were attentive and friendly. Breakfast was good with a wide selection available; cooked meals came at a premium but were unnecessary given the range of other foods available. Location is very close to the town and railway station. Buses to Portofino are frequent and entertaining.
