Central hotel 21 concept is beyond brilliant - great affordable room rate - lovely historical building with a yard in the middle, very close assemblence to Moroccan Ryad houses in Agadir Morocco. 100/100 excellent clear and concise info- great attention to details- even the teas in a nice granny’s tin. Ms Emese checked me in and was one of the best check ins I had in my life, she even remembered my request- absolutely brilliant! Staff do everything to make our stay comfortable enough- we should therefore all respect them and follow their rules - simple!

You find almost everything you need in the room except for iron + ironing board which you can get from reception. My only advice to the management is Please slowly but surely strip out the rooms carpets one by one and fit in Laminate wood flooring, there will be no bad smells when guest first enters. Hope when I come back next year I would find wooden flooring

The location of the hotel was very good. It was very close to public transportation. There were markets nearby where you could meet your needs. I think there is no one at the reception after 22:00, but they give you contact numbers in case of any problems. The hotel has a small cute inner garden and some rooms have entrances from this garden, which is especially convenient for smokers. The rooms were really clean. There was a kettle in the room, and tea and coffee were also provided. The bed was very comfortable, but our room and bathroom were a bit small. Since we were traveling around the city all day and only used the room to sleep and take a shower, we were not impressed by the small size of the room. The staff was friendly and hardworking. We would especially like to thank Aron, who gave us all the necessary explanations and always answered our questions. They have a small breakfast consisting of a fruit juice, a coffee, two croissants and jam for I think 4 euros. We tried it once and I think it was pretty good for the price. Especially the warm and fresh croissants were delicious.

It's not exactly the most modern location, but for the price it offers, it seemed like a good accommodation. The reception staff was very friendly. The location is relatively close to the center, there are many shops and cafes around. The room was clean, maybe a little dust on the furniture. We opted for the room with a garden view and we were happy, it was very quiet, no one bothered us. We didn't opt ​​for breakfast because I don't like sweets in the morning

The bathroom is quite small and has no ventilation, the pillows on the bed are a little too big, they do not provide a bottle of water

The room was very clean and warm The hotel itself was interesting. I would recommend some big paintings on the staircase and a carpet on stairs, this will add a lot of elegance and a touch of luxury.

I iron my clothes in daily bases so an iron is a must for me. However, I understood that there is a health and safety policy and there is a room where I can iron during the reception opening times 07:00-22:30 But daily went to iron at 9 pm and the receptionist allowed me but I could tell that she wasn’t happy about it and she made it seem like a favour for me. Constantly was checking her time on the watch from her wrist while checking on me and she was kind of giving me anxiety as she wasn’t subtle about it. And mention on bout occasions that they are closing soon. I didn’t say that I was advised via chat that i can use it until 22:30 as my priority was to just get my things done. But maybe in the further ensure that the staff and the guests are both aware of the timings.

It's a very comfortable, clean place. All the staff were very kind and very informative. Even I have asked to change flavors of tea in my room, they told me to feel free and change with what I liked. It is also a secure place to stay. I will definitely recommend. Although there is no lift the male receptionist was very kind to help us with the luggage. The breakfast is optional for €4 for croissant, coffee and juice which is a very reasonable price in Budapest. They should do even a continental breakfast. But overall I give them a100% well done for their great service and cleaniness. Apart from that is that public transport is within few minutes just round the corner.

The only drawback is that there's no lift since it's an old building.

There are several things that make this hotel worth revisiting. 1. It is super well located. It is on the edge of the super touristy area, in a very calm and nice neighbourhood, and most importantly, really well connected. There are several really good tram connections and metro lines within 10 minutes of walking. You can get to almost anywhere of interest with one or a maximum of 1 change. 2. The staff were very kind and helpful. Shoutout to Áron who was really helpful and friendly from even before I arrived. 3. The room itself is super quite, you barely hear any noise. I had one facing the courtyard on the first floor, and it's like you are living in a bubble. 4. Daily housekeeping. 5. Room has everything you need for a short stay and has superb heating in winter, i woke up several times at night to lower or adjust the heating even though it was negative temperature outside. 6. The price to value ratio is pretty good for these days. 7. There are a few late night grocery stores and some decent restaurants around the corner.

There is just one thing that made me not give this place a higher score. It has a problem with proportions. What do i mean? I mean that for example, the bed cover was too small and i had to choose between keeping my whole body warm but being stuck in position or having freedom of movement but having half my body exposed. It was a single duvet for a double bed and it was quite small width wise. The bed itself would be a bit uncomfortable if you are a bit above 180 like me, the pillows are either too small or massive, and the bed sheet was almost exactly the size of the mattress, so it was getting loose from the edges. These are the things i could think remember.

We stayed at Rate Central Hotel 21 and Apartments for one night from January 4th to January 5th, traveling by car. The hotel was easy to find, and parking was convenient—there’s an underground parking lot just 50 meters away on the same street, located beneath another building. The hotel has only two reserved spots, so it’s best to book them in advance. You’ll need to pick up the key from the reception to access the parking. The staff was very friendly and welcoming, which made check-in smooth. Our room was small but cozy, very clean and tidy, with a spotless shower. The location is excellent, right in the city center, making it easy to explore Budapest on foot. There’s also a minimarket right across the street, though it only accepts cash (forints only), so be prepared. Overall, a great choice for a short stay in Budapest—comfortable, clean, and in a prime location!

When I was searching for a hotel, I was trying to find the option which is very close to the city. Central hotel 21 was the right choice. It took me only couple of tram stops to get to the city, which was very convenient. The room wasn’t too big, but I didn’t mind as I was on my own. The facilities are all clean and new, the bed is comfy, the room was cleaned every day.

Even though the hotel rules don’t let you smoke in the rooms, they let people to smoke in the inner yard which is fine during the day, but quite annoying during the night especially when you keep the window open. As the area is super quiet you can hear every word.

Everything was tidy and clean when we arrived. We arrived quite late from our flight but the instructions to get in were very clear and we had no issues. The room was nice space for value and the air con was great for the hot nights. Windows kept the noise out and the place was quiet. The hotel is in a very nice neighbourhood, near the city centre and pubs and restaurants but without the noise. There was a nice garden and Emese at reception was lovely. She did both our check in and check out, we were allowed to leave our bags for the day and she gave us some nice recommendations for places to buy wine. She also spoke to us in Spanish for a bit which was lovely. We enjoyed our stay :))

The window curtains were okay but they didn’t cover the room completely so there was light coming through in the morning. Not the biggest problem though.

The staff were very friendly and helpful in the ways I approached them. One of them even used a pair of scissors to snip off a bit of skin that dangled from my finger and would have hurt me if it was left unattended.

I only found out before I left that people of my age qualified to use the bus and tram for free. Had I known that, I'd have used it the days when my wife and I walked long distances over the city because we didn't know how to obtain the bus or tram tickets.
