Excellent location just off the riverfront. Our balcony had a super view of the river in one direction and the fascinating city to the other. Busy riverfront road is closed every Saturday and Sunday evening so that everyone can stroll and mingle unimpeded. Plenty of bars, cafes, sky-bars and restaurants to enjoy and a short stroll to the Royal Palace and many other attractions. The excellent owner and his staff are always available for a chat, advice and help with bookings for ferries etc. Cleanliness was excellent and the room fridge was actually silent! We stayed 7 nights and were sorry to leave.

The bed could have been softer but having said that it was better than most Cambodian beds.

The unit is large and comfortable. We loved the large balcony, like our own private rooftop lounge. We had a nice a view on the 4th floor, not sure if the lower floors have a similar view though. If you want to be near the riverside then the location is excellent. After exploring Phnom Penh we found other areas we liked better. But the riverside is popular and for that, this hotel is excellent.

The AC unit was loud! On the weekends the riverside is closed to traffic and becomes a huge walking street. It's great to be right in the middle of it as long as you don't have plans to go anywhere else because it becomes difficult to get out of the area and I can't even imagine trying to get back in if you do go out. So plan to stay in the area if you're coming on a weekend.

Probably the best service I've ever received from any hotel, and I stay in a lot of hotels. The hotel is great: fantastic riverside location, adjacent to, but not in, the 'lively' nightlife scene, huge room, spotless and extremely comfortable, but the staff were absolutely outstanding. I had a couple of issues, and they were an incredible help with both, and prevented a drama becoming a crisis. The next time, I won't look anywhere else. Highly recommended.

It got a bit hot in Phnom Penh, but I don't think that's really their fault. Apart from that, perfect. Not the cheapest, but excellent value.

Great location, with views out onto the Tonle Sap/Mekong River; river-facing rooms also having great view of riverfront promenade from comfortable balcony (fun for people-watching from a distance). Tiny lobby and no hotel-type facilities other than mini-fridge, but there is an elevator (important for the 4th-floor “penthouse” rooms!). Daytime front desk staff spoke English well and responded helpfully to direct questions. Room decor was simple and comfortable, and rooms were very nice size.

The room is so spacious for hotels in that location, not to mention well-designed and has great amenities. I really enjoyed the coffee that was provided at the pantry! Most importantly, it is strategically located: by the river with beautiful sunrise, close to the main attractions - the Wat Phnom Daun temple, the Night Market, the Royal Palace, the Central Market, great local eateries selling Khmer foods, and pubs with happy hour. The mini bar prices are very reasonable, too, which was convenient when I needed a quick bottle of water.

Not major dislikes. Compared to other hotels in the area, the room does not have a river view, breakfast, or pool. But nothing to miss out on if you're down for an adventure in Phnom Penh--try local foods for breakfast, or venture out most day.

To be honest, I don't want to say how good this hotel is in fear it will be booked out when I want to stay there....... My second stay at this hotel, and it's still my fave place to stay in PP. It's so good I will be back to stay again in two weeks. The staff are fantastic & friendly, the rooms are clean and spacious and I love it's boutique feel. The location is great on the riverfront, heaps of food choices around & shopping close by.

I love everything about this hotel.

Location over overlooking Sisowath Quay and Tonle Sap River. The staff is exceptional. I was welcomed by my first name. The room size, bed and bathroom was perfect. Tao Riverside Residence is my first choice for a hotel in Phnom Penh. I was able to have a late checkout as my flight left in the evening.

The couch is too soft for my liking as it's difficult to get out of when you are older, but that is minor to the overall excellence.

Awesome awesome awesome place to stay. One of the best accomodations I have ever stayed in. One of the previous reviews said this place has less ammeneties than a hotel, but I strongly disagree. the 24 hour front desk is extremely helpful and the huge room comes with more great things than a normal hotel would. Huge room, extremely comfortable bed and amazing view. Will definately stay here again when I return. Awesome

Very clean and modern in a great area near the river, wats, post office, markets and palace. Great restaurants in the area. No street noise despite the busy location. The room was massive and had great air conditioning All the staff were friendly Also had an elevator

On first arriving the room had a musty sewerish smell but the staff must have detected this also and placed an aromatherapy candle in the bathroom and opened up the water line. Never smelt it again
